Thankyou for featuring us (the HM Bark Endeavour), as for Dracula, the ship he was on was shipwrecked on Tate Hill sands, the beach just below the Abbey. Bram Stoker used to stay in the Royal Hotel (the big white building on the corner of West Cliff (opposite)) so would look out towards the East Cliff, Abbey and Tate Hill sands.
LOVED the castle ruins. I would not of been able to pass up those chalice's. Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Did you know the swing bridge was built in Nicks home town of Barnsley at Quarter Halls just off Summer Lane 😊
I think the little birds bathing in a puddle were either yellow wagtails or pied wagtails from what I could see of them. Great video guys. Thanks for all the Info and views of Whitby.
This brings back memories! We visited Whitby a few times from Scotland when i was younger. Those looked like Oystercatchers having a little bath 😄
Excellent vlog, Whitby is a lovely place, been a long time since I visited. Thank you for sharing it with us
As much as I said I don't like Brotton when you said you'd stayed there, that cottage is gorgeous!! I lived in Brotton from birth until I was 7, then moved to Skelton (where the Asda is that your Uber driver delivered your shopping from!), and now live in Guisborough (just another 4 miles from skelton). I will check in with you both next time you are up these parts and show you some other gorgeous areas - you would LOVE Roseberry Topping and all the walks in Guisborough Hills. Also Saltburn is a must, and Great Ayton, with one of the most delicious tea rooms on the countryside walk nearby. Was lovely seeing all my local roads on your vlog 😘
Oh my gosh I loved that sand thing, I could spend hours playing with that.
Hi Guy's, great video , Whitby has many special memories for me . Love walking around the Abbey, I noticed a lovely fish restaurant I have been to called Trenchers . I remember all those steps & the great views . C XX
Oh I like that where you move the sand & water , that is a great bit of fun 😁
What a fabulous Vlog, it has made me add Whitby to my list of places to visit 👍👍
Absolutely fantastic there. Ty for sharing with us 🙂
I have really loved this video thank you for taking us too some lovely places x
We really must revisit Whitby, only went once and it was so cold, the fish n chips were spot on x
Thankyou so much on showing Whitby Last time I was there I was pregnant with my eldest and she’s now nearly 30 with a baby nice to see it again
Haven't been to Whitby in years since the kids were small and we stayed at Primrose Valley. It's on the list when we come to Brid next
Honeyz is a lovely shop, I love the soaps from there
Great tour. Thanks for all your hard work in the cold kitchen editing, Leigh!
Loved this vlog we went there in 2019 after seeing your last vlog in Whitby
That brings back some memories. I had my first ever waffle - with cream and strawberry jam - as a kid on the dockside of Whitby harbour sometime in the '70s and none has ever tasted as good since!
By the way - crackers and pesto is just weird! 😄
I think I need to start a Lodge Guys Travel Guide of all the places I want to see because of your vlogs.
😍
Oh bet those houses are cold in winter, cold winds from the sea.
Oh watch those slippy steps nick.
🤣🤣🤣 Leigh's knowledge, move over Judith Chalmers 🤣🤣🤣 you lads do make me laugh 🤣🤣
Dracula? Did I hear Dracula? Now you’re speaking my language… I have been fascinated by vampire and how the heck did I not know about Whitby??? I’m shocked…. You guys taught me something new… I really think it’s a beautiful town …wow! That church was stunning … even crumbling away… I was gonna watch the vlog where yiu went to Dracula store before but the link wasn’t there… can I get the link? Great vlog guys… love you♥️♥️
Hello Whitby from Australia enjoyed the trip vlog guys

Looked like a lovely town Whitby, ye would love Cobh Co.Cork here in Ireland my favourite place to go during the summer.
We were in Whitby yesterday so really enjoyed this video - thanks for posting guys!
Great vlog I love Whitby it’s such an interesting place. You have to go to know
How beautiful is Whitby 😍 I can second never eating food out in the open at the seaside 🤣 being from Llandudno in North Wales I've experienced having my food stolen out of my hand 🤣 #dontfeedthebirds
Absolutely loved this - so much so that we are already looking at AirBNBs around the area so we can go and explore for ourselves.
Really love this style of informative vlog mixed with your usual style 😁
Oh, and have a very Happy Easter (do they do chocolate eggs over there?)
