I been on a 80s synthwave kick lately. McRocklin been doing a lot of solos for this type of stuff. Check out The Midnight, TimeCop1983, Kalax etc..
Quixotic-dust to dust,...almost anything by Dance with the dead ,they have lots of guitar retro synth. Lazerhawk is a great one as well.

For something so retro, I'm actually impressed by the freshness of the modern/nostalgia feeling. Sure this screams 80s in a way, but it is done with a current take, which to me is why it is even more unique and 2020's all the way.
The playing is just out of this world, melodic and loaded with feel.

Lmao there is nothing special about this song. Steve is innovating and being an icon. Listen to satrianis not of this earth album, u might like it. There are songs like this but wayyy better
@@thejoker-go3fh I get it. I have listened to Satriani since 1988. I have listened to many. This song is decent. It has an 80's vibe bcs of the synth, but Vai may be innovating playing 2 guitars or guitar and bass at the same time, but that doesn't make his song writing any good. Not a fan of Vai, I prefer solos to actually match the rhythm of the song instead of just display technique.
WTF Drums is much more interesting than what Vai did.

Hell yes! The spirit of Vinnie Moore and Tony MacAlpine is alive and well in 2022. Also want you to know Gus your work on Ozzy's Scream album , in particular "I Want More" is super badass and personally I hear more than a little "Randy" is your style and that's a damn good thing to my ears. You deserve more credit than you got on that badass album imo. In the meantime "I Want More" is the ring tone that wakes me up and Randy's first Mr. Crowley solo is my cell ring tone. 🤘
