    Draper draped Musetti in some of the best groundstrokes! Solid tennis, beautiful passing shots and amazing drop shots. A complete performance.

    • @NamesAreRandom
      @NamesAreRandom 3 месяца назад +2

      Draper has really compact strokes off both sides, he uses all that muscle to generate pace without needing to set his body up, so he can hit attacking shots even on the run. His movement, net play and smashes are also superb. Makes him very hard to beat until he overheats and collapses which he was starting to do against Musetti. In fact Musetti broke back at the end of the 2nd set, and I think if he could have held on would have won the 3rd comfortably, but he self destructed at 4-4 and hit 4 unforced errors on his service game against a very tired Draper and gave it away.

Even though Musetti compelled the boundaries and frontiers on the court, the professional British tennis player had a vast detection to respond to the fierce strikes of Musetti. Particularly, the shot choice of Draper is really coherent, making a large difference in accordance with the other players. The cross-court forehand strikes broadly grabbed my attention. I rate Musetti's one handed backhand shots as one of the most powerful shots today. The others are Perricard, Dimitrov, Eubanks. Their BH are as powerful as their FH shots. Yesterday I was lucky to watch two of the greatest one-handed BH plyers simultaneously as both Vienna and Basel matches were played on my tv channels. @@craigbishop939 I was just saying on another comment I think because he's such a big guy it takes a lot for him to get around the court and it also takes a lot to recover from punishing games. It is something he and his fitness team need to resolve as it will be an issue if he wants to go deep in slams consistently. Maybe he needs to trade a bit of muscle for a slightly leaner frame to help with recovery time? It's a interesting one, I hope they resolve it because he is so good to watch and it'd be great to have him up there consistently competing with Sinner and Alcaraz.

I feel that he, Fils, and Shelton are all fighting it out for who's going to emerge as the premier "big guy with big strokes" from this generation, and all three need to make substantial strides on their mental games if they're going to break into the top 10.
