The scene with the friend and her mother definitely feels like ones I've been in: the peer who's too aloof and emotionally immature to take their own problems seriously, let alone give you and advice for dealing with yours, and their parents who, despite some honest ignorance (or, at worst, is a tiny bit annoying), is much more helpful and genuinely cares about your well being. That's the world I'm most familiar with, and it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one. :)
