Holofit v VZFit - I Go Out Walking in VR

- Virtual Reality Exercising is the Holy Grail of VR. If I can be in VR and lose weight, it's a win-win in so many ways. Now that Holofit is on the Oculus store, I decided to do a side by side comparison of the two apps using just walking with controllers. No other equipment needed.

VzFit is amazing, people complain about the blockiness of the images, but they've done a remarkable job of getting it done at all. Spent the last few days making up routes around my local area in Scotland. Tomorrow, I'm going to have a run around the Tuscan countryside in Italy. This has been a game changer, it's encouraged me to start exercising again
I agree wholeheartedly! There’s so much variety!
So, do you think it is worth the subscription? You only need a cadence tracker right? thnks.
@@Ugandan_key oh yes
@@Ugandan_key You only need the tracker if you're using the bike. The running mode requires just you and the controller. I feel it's worth it, as I'll get a lot of use out of it, and I'll eventually get a bike and tracker, but it's not for everyone.
Sounds great. Thanks both.
I subscribe to both too. I've found myself mostly using Holofit now. They updated it to work with any cheap rowing machine (head tracking) and it's mind blowing to row in VR with it now. They also added a Skiing option which works really good too, and it just tracks your controllers.
Thanks for this! This is the most indepth comparison I have seen and I think I now know which one I will use
You are most welcome
You just answered my question.. I already have Holofit but wasn't sure if I should join VZFit. It was hard to decide because both are unique and beautiful so I decided to keep both. Great video 👍
They both have pros and cons in for the low price of the subscription, I think they are both worth having! Thank you by the way.
Thank you! 😁
You are most welcome!
I just recently got a rower (non Bluetooth) to use with holofit and I really like it ..I am wondering how good rowing in is with vzfit, I hear you can row in standing mode with difficulty setting on 1, but haven't tried yet.
You can get a Bluetooth cadence attachment from Amazon. My elliptical wasn’t Bluetooth and the cadence work for it.
@@AprilPvd I don't think cadence sensor s work with rowers but the head tracking works well enough....If I had $$ and space, I'd get a concept rower but I'm a newbie...I really like it so far, I'm trying the demo of Holofit...I'm looking forward to their Cyberpunk world... eventually I will try vzfit and see what that's like...before I got into vr, I was a sloth...vr was a catalyst and it got me into lifting weights and squat exercise and dusting off the old step machine....I really like rowing...also I absolutely love the boxing workouts of Supernatural.
Question. If you have a stationary bike like a spin bike, do you have to pump your arms? That seems weird if so.
When I used a stationary bike, I also had a cadence that was linked to the headset. The specific video was about using both applications for just a controller. It was specifically for people who didn’t have the equipment. If you have a bike then the cycling on the bike would move each of them through the map. When I had a stationary bike, I did have to add a Bluetooth cadence to link to the headset
Thanks for your great review. I’m at a standstill. Like you, I also want both. 😊 I have an elliptical, treadmill and a rower. I’m considering the purchase of a spinner bike. I have to consider which apps will give me the best bang for my buck, considering the equipment that I have. One app has an elliptical feature, while both have a cycling . . . Thanks so much. You’re helping.
I had a regular bike and while you move more corresponding on a bike then on the elliptical, I found that no matter what I did my butt was always hurting. I haven’t tried it on the treadmill because I heard you can’t use VR on a treadmill. I really like it on the elliptical because it’s good for my knees. Good luck and thank you for the nice words!
You my have ready figured this out, but RUclips VR has a ton of videos of people taking trips in cars. All you see is the the view. It’s not 360, but in RUclips you can blow up the picture big enough to fill your view in front of you. Snag the screen like you are catching a fish and it will blow it up.
i want this holofit but i don't know how to pay in unite state american

If you actually go out walking, why need VR. VR makes sense only if I can workout at home biking or on a treadmill, and it show me outside world.
I think you might be slightly confused. It was walking in place in my house. I was not physically out walking. You could not do that because you can’t see what’s in front of you when you have the oculus quest on. You can also use both of these apps with an elliptical with a bike or a rower. But if you do not have these devices, you can also walk in place using your controllers like I was doing in this video. I hope this clears it up for you.
@@AprilPvd yes, I was a little confused. Thanks for the clarification. VR workout seems amazing. I will try that out.
First... there are no bears in Antarctica :) and am I the only one that sweats too much during the run or bike ride? Not great for the head set.
Not only the sweat, but also the heavy unbalanced headset… vr is good for a mild light exercise I guess
VZfit is so bad!
