While I liked James and Erin's kiss, I wish that we'd seen more of them actually together in the show. Even though Lisa has confirmed that they officially end up together in their thirties, it's still a little disappointing that we won't get to see it happen on screen.
Yes, yet people will reply claiming that DG isn't about that. To those people I say why start it if it isn't?

Several characters wrongly believing that Mary & Gabriel are having an affair is hilariously written & acted!
Precisely, I loved Gabriel's daughter's disgusted reaction, and Gerry's fight with Gabriel later on!

I LOVE Derry girls but I definitely think it deserved so much more than it was given. I think if we had more seasons we could have really fleshed out some story lines. Like James mom, Clair moving away, Michelle’s brother and rather or not Erin’s mom finished school 😭
Or who tf Orla's da was, or is.
I’m not sure any of these plots should have been fleshed out more, it never would have been as funny or satisfying as we think it would.
One of the problems with all the prequels for classic films and series’s over the past 10 years is that they answered questions that didn’t need answering.
I think they ended Derry Girls while they were on top without going too deep into those questions and I think it was the right choice, like in life, we don’t always get answers to the questions we want answered.
James and Erin aka best ship
Gerry dealing with Joe to still give his wife his unconditional support for when she wants to go back to school brings me to tears.
We only saw wee bits of their lives and I like to think Granda Joe gave Gerry many hands on the shoulder during the scarier times of The Troubles that he gave at the end of season 1.
Erin's hair flip as James begins to tell her how he feels..and my boy James just melts
I feel like the shared love of literature and writing between Erin and Mary isn't dived into much, it's a shame really

Michelle's c-blocking of Erin & James at the end is the worst thing she does.

I actually liked it, I find Michelle kind of irritating but it's nice to know that he chooses James over Erin, despite how badly she treats him she still loves him dearly

Sheer class, sheer bliss..... This is so real and deserves everything a show can get. Nothing like this. I love you Ireland with all my heart....
My fav characters are the parents. Especially Gerry cuz he is a bit more sane than the rest so....
It's disappointing that Orla never has a major role in a storyline.
She's kind of the wacky sidekick, but she had a pretty important part in the first scene of the last episode 🙂
@@rosequartz4102 I expected Erin & Orla's 18th birthday party to be spectacular, so it's disappointing that not much happens.
For me she was. I was always pay attention to her reactions to the others dialogue. 😀😀😀😀
As much as I love Orla and agree with this statement, I also just love watching her in the background, doing her Orla things.
I choose to see it like this:
Orla never seemed to get her own arcs or stories, but look a bit deeper, and she drives the narratives and usually is responsible for keeping the group together (the best example is the season 1 finale, but look through the seasons, and you will see them)
I'm just glad my wee lessbian finally got her wee kiss! ❤️❤️❤️
I wish that we'd gotten to know Laurie, Clare's crush, more. I like to think that she and Clare reconnected later. It's a shame that none of the characters have love interests for more than one episode, with the possible exception of Sarah and Ciaran.

To be fair, it's quite true to real-life crushes, which often don't through at that age. Even more so when you consider how wildly the Derry Girls actually behave.

Why does Erin assume that John Paul will be picking her up? He doesn't say he will & he seems uninterested in her.
Maybe we're supposed to assume they had another interaction offscreen.
She asks him to come to the prime and he reluctantly agrees, but bails.
I expected something major to be revealed towards the end of The Reunion. The episode is well-made, well-cast etc., so the revelation merely being that they had tiny tattoos is an anti-climax.
Seconded, I half expected them to reveal that either Mary or Sarah had kissed Janette's future husband, but the tattoo reveal was arguably funnier.
@@trinaq The tiny tattoos are insignificant. From the way the characters talk & behave, I was expecting a far bigger revelation.

@@andrewjones575 actually in their time and in Catholicism, many considered tatoos to be a bad thing. I thought it was funny af. It's all about push and pull in this show and it was hilarious how it was an insignificant thing to us now but was very significant to them then

True, Michelle is implied to have had plenty of action off screen, and maybe Orla isn't interested in relationships, at least not at this stage in her life.
@@trinaq Michelle appears to be the only one of the main 5 who has sexual experience, but we never see any of that. We don't know whether or not Orla wants a relationship, but she's attracted to at least one of the Protestant boys in Across the Barricade.
James got Katya as well as Erin. Granted it was her kissing him and he wasn’t really returning it

I felt really bad for the Jorla Shippers when the show went more in the Jerin direction

Honestly Orla and James are very sibling-like, it's cute. I personally feel like Orla is perhaps asexual.
