Shinigami are a common myth in Japan. Finding out they exist is like an Irish person finding out leprechauns really exist.
Or simply reapers in the western world. They are the equivalent of that.
She doesn't look it, but Misa is actually two years older than Light. He's 17 here, and she's 19.
@Super Human
That just IF the shinigami kills a lot of humans. Honestly, Jealous probably killed very few people, so he didn't add that much of years. That shinigami probably didn't kill that much.
Also **SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER**
In episode 25, that would explain why Rem is so worried when she knew that Misa cut her lifespan in half again
@Super Human We don't know if that's how it works. It could be like that, but we don't know.
Well, she is actually way older than him,we don't know how old is she but she did made the shinigami eye deal
Spoiler ALERT
She made it twice so...
it’s kinda funny how even though she cut her lifespan twice, she still had a longer lifespan than Light.
Atleast this takes place in Japan were the age of consent isn’t as high.
8:12 Apart from the obvious, another interesting thing about why L freaked out from the word "Shinigami" is because he's encountered the shinigami eyes before. There is a novel called "Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" where L worked with Naomi Misora. The killer in that case had shinigami eyes, but not a Death Note. Then there was Light sending him hints from those inmate messages. All of those things just clicked at once when he heard Misa mention shinigami again.
All things considered I doubt that the novel about the murder cases was thought about when they made this originally. It was only a throwaway line and the novel was years later.
@@genericwhitekidthesecond4330 Possible, but the novel wasn't years later, it actually released before the anime. The scene with L screaming also didn't exist in the manga. He just casually falls off in it. So maybe the scene was altered a bit after the novel's release.
The Shinigami don't have to fall in love with humans, the point is that shinigami will die if Shinigami save people who should have died that day, and that's something that shouldn't have been done by the shinigami. Jealus saved misa's life because of love, so the rem calls it a shinigami's death because of falling in love with humans..Jealus at the time was supposed to write the name of misa that was fated to die on his death note, but because jealus liked misa, she chose to write the criminal's name
No bro he was not supposed to write the name of misa
@@subhamjena7633 She already watched the whole show
Misa Misa is simping for Light the same as Sakura is simping for Sasuke
Bible
Testify!!!
But Misa is still useful while doing it.
@@vinceotero8467 well, not really, because of her they got caught soo...sorry for the spoiler btw
@@evvorok937 I can tell that you haven't seen shippuden entirely lmao.
8:25 that slight pause had me rolling by the phrasing 😂
Tell her that "Shinigami" literally means "Grim Reaper" or "God of Death"..
Shinigamis are God of Death in Japanese culture. But is like God, Zeus, Ra. People don't think they exist.
Plenty of people believe in such things.
well other than god but yeah
Shinigami's are an ingrained thing in the Japanese culture. It's just instead of the grim reaper that we have in the western world. It's not at all a unique idea that came from this anime. In bleach the death gods(or shinigami's) are looking like humans.
Still think L freaked out from the word "Shinigami" because you cant explain them and L needs to know everything at anytime.
of course! L is pragmatic and he's all about everything that's logical and explainable, so can u blame his reaction? Someone like him bumping his head on the supernatural xD
The supernatural is terrifying so it's reasonable for him to react that way.
The first time I saw this episode and Misa wants to be Kiras friend I was thinking she might team up with him😀.
😀
Imagine that you discover that the gods of death really exist, Kira had already told L about the gods of death, and now the other one too, so he deduced that they really exist, imagine the fear of facing a GOD
I like your prediction and energy. Love your reactions, thanks for making them!
Every culture has an interpretation of death, both the aspect and the figure. The Shinigami of Japan are simply the Japanese view on it.
So shinigami are Japanese yokai, yokai are mythical monsters in ancient japan and are gods of death but I don’t know if they have a death note
There is a theory that Misa could live over 300 years because the life of Jealous plus on her own life. (My English is not good. Br here.)
There is no her own life, that was nearly up. But there was her would-be-killer's lifespan, it's possible that she got that too.
