@@Maj0rStardust For one queen would create pop songs to progressive rock. System is no where near as varied. Plenty of metal bands utilize piano like queen while system dont. You dont have to shout to be metal like system do. With this in mind I'm sure there are metal bands closer to queen than system. Therefore system being the metal version of queen seems way off. I definitely have never heard a system song that sounded like queen. I'm not sure I can think of a perfect example off the top of my head, or if their is one? I would say dream theater at least are closer than system. I by no means, mean this as a negative towards system I really enjoy their first few albums especially.
Understandable. I never meant to say that they sound like Queen I mostly meant that they have an avant-garde style to both of them and I could always picture SOAD doing a cover of a Queen song because of that. In MY opinion system of a down has a very unique sound that is different than other metal bands that is why I said that they bring something new to the music world. Queen also brought something new to the music world. They are of course different but in my opinion they both have a similar type of uniqueness to their music

Although, all of the crazy stuff on the first album just added to it's raw, dark and insane vibe, IMO. Maybe if Daron writes some self-titled sounding material, we'll finally get another SOAD record. Never happen. Apparently Serj and Daron have straight-up had a major falling-out, from what people on /r/music are saying. Then again, that was the case for Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, but in the last 2-3 years we've gotten two great (one more great than the other) Gorillaz albums, so you never know.
Omega's Gaming Channel Dunno where you’re getting your sources, but they’ve both been really open about what’s been happening. Serj isn’t in the same space artistically as Daron, John and Shavo. He’s focused on different projects that don’t include SOAD at the moment. Everyone else is down for another album and they have tonnes of material, just not Serj and he’s publicly said that.

It's actually an exellent ratio considering nearly 3 million views. The weirdest thing is there are even more subscribers than views of a video over a year old.
A lot of them are probably for the fairly long ad at the start. RUclips are on an absolute rampage adding ads everywhere now. So to then face another once you finally get to the video is understandably frustrating. Cracking cover once it gets going though....

Started from 4:34 I just cried... this is so cool. The work on merging these two songs if fantastic, you're an absolute talent, dude. I hope, that all (ex)SOAD guys will see this video.
Whe you listen to it, it feels like that part has inspired SOAD a lot in their crazy style
This makes me miss SOAD so much.

Very badass. Imagine if System of a down actually made a cover though. I'd lose my shit.
I've actually been dreaming of that or a Sikth cover for a while now. If you haven't heard Sikth go listen to them, I think they'd rock this song in a weird way
Same
I'd settle for them doing that Zelda song that was erroneously circulated as one of theirs.
Yeah it would be crazy if they made an entire sea cave.
Imagine if SOAD actually would make any new music..
It actually fits, since both Bohemian Rhapsody and many SOAD songs change the feel multiple times throughout the song

Exactly my point! But this is because he does not have a clue of middle eastern culture. Vocal voice wanders around when singing in armenia.

I always thought System of a Down was the metal version of Queen. I respect them both for bringing something new to the music world
How ridiculous.
mastodonseven how so?
@@Maj0rStardust
For one queen would create pop songs to progressive rock.

Now I wish I could actually hear SOAD perform this. This was good, but Serj would slam this out in a way nobody else can.
In his prime probably, but his nasally tone that he's been using now is kind of gross.
Never happen. Apparently Serj and Daron have straight-up had a major falling-out, from what people on /r/music are saying.
