Drapers movement and flexibility has really improved.
Draper draped Musetti in some of the best groundstrokes! Solid tennis, beautiful passing shots and amazing drop shots. A complete performance.
Draper has really compact strokes off both sides, he uses all that muscle to generate pace without needing to set his body up, so he can hit attacking shots even on the run. His movement, net play and smashes are also superb. Makes him very hard to beat until he overheats and collapses which he was starting to do against Musetti. In fact Musetti broke back at the end of the 2nd set, and I think if he could have held on would have won the 3rd comfortably, but he self destructed at 4-4 and hit 4 unforced errors on his service game against a very tired Draper and gave it away.
@@NamesAreRandomperfect analysis
@@NamesAreRandomthe question is, how is jack so tired? The dude barely played any hours this tournament compared to other guys and had like a month rest before this tournament
@@rodrigocadima9174 overheated not tired. He physically gets so hot that he ends up throwing up on court. Against Musetti he took tablets for a headache probably caused by heat. Just a side effect of his big body and the way he puts so much muscle into everything.
@@NamesAreRandom big body? Bro chill he is barely bigger than the average tennis player you talking like he is a bodybuilder lmao
Woah, Draper is a stud. Mussetti didn't play badly at all, insane level all around, what a great match! For a thicker built player Draper moves so well. I could watch Mussetti hit backhands all day, all of his variations are so aesthetically pleasing, the slice, drive, volley, lob, it all looks so elegant and dignified. Dude could have been a ballet dancer if he didn't do tennis! lol
Ure gay for him
@@Yak-z3z damned straight (or gay) I am! 🤣
Draper's shots straight off the bounce are fantastic, really his forte. He has a habit of hitting those running pass shots regularly. Going to be a regular top 10 soon enough.
he has top 5
I cheered for Musetti, but congratulations to Jack on his victory. Draper deserves to advance to the finals.
what an incredible show of domination from draper
Draper moves really well and he's got a big game. And is a shotmaker he's a threat
Draper is impressing. The only brit performing at the moment. Nice embrace at the net.
Fearnley? Kartal? + We have exceptional juniors.
What a performance by Drapper what shot making specially on those breakpoints its a well deserved victory for the brit.
Both players hit incredible passing and down the line shots, insane! Great match.
Once Draper gets his fitness together he’s top 5 for sure
I love Draper, I hope he can boost up his game to be top 10 next year!
Don't give up Lorenzo. Love ❤️. You got lots of talent 😂❤
Rooting for Draper since his USO 2022 match against Khachanov😃
So many good, exciting, attacking players in this generation! Finally we're back to skill and variety in tennis after years of grinding, base liners (and of course a few notable exceptions along the way - thank goodness for RF, SW, GM etc!).
If our Jack keeps himself fit which looks likely he will easily be top 10 come the Australian Open. Keep it going big guy 🇬🇧💪
That was some seriously high level tennis from both players. If they can keep close to that level for best of 5 over 2 weeks, both will be serious contenders for majors. 👏
Grande Jack, sei fortissimo!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Go Draper🎉 A fan from Paris😊
Two of the most entertaining and underrated players on tour. Had Draper winning this before the tournament but was not expecting it to be this one sided!
Draper goes from strength to strength. Musetti is an incredible mover.
Draper is a killer, will easily be top 10 soon
Well played Jack👏👏👏👏🇬🇧
As a Musetti supporter, I would like to congratulate Draper. It was roundly a top-flight clash from beginning to the end. Even though Musetti compelled the boundaries and frontiers on the court, the professional British tennis player had a vast detection to respond to the fierce strikes of Musetti. Particularly, the shot choice of Draper is really coherent, making a large difference in accordance with the other players. The cross-court forehand strikes broadly grabbed my attention. It looks commanding along with the composure of the rallies.
Both these guys are awesome!
Our Jack the lad can beat anyone when he’s not injured. Hope he’s now fully grown into his body and can manage to avoid repeated injuries ❤️
Agreed. I'm so hopeful for him to do great things! 🏴🇬🇧
@@francisedward8713 he’ll have a slam by 2026 for sure 🤞🏾 no injuries
@@LadyMul Fingers crossed! The future of British tennis does indeed look strong; Jack leading the pack, but a lot of up and comers like Fearnley and Kartal, as well as quite a few very promising juniors! And Emma...well she's a wildcard. I can see her either winning multiple slams or fading into obscurity. We will have to see with her but I'm also (only a little) hopeful, and hopefully she sorts out her scheduling next year.
We invented all of the world's most popular sports and for the most part we have no luck. 🤣
Musetti played pretty great. Draper just has that little bit more variety in his game and won the big points.
Both are going to get even stronger than this, Draper in particular will be a top 5 or 6 player within a year.