Yeah, plus half of Rem’s lifespan
Suzy when will episode 15 and 16 be made public on the website because 15th was supposed to be yesterday and 16th today
Shinigami are just japanese grim reapers. I think they were even inspired off the western image of the grim reaper with the scythe if I remember correctly.
15:56 Ryuk save light haha
the know the word shinigami beacause they are japanese is something of they culture.
What if the shinigami would have killed that man one day prior, without knowing any of the implications. Would it still have counted as saving the girl and in turn meant the end of the shinigami? How many people have been accidentally saved by a shinigami, by killing someone and thus altering the destiny of other people.
_"Would it still have counted as saving the girl and in turn meant the end of the shinigami?"_
No. Also, presumably, Misa would then have been killed at the exact same time but due to different circumstances.
See even those a person acts and looks harmless doesn’t mean they can’t kill
Suzy Lu looks so much like Misa. Cosplay maybe?
Misa so
Light yeah so what ?
Misa would you please make me your girlfriend
Light girlfriend ?
Misa yes
Ryuk laughing
12:51
That's what light is being doing refer to ep 1
Saving victims from horrible people and ofcourse the people who get in the way 🤷🏻♂️
So when they say the shinigami did the right thing and light didn't that's really hypocrite of them
If you never did anything wrong and being a victim and see the karma gets to those people
Who did wrong is Achually what happens in Hinduism
7:55 - 8:06
8:09 - 8:11
How people who gets their knowledge from books (facts) react to folklore (fiction).
Loch Ness monster? Could the Loch Ness monster exist?
L was so shocked because he always investigate to human kind,
contest with human criminal, not a real god of death, which you think it shall never exist.
Shinigami are essentially their equivalent of the Grim Reaper. A God of Death.
7:41 💀💀
Yesssssss i wait for this and get hyped every freakin morning!!!!!!!!!!
13:55 Ding ding ding! BINGO! We have a winner!
I know this is late but I'm still going to explain why L was surprised when the fake kira mentioned the word "shinigami". Remember how Light experimented with the inmates through his father's access to the system? He sent a secret message to L through his experiments which says "do you know that shinigami loves apples?" when deciphered. That was the first time L has heard of the word shinigami regarding the Kira case. So yeah, Misa's thicc af. That saying goes both ways.
15:01
Killed another innocent people
Poor Jealous 😔😔😔
He's just stressed nobody is trying to kill him! You know he's working in the task force against the greatest killer ever existed, he could die any day and his son is suspected by the greatest detective ever existed to be the before told killer! I'D BE STRESSED TOO! He's also a boomer! Of course he's not feeling so good xD
Shinigami could be translated as the sickle-wielding hooded Grim Reaper in an english language context. In english cultures most educated citizens know the reference and similarly most japanese would know the term shinigami. Shi = death, Kami = god (though not the almighty god of the bible but more commonly the japanese mythological multitudes of natural gods)
The contraction of Shinigami transforms the K of Kami to G of -gami.
Hence even if you don't know the reference by just knowing the word death and the word god you could make a fair guess as to the meaning.
I would have loved to see an english live action reimagineing of death note set in european medieval times with Grim Reapers of the english speaking world wearing capes and wielding sickle, having death notes, and manipulating the powerful and the greedy in society.
Despite her looks, Misa is a bit older then Light, same applies to L
Misa ticks me off. She is really intelligent, so its isn't unbelievable that she did all this. I strongly dislike her for various reasons, but she isn't dumb.
Shinigamis are gods of death in their culture
Hey I’m a big fan of your channel and I would love to see your reaction to the plunderer series
Amo tus reacciones 👌
I SEE YOUR REACTIONS BECAUSE I LOVE TO CONTEMPLATE YOUR BEAUTIFUL EYES :)
Read the Lost BB Cases
The only person more badass than Light is Ryuk in episode 37
Pretty much Gelus died because he intentionally extended the life of a human.
Shinigami is the Japanese God of death
You look like my elementary shool teacher... Are you from switzerland ?
She’s beautiful.
1:30 Still no.
