That was amazing. I love the mix of very modern and local architecture. Idilic and fantastic. The food is amazing looking and most likely tastest it too.

This is an excellent production covering aspects of a country most people probably know little about. The photography of the area and background music is wonderful. I only wish the descriptions of the food was near the level of the depictions of it. For example, the "coffee ice cream" didn't look at all like what people think of as coffee ice cream. You mentioned and showed the roasted coffee beans which don't need a lot of explanation but what was what looked like butterscotch/caramel sauce at the bottom? The ice cream looked white and looked more like vanilla. Maybe there was a language barrier but while some of the food descriptions were pretty good, the lack of detail of food descriptions overall left me wanting more. Sundried tomatoes in oil are common. You can get them here at most grocers and besides oil, there are other ingredients added for flavor. Are the sundried tomatoes you had just soaked in oil? Don't they add anything to the oil to give the tomatoes more flavor like maybe garlic, herbs like thyme or oregano or some wine? Also, what does baby goat taste like? Does it taste like lamb? How are the meats cooked? What did the plum sauce on the goose taste like and how was it prepared? What did the kabobs taste like? Are they marinated first and what ingredients are added to the marinade to enhance the flavors? It would be nice to be able to get a better idea of how things taste other than "so good" or "fresh". Did it taste, spicy like a hot pepper or spicy like a sausage. Was it sweet, salty, sour, pungent, mild/bland/, bold/strong, bitter? Did the food remind you of certain foods most of your viewers might be familiar with? What did the Okra taste like? You said it tasted like it fell apart in your mouth. That doesn't tell us anything about the flavor. Was the blueberry pasta anything like plain yogurt (which is fermented cow cream) with crushed blueberries on pasta? You said it was "hot". Did you mean it was hot like cayenne pepper? Was there hot pepper added? Did they actually mix in blueberries with the flour to make the pasta dark like that? It obviously was not regular light colored pasta with a blueberry sauce.
@E. man Really? You didn't just grow up with parents that liked plain food? You mean there are no gourmet restaurants where they use Nature's herbs and spices to make the food more delicious?
@E. man It is nice to see the animals are treated humanely and have a far better quality of life than farm raised animals here. Ideally the portions of meat served would be so small that fewer animals would need to be killed.
@haralbi You could add some of the same things you add to other meats. You could marinate it in a liquid with a number of things or make a dry rub. It would depend on what it tastes like to begin with.
You are right but that is not David. His allure is a down to earth cool and funny regular guy who likes to travel and enjoys other cultures. People like him so they watch him. He does not pretend to be sophisticated and that makes him more relatable to most people. If you want something different you can watch actual chefs on tv channels with a filming crew and an army of writers. He probably does not know much about how the food was prepared as most things the cooks will not tell as they do not want their secrets to become common knowledge.