MADONNA!!!! CHE TENNIS!!!!!
Super happy for you Jack.❤
Magnificent
Jack Draper 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I actually think Draper has the best “passing shot” on the ATP tour. As in all around, backhand, forehand, on the run, shuffling back. Best all around passing shot.
Draper will be top 5 players next years, he could challenge Sinner , Carlos next year, he has chances to win majors
I rate Musetti's one handed backhand shots as one of the most powerful shots today. The others are Perricard, Dimitrov, Eubanks. Their BH are as powerful as their FH shots. Yesterday I was lucky to watch two of the greatest one-handed BH plyers simultaneously as both Vienna and Basel matches were played on my tv channels. And I get to witness the fastest ace served by Perricard at 235km/h, and it was on his second serve! Insane!
Draper has the game to be a top 5 player in the world. He doesn’t really have any weaknesses other than his fatigue/ body holding up in grand slams. Technically though he’s pretty faultless.
Draper is certainly capable of greatness . Its just his stamina/fitness that seems troubling at times
Grande Jake! 2025 in top 10! Gran bel match. Buona fortuna per la finale.
Did the commentator just say dumbelievable tennis😂😂 0:44
I think he’s tryna say ‘it’s unbelievable tennis’ but I see what you mean 🤣
Big things coming for Draper next year I think
at this rate, Draper will be a threat to Sinner/Alcaraz before Rune/FAA
Well, he has beaten both of them. Alcaraz this year and Sinner before he upped his level. He definitely has the potential to fight for the top titles!
I wd include Shelton in this group!
@@fredericsilvestre3588
Shelton still feels a little mentally immature in my eyes
more interested in flashy shots and entertainment than winning
hence the terrible returning games and point constructions
he's more like Tiafoe
Playing like that, Draper has a top 3 level. Total focus on his game.
But would he have lasted if this match had gone to a 3rd set? I don't think so.
@bachstrad1994 it's a valid point,, was thinking that myself..he has to sort whatever fitness issues he clearly has out ASAP.. he absolutely has the game to win anything against anybody.
@@craigbishop939 I was just saying on another comment I think because he's such a big guy it takes a lot for him to get around the court and it also takes a lot to recover from punishing games. It is something he and his fitness team need to resolve as it will be an issue if he wants to go deep in slams consistently. Maybe he needs to trade a bit of muscle for a slightly leaner frame to help with recovery time? It's a interesting one, I hope they resolve it because he is so good to watch and it'd be great to have him up there consistently competing with Sinner and Alcaraz.
He played about as well as I've seen him today and in this tournament. But top three? Nah, he's a long way from that. I feel that he, Fils, and Shelton are all fighting it out for who's going to emerge as the premier "big guy with big strokes" from this generation, and all three need to make substantial strides on their mental games if they're going to break into the top 10.
@@HeavyTopspindrapers problem isnt his mental game what so ever. Its very clearly his fitness. When he plays against great people he tends to play better not worse. He is normally relativly clutch. The clear problem for him is fitness. Struggling near the end against sinner at the us open. He must have thrown up on the tennis court at least 5 different times by now due to heat/exhaustion.
Draper needs to stop running his hand through his wet hair & then shaking hands with his opponent‼Come on man‼
Omg, my thoughts exactly 😂
Haha I thought I was the only one who was disgusted by that!
So many players do that (as you could see, Lorenzo did the same)... But Jack's hair style makes it more pronounced.
You need to appreciate the level of tennis instead of weirdly pointing out irrelevant bullshit! When you’re as good a tennis player as these then maybe your bullahit sentence may be noted! 🤦🏻♂️
You realise they take showers before matches? It'll be no different to the sweat that's already on his palms. Tennis players hands are always soaked in sweat regardless. It's a complete non-issue.
Musetti's coach keeps not fixing his torso leaning back every tine he hits his fh. Hell never inprove until he fixes that huge flow
Yes. That was Andy Murray's failing, too. Nice to read some technical insight in the comments section!
bro the pechicard v rune match just finished 1.3 minutes ago and you havent uploaded, falling behind
I expected Draper to win but not as easily.
Was not aasy Victory at all
Our boy in Britain starting to come good :) Nadal like in some ways - great variety, pace, and execution of shots. Not as elegant or efficient (yet anyhow) as Djokovic or Federer, but he's a great talent.
Can see him winning a handful of Slams certainly in his career, if he can stay injury free and fit. That's the challenge - hope he can make it.
Draper is blowing these guys away this week. Some of the angles he makes are just unplayable. One more to go against the most miserable player on tour. 😂
Draper is particularly one of the few players that I've seen that can push Sinner and Alcaraz for at least the first two sets. I can still see he struggles physically. If his box can up his stamina level I can seriously see this guy becoming a top 5 in maybe 2 years, could be less though
I think because he's such a big guy it takes a lot to get around the court and it also takes a lot to recover. It will be an issue if he wants to go deep consistently in the slams. Hope he manages to sort it because he's such a great player to watch and one of the few that can go toe to toe with sinner and Alcaraz. That running forehand down the line is a thing of beauty.
