The Spidi Thunder H2Out Pants are as rugged as the motorcycles and motorcyclists who put them to use. With a double layer of Tenax Polyamide providing the outer shell with added abrasion resistance and durability, the Thunder H2Out Pants are a waterproof, go-anywhere option that does the job in a wide variety of riding scenarios. Additional features of the Spidi Thunder Pants include Force-Tech protectors at the hips and knees, a waterproof telescopic gaiter, dynamic vents, and reflective details for increased visibility in low-light conditions.

True to size is the way to go. They are sport pants and are supposed to be slim fitted. They also come in long and are worth considering if you have narrow waist/lenght ratio. Bike pants should have longer legs specialy when they have no stretch above knee. Imagine having short boots or shoes when riding a sport bike.

Spidi's size chart is correct for the Thunder, no need to go (two sizes) up. You'll regret it. Here's why.
I bought the Thunder in 3XL, thinking I need to do that, and for a waist of between 112 and 118 cm (where I fit on Spidi's scale) it is a tad on the large side.
I should have went with the 2XL, as the size chart says. I like a tigher fit, mind you, for safety.
Right now I have more room than I'd like at the waist and I feel that without riding with the waterproof layer and a base layer the pants are too baggy for my preference.
With the 3XL, I have to velcro the waist adjustment straps the middle to keep the pants from slowly falling while walking.
They are also a tad longer than I'd like. At just under 1.90m I'd be amazed how a shorter, but just as bulky person, would be able to walk in them.
I'm highly tempted to exchange them for a smaller pair.
PS: I bought them from Europe, where at the hips there is CE Level 1 protection included.
Also, Spurgeon is right, they could use from more flex tenax. I have more of it on my Spidi leather pants and it works great.

@@fullfull My experience with the pants is in temperatures ranging from 5+ to 35-40 C
      They're good in all conditions
In summer you can remove the lining, open the zips and you are ok. I think how you'll like them depends on how you tolerate heat. While moving, I was happy with them though. Not the most ventilated, mind you
During the cold days I think they're just fine, if you use a base layer and the waterproof layer. If it rains a lot, you might want to consider using an outer layer, just so they don't get soaking wet
Depends what you're looking for. Personally, I'd go with two pairs in my climate. One for summer, which these would be good for, and one for winter which has a waterproof layer baked in, so the pants don't get wet

these or Alpinestars Raider textile pants Drystar ?

That really depends if you want a fixed waterproof liner with direct venting, or whether you want a removable waterproof liner. If most of your riding is hot, dry weather riding, then consider the Thunder. However, if you have the waterproof liner removed and come across some rain, you won't be able to put the rain liner in easily on the side of the road. In that instance, you're better off with the Raider Drystar Pants, since the waterproof liner is fixed. With the Raider Pants, you still get direct airflow to your legs, whereas with the Thunder Pants, you don't get direct venting when the waterproof liner is inserted. -DrewZilla
