I was thinking more of a shuttle type service serving all stations i.e. Parramatta, Harris Park, Granville, Clyde, Auburn, Berala, Regents Park, Birrong, Yagoona and Bankstown where people can change to the Metro when it's finished next year. Maybe designate it T10 Parramatta Bankstown Shuttle. 😎
Hi Phil. Sorry to say that your explanation of the changes at 6:10 is almost entirely incorrect. New T3 will be between Liverpool and City via Regents Park, not as you said, between Liverpool and Bankstown via Sefton, i.e. no direct service between Sefton and Bankstown - services to be timetabled for T3 to T6 passenger transfer at Regents Park.
0:28- lol terminate will become an extinct word in station announcements. But anyways, I hope this 2024 Sydney Trains timetable overhaul is a big timetable change, especially in regards to faster services for the T2 South and the new T3 Inner West Lines (not that I like to call them by their "T" numberings), especially the Leppington to City via Granville services that have at least a few pass through Clyde, Flemington, Burwood and Newtown on a regular basis. Also the reinstating of Campbelltown to City via Granville services for T2, plus the T2 Parramatta line not be a service for all times of weekdays if at all, thus allowing Harris Park, Granville, Clyde, Auburn and Burwood to all be reinstated on the T1 Westen Line regularly. And correction: T3 will run between Liverpool and the City Circle via Regents Park (which I personally feel is pretty important to me).
Remove the inner west part of the T2 Inner West and Leppington line and rename to T2 Leppington via Granville line and have it running semi-express after Lidcombe, i.e. Strathfield, Ashfield, Redfern, Central and around the City Circle. You don't need two separate lines both providing all stations services. Also there are plenty of services going to Parramatta on T1 and also the InterCity Blue Mountains line. Interchange with T1 services are available at Wynyard, Town Hall, Central, Redfern, Strathfield and some services also stop at Lidcombe so you don't need the T2 line serving Parramatta also. 😎 19:14
@martinbauer8395 Totally with you on all of that. It just disgusts me for seven years that they've downgraded a lot of these lines and services and make travel times longer and more frustrating.
I'm quite sure that when the conversion finishes, the T3 will be from Liverpool to the City via Regents Park. You won't be able to go to Bankstown from Liverpool anymore.
How many trains could run shuttles during peak hours? 3 or 4 sets playing juggernaut? The points at the Regents Park will get a good work out directing trains to Liverpool or Bankstown, like it used to be. The tracks between Birrong and Sefton will be rusted again.
Hey mate :) Unfortunately i may not be able to see it as i am going to be away for a couple of weeks at the end of the month and there’s a bit to do beforehand. Tekno Train looks cool though :)
Did this ride a little while ago to get to bankstown sports. Train was actually quite full but I'm sure it's going to be much quieter when truncated to bankstown, as all the other stations on the line were very unpopular. They really should extend the new T6 to go further. Maybe up the main Northern Line? or at least to Sydney Olympic park, combine two shuttle lines into one.
Sadly it can’t happen because to get to Olympic park it would have to cross over the main line. I heard that they are planning to one day build a metro linking Koograh to parramatta tho
Interesting video. I am actually surprised that they didn't plan to convert the Bankstown to Lidcolme section to Metro along with the rest. Just curious, will there be a walkway between the two Bankstown stations to save touching off and on with the Opal?
To be honest, since the T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown line is so short with only 6 stations, it would make sense if it was called the 'T6 Bankstown Shuttle', do you think so?
Really, the 'T' number doesn't matter but T6 should be called the Bankstown Shuttle and T7 should be called the Olympic Park Shuttle since these lines has so small numbers of stations
Wait won’t t3 be Liverpool to the city/cbd via regents park and Lidcombe. After Sefton, the trains splits to regents park then goes the line of t2. Or maybe I’m completely wrong.
What underground new platforms has the new safety doors on comming down to sydney again in september 2024 i am wanting to do a video of taping on with the opal card on at a platform and the new safety doors opening when a train stops. In usa want to go on a train or a tram have to buy a paper ticket or use a credit card for every train you go on they donot have any system like we have with the opal card. Was watching a video from usa the person had to buy a paper ticket with cash his card didnot work at the ticket machine.
Get the metro from Sydenham to Bankstown which will be a much faster trip and get the T6 to Regents Park then T3 to Liverpool…..yes it’s painful but until they convert Bankstown to Liverpool it’s the way it will be
It's good that you are recording the last of the heavy train line. It's another part of our railway history that should be put on the record.
What do you mean? T6 will not change from current setup.
@@peterelveryI think he meant City Circle via Bankstown
Indeed!
There’s a series coming up featuring a walk around each of the Bankstown Line stations while Sydney Trains run the line
There's quite a difference in noise level from the upper deck to the lower deck.
I was actually on the T3 Bankstown line Sydenham to Liverpool via Bankstown on Waratah b set
This afternoon
Hi Phil happy Sunday night and this was amazing video I enjoy your channel because you are amazing
Great video Phil!
First that's for the video Phil gonna love it
I would like to see the line between Bankstown and Regents prk eventually become part of a new light rail line linking Bankstown to Parramatta.
The single track leg of the Lidcombe Triangle should be duplicated so you can have direct services from Parramatta to Bankstown. 😊
@@martinbauer8395 why stop there, direct out to St Marys, give the Western Sydney Metro customers another alternative to the T1
@@martinbauer8395 actually thats a better and cheaper idea

@@Woodland26 yes but towards the start of the video Phil said Liverpool to Bankstown was a thing, but later on corrected this :)

That part of Sefton Park Junction will still be used but only for empty movements and freight

Hi Phil,Do you know which month the Bankstown line is closing? Also when is the Liverpool via Regents Park line getting reinstated?
Why didn't they allow for cross platform transfer at Bankstown?
Im exited for the T6 to come and when will the T6 be operating
Bankstown line closes for Metro conversion works on 25th August
Where did you get this information?

What Trains will be used for the T6, and will the T6 be continued after the metro extends to bankstown?
Most likely Waratahs (just a guess).
I think the T6 will stay once the Bankstown Metro opens yes
@@sydneytrainsvlogs oh, ok, thx
My guess would be the M sets. It is one of the shorter lines plus they could run some services with 4 cars
so if i want to go from sydenham to liverpool i have to change twice?

Alternatively if you want to only change once you can take the train from T8 Sydenham to Glenfield then change to a T2 or T5 Glenfield to Liverpool
Only once if you go T4/T8 Sydenham to Redfern, T3 Redfern to Liverpool.
it will close on august
How did you know?
Reported somewhere that Transport for NSW documentation lists 25th August as works commencement date.

The "Metro" sucks. A Metro should compliment an existing heavy rail network, not close lines, and make drivers redundant.
