Looks great! Quick question for anyone: what rpg adventures from dnd and or pathfinder have dinosaurs? I'm looking for adventures to purchase for my next campaign.
This is easily the best beholder mini I have seen. My only complaint are the main eye and the shaft connecting to the base. The plastic cover over the painted eye looks...just...no. I filled mine with green stuff and molded it into an eyeball shape and painted that. The shaft is much too thick. I cut it off entirely, drilled a small hole through the bottom, then jammed a coat hanger up in there. Then I connected it to a base and threw some treasure around it. It's basically the Doctor Faust version. Everything else about the model is terrific.
They came back in stock a few days ago, but are most likely out again on most sites. I bought three on Amazon. So just keep an eye out, they do reruns and usually only cost $5 to $10.
You mention when you are cleaning the mini to be careful because you don't want to wash off the Vallejo primer. Did you use a primer on the mini before cleaning, or does the mini come with that already? I had a look at the packaging that it came out of, and I do see the Vallejo logo, but it doesnt mention that it came primed.. Was this line of minis a collaberation between Wizkids and Vallejo?
Does Vallejo paint usually have a problem sticking to Vallejo primer lol. All joking aside this ended up looking badass. Mine has been setting in a box for about four months hope is looks half as good.
I really love the step by step explanation in this series but I am not a fan of the color scheme. Unfortunatly, I am also not knowledgeable enough to choose the appropriate colors for the scheme I want. I was thinking a blueish purple. Or even a green.
You dont have to wash a pre-primed figure!!. Do you really think the primer would have stuck if there was release agent on it ??. All your doing is damaging the primer layer that came on it already

Which citadel paints would you use to paint this model?

Was confused when I saw this too.
I have painted a few of these unwashed and on most of them, there were some areas where no matter what the paint wouldn't stick.
