    We started our EFMP process several months ago, and we still don't have orders. We're less than 8 weeks out and might have to Get deferred travel, to avoid being without a vehicle and hhg for 3+ months!

    Just came across your videos since my husband and I will be moving out to Germany soon, specifically in Baumholder. I am most concerned about the possibility of finding a job when we arrive because of the small community in this area.

      I completely understand. I had the same concerns. Not gonna lie, finding a "fulfilling" job is tough. I've been here as a spouse since 2014, so here's my advice: This next chapter of your life is temporary (3-5yrs max), and it goes by FAST! If you want to keep yourself busy and earn some extra income, get yourself involved on base!
      Join the spouses club or community partners to network with likeminded spouses, go to Army ACS to find career opportunities, volunteer as much as you can to get your foot in the door with unexpected opportunities.
      Continuously apply for positions on USAjobs, just to keep your options open. Look into unique jobs off base such as a travel guide (EuroTrip Adventures for example), customer service employee, or a "minijob" in Germany (tax free).
      Look into teleworking, or keeping your current job while living in Germany, but if you can’t, have a preliminary plan of what to do with your time, like earning a degree/certificate, or take the time to study & prepare for that profession you really want to start when you return to the states. Below you can learn more about on base edu centers.

      If that’s not working for you, check out hiring opportunities within “Hiring our Heroes” such as the fellows program.

      Like many spouses, you may need to work "odd jobs" just to pay some bills and stay active. For example, I was a kindergarten & special education aide, HS basketball coach, on base referee, and held other random positions until I started learning about online marketing and videography. I'm self taught, I took the extra time I had as a spouse to educate myself on what I was truly passionate about. You can do the same thing!
      With all this mind, you should also have a healthy balance of work and play! This may be your only time you spend in Europe, so TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT! The only thing you will truly remember when you leave Europe is the travel experiences and memories you create with your spouse, so do that often!! Good luck! 🧳 😊

    Hi Daniel, do you think if they got the services of Feathers & Fur Express to transport their pets, the company will have ended up taking care of the flight or still the pets have ended up in a boarding facility for months? Asking because we have 2 dogs and we need to make the decision to contract a company or not for our pets. We are civilian pcs Germany.

    • @DTVDanielTelevision
      @DTVDanielTelevision  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, yes that company would've transported the pets for them if they decided to go with the "door to door" option. Before you PCS, make sure your pets are on your orders so you can get reimbursed for any expenses, to include pet transporters. We are now hearing that Army & AF (in some cases) require this. Do you NEED an ETP to fly commercial? What if the travel office automatically books commercial flights instead of AMC? Orders just say “Use of Commercial Travel Office (CTO) is mandatory for commercial transportation”. Will the Army reimburse the GTCC? I feel like it’s too good to be true to be flying commercial without jumping through hoops.

    • @DTVDanielTelevision
      @DTVDanielTelevision  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! If your orders say commercial flights are authorized then you don’t need an ETP. And yes, you will be reimbursed using your GPCC 😊

      @@DTVDanielTelevision Thank you, Daniel. The verbiage I quoted above from the orders do sound like authorization to me but I wasn’t sure if all orders said this. I suppose if the SATO travel office went ahead and booked this commercial itinerary that should mean all is squared away.
      I highly appreciate your content and effort to inform us newcomers!