Wow, what beautiful weather you had for a lovely walk around. I've always wanted to visit Whitby purely for the Dracula connection! Love it thanks guys xxx
we love Whitby, we went for the 1st time last Oct and whilst there we went out into the sea on a pirate ship ( Captain cook ship), and when you are out past the lighthouse the rocks have been carved to look like a crocodile on one side, and then when coming back to the harbour there are some rocks which looks like a Whale. Great Vlog
Our favourite place for a day out! The best thing we ever did there was a re-enactment of the Dracula story at the abbey, three actors playing all the parts as we followed them round the ruins. It was hilariously fabulous!
I just love all your videos were hoping to go universal next march wish i could take u guys to show us round you kno so much xx
I’m going to take my American friend to Whitby when he comes over in 2 weeks time. We’ll be doing some of these
I really enjoyed this vlog. Thanks for sharing the history of the area you visited.

Whitby looks so lovely, will definitely have to arrange a visit! xx
That looked like a great day out and Whitby would be a lovely place to visit. You always take us to really nice places on your adventures. 💙💙 xx
Thanks so much
There’s a cafe in Sadlers Yard just hidden back from the cobbles on the way to the Abbey steps and the coffee and cakes are fantastic 😊
You need to come to the Abbey for the illuminated Abbey at the end of October it runs over goth weekend it's absolutley amazing there's stall and food trucks and alot of entertainment with the Abbey lit up looking amazing. Xx
That sounds fab
Enjoyed seeing Whitby, and there is a replica of HMB Endeavour in Sydney at the Maritime Museum. It occasionally takes people up and down the coast on day trips.
Oh nick watch the TV drama Dracula from 2020 now that's a great TV drama , the best one we as a family seen, you will definitely not be disappointed, we were glued to our seats, it was so good we bought it on dvd 👌👌👌 definitely recommend
Agreed (although I wouldn't necessarily classify it as family viewing 😄)
Weird ending though.
You were literally staying a 5 min drive from Saltburn by the sea a beautiful small victorian town, shame you never called there.
Apples thrown at nick, oh that brutal leigh, apples too hard, I was thinking more of Tomatos 🙈🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great vlog, makes want to go back! Goathland =Heartbeat ×
Pleased you visited HMS Bark Eneavour - very interesting...did you find it cramped? Did you also know in the UK we pronounce Lieutenant as 'left'-tenant, whilst in the US its pronounced 'loo'-tenant! :)
Hi guys. This the first time I have commented. This is my husband's email but my name is Kim. I'm Canadian and have been watching you for about a year. I live in Southern Ontario and we have a Whitby also but its at the bottom of an escarpment ( Niagara Falls) also we have a York and Scarborough. Small world. I guess it's because we are a Commonwealth country. Love all the vlogs. You make my day. Instead of always going to Fla. come to Canada in the summer. Keep up all the mooching lol.
Great vlog , how good would that sand picture that you could make things be in school's 😁🇦🇺🇦🇺🙋♀️
Hi guys! Australia (and New Sealand too) where actually "discovered" by the Dutch. The first Europeans to set foot on land were: Willem Janszoon and Abel Tasman. You could not have known. In the UK (school) books will tell you something different 😉😆
Loved Nicks 'no shorts on' shuffle! 🤣
Well if it’s open then it’s clearly not too early lol 👍🏻
we stayed at Driffied and went from Pickering on the train to Whitby, we saw the Pirate Grave in the cemetery too
Those birds “chicks having a bath” look to me like Pied Wagtails
One of my favourite places on East Coast
The little birds were most likely Sandpipers
I have read the original book of “Dracula“ and read the play based on the book, but I didn’t remember exactly where it took place, so this is interesting to see. The Abbey also looks interesting, though I would hate to have to walk up all of those short steps, which seem to me a lot more tiring than regular steps.
I can recommend coming to wales for a few days it’s beautiful here
So pretty!!
Been there it lovely hi hope you both ok x
Durham like that with cobbled streets
🤣🤣🤣 Nick huffin & puffin, climbing those stairs & Leighs as cool as a cucumber not even out of breath 🤣🤣
🤔🤔🤔 Someone need to go back to gym 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh my days. Sooooo beautiful
I thought Nick was going all JoJo in his pants at the beginning
😯😯😯 £40 for a goblet 🙈🙈🙈 shocking
Must of been feezin back then, no glass in windows & just a log fire 🥶🥶🥶