He won Alcaraz in Queens
@@m.a.g.3920 yes I know. It shows he has the game to compete with the top two but, if you drag him into a long contest, chances are he will lose those as he just isn't able to recover as quickly as the other top guys.
@@khalidhussein5346 and for some reason Alcaraz tends to play not so good in BO3 that's also a reason
@@khalidhussein5346 That's not really an excuse; Shelton and Fils are the same size as he is.
Musetti’s shot variety is still lacking - over reliance on topspin forehands even where a simple flat put away is indicated - and unprepossessing serve.
I still think he tends to play on all surfaces like he's playing on clay.
His forehand looks awkward at times, to some degree, as he just seems a little off balance.
I also feel he chips the backhand too much rather than being aggressive with it.
Hmm....very impressive..but that forehand sits up too much in the mid court when he gets tight..backhand has much more weight. Dare I say it but it still looks like a junior forehand, too much spin & too short too often. Sinner et all will hit thru that. Any way amazing tenacity & he looks in amazing shape - good luck tomorrow .
Draper is Goat.
Dare I say it? Some of Draper's shot making reminds me of a certain Raphael Nadal.
Might we finally get an ENGLISH GRAND SLAM WINNER?
Was thinking the same. Great variety, and execution of shots. Not as elegant or efficient (yet anyhow) as Djokovic or Federer, but he's a great talent.
Can see him winning a handful of Slams certainly in his career, if he can stay injury free and fit.
Draper looks like Archie Andrews in Riverdale
Musetti's forehand is too weak. Sad, since his backhand is very good.
SPOILER BLOCKER
Hoping draper humbles shelton
It will probably be Khachanov in the final, unless you just mean in general?
@brandonm8901 whoops shelton in diff event lol
Except he’s not playing Shelton boo hoo
I see 2 players after the new big two:
Draper and Shelton
Typical Musetti. Beats the N. 1 and loses against an unseated. And I know Draper is good, but still...
He's below Draper in the live rankings.
@@JLongTomHe is now. But he wasn't at the start of the match. You're twisting things.
@@danguee1 He was two places above Draper and now he's one below. Is that honestly a difference that makes a difference?
@@JLongTom But Draper is below Sverev
@@tease5424 Sure, but your implication was that he lost to someone worse than him, not someone with about the same ranking and already 2-0 up in their head to head.
Musetti doing Musseti things. He has a lot of potential to be a contender agains Alcaraz or Sinner, but I guess he doesn't want to.
Draper by the baseline and Musetti is out..
Oh christ. What a letdown. For once I bought a ticket to a final and all the top seeds either dropped out or were chasing Arab money. Such disappointment. I bought the ticket on the promise of maybe a repeat of last year's blockbuster final but now I'm not going to see a blockbuster one. Almost makes me want to sell the ticket, but it's too late even for that. Musetti - De Minaur would have been the best case scenario now and Musetti already messed it up
why do casuals like you even but tickets to watch tennis ? like i m an actual tennis fan, i don t give fk who plays i just wanna see pro players doing their stuff. you guys in rich countries don t know how lucky you are to have these tourneys. we have bucharest 250 , and compared to vienna it s garbage
@@VladRadu-tq1pg yeah, I'm casual enough to travel to a neighboring country to see it. Would love to live in Vienna but I don't..I travel for it just like I would do for concerts for the bands I like. Except that when you pay for a band to see, you are promised to see it. I bought a ticket for the final expecting to see a blockbuster match. If I would have known there isn't going to be one, I would have bought a ticket for Tuesday to see Thiem's farewell match live. And by the way, I'm such a casual that I expect that if we 2 play a match, I'd give you bagels. I'm pretty sure that would be the case even not knowing you. Because most often than not, people judging someone about a specific topic/area are bad at it themselves
De Minaur best case scenario? Khachanov v Draper could be a quality match. Both big shot makers who really punish the ball on fast indoor courts. I would be happy with a ticket to that, I saw Draper play indoors last year and it was one of the best matches I saw that year
Musetti is surely not Sinner is he?
No, but a tough player. We are not comparing the no1 with n0 18 before Draper won and now he is 16th. Go Draper😊
@@sheibanineda2488musetti is 16 now draper is 15
@@sheibanineda2488 Tough? Blasphemous whimp.
@@stefciko5831 No Musetti is actually ATP n° 17 and Draper is N°18!!!!
Musetti has an indecent serve, and this is why he can win one day with Zverev and the day after lose with draper... Such a shame
