I built one of those when I was a kid. There were significant differences. The canopy was a flat piece of clear plastic and it didn't work out at all. Mine was super heavy and didn't fly. I crashed it. My skills weren't that good but I tried pretty hard. It looked cool and that was about it; not as cool as yours though. I am guessing yours wouldn't fly either with rubber bands. Disappointing. My 12 year old self had such high hopes dashed by reality. Really nice model build. Guillow. The dasher of kid's dreams since ____ (I don't know - a long ass time).
Maybe it will fly, maybe not. The fun is in the building and gaining skills along the way. Some of those skills can cross over to other areas. Thanks for watching!
@@punkworkschannel Yours looks fantastic. I had fun building it but I wanted it to fly. I built a couple of other kits and never got one that flew. I know they had some kits at the time that did fly but my skills weren't great, as I said. When I retire in a couple of years, I want to try again.
Beautiful build. I noticed you had holes in your firewall? Are you using toothpicks to secure the the plastic cowl? I'd love to see how you've attached it on the cowl side
Yes, holes in the firewall and toothpicks in the cowl side. This set up is really to hold the positioning, the tension in the rubber is holding the cowl to the firewall. Thanks for you comment!
i never did my paper back to front,
that makes perfect. Thank you for the idea.
It works pretty well, just make sure to pre-shrink. Thanks for watching!
Holy crap! the percision on this kit is incredible! Beautiful work sir.
Laser cut parts really help. Thanks!
Nice job! I like your modifications.
Thanks! Mods are like an extra layer of fun!

Thanks FSM!

It takes a heck of lot of lightening to get a Guillow's 500 series to remain airborne by rubber power. Worth it, though. ;-)
So cool 🛩 model.
Thanks!
Beautiful job congratulations ❤

... what a 'cool' video, wow ...thanks Mike ...
Thank! Had fun building this kit!
what did you use to seal the tissue?
I used two coats of 30 percent Eze Dope to 70 percent water. Thanks for your interest!
WOW!

Terima kasih!
wow, I build the same kit, with movable rudder and elevator, but is nowhere as cool as yours. Did you manage to fly it? I want to try mine these days.
Haven't had a chance to fly it yet. Good luck with your flights. Thanks for watching!
thank you, last evening I also ordered the P6E, I actually found your channel browsing about this model :)@@punkworkschannel
