I feel like Jacksepticeye put it best a while ago, that it was MrBeast who basically changed the entire YT landscape so rhat it was now about the money, the flashiness, and the brand deals instead of everyday people just having fun playing games
(I don’t support the actions he’s been doing this is just about his content) I can’t understand people’s point.. yes he changed the RUclips landscape but how is that blame on him. He found a formula to make the biggest videos on the platform, would he really be inclined to not make the most of an opportunity to become the biggest RUclipsr ever? Like, sure it’s not super healthy for RUclips to constantly have raised stakes but people are already growing tired of it.. just like how everyone stopped being interested in unedited gaming videos, they’re starting to drop off care for flashy spectacles. I mean it’s fairly obvious by MrBeasts last few videos.. he’s been doing less money “challenges” and more focusing on the characters in his videos to make story content. Although I think that the people aren’t well written, that’s kinda gonna happen with real people. He has an obsession with only perfection and I can tell that his new videos aren’t itching that.. the people aren’t super endearing characters. That’s why ages 1-100 part 2 was so good for his channel. He was able to edit the video in a way where 42 was a villian fighting a hero. That’s the kind of characters he wants. But the new videos aren’t hitting that mark anymore. I can tell his creative itch isn’t being met because of how his newer videos are more about survival than crazy flashy challenge. Knowing him he probably wants the survival to be flashy but knows that he can’t genuinely risk the lives of his contestants so he’s making low effort slop like the cave video. He’s starting to go through a slight change that might relax the whole challenge million dollars thing. Despite that this trend is something that’s deep rooted in RUclips now just like the idea of playing video games is. It won’t easily “go away” but it’ll be less absurdly popular than it was a bit ago.
I just realized something that just scared the crap out of me.... RUclips is not allowed to directly advertise to children but they don't give a damn about RUclipsrs doing it, as long as the RUclipsrs are adults. I am really surprised I haven't made that connection sooner.
I'm an underage teenager and I've got loads of scam crypto ads, gambling ads, dating app ads and more from youtube directly. The ads I've gotten might not be targeted specifically at children but if children get them its not good enough.

The other day I got an ad that was advertising some sort of I guess a game or AI chat but the first few seconds of it was a anime woman bouncing on top of a yoga ball bouncing her boobs around. And she was talking about how hot it was... I don't think I need to even divulge with the rest of the ad.. was mostly because I skipped it and was fuming. And I'm straight so that made it even more annoying when I as a woman am getting ads like that.

Sure, it didnt accomplish much in terms of bringing down Mr Beast himself (at least not yet) but it has definitely exposed the internet to how screwed up the business model of his and other channels like his are. It might have done some damage actually. MrBeast has released 3 videos since after the first DogPack video. They got 104M, 116M and 182M views. (Check out his channel page for yourself and you'll see what I mean) That's a ton for any YTer but for MrBeast, he normally gets ~200M views. I get it takes time to build up a view count but being tens of millions short of your average is pretty rough. Now it's ~151M on average (which is -25% in $$$ he gets from views, which is insane. Example: If he was making $400k/video, it's now $300k/video. Over 10 videos, he'd be missing out on $1 million). If it keeps up, he's gonna lose a lot of money.
It was the first step. Before the dogpack video, almost everybody still loved MrBeast. I remember watching the aftermath of dogpacks first video.. it was nasty. Nowhere near enough, but in the future people will be keeping a very close eye and trying to expose more things. With enough effort it can happen

If you count doing similar stuff to what he used to with a little more editing as corporate.. I guess that’s just you. He does similar videos to what he did before making them more watchable. Most of his videos rely on his personality rather than spectacle or editing. The videos have clean but nice editing and good enough stories to do well in modern RUclips. He’s a good example of adapting to modern RUclips without throwing yourself away like MrBeast
Nah, disliked him before too, he broke the algorithm into a feedback loop and because of him I am served slop I do not want to see on my home, shorts and recommended tabs.
Let’s be honest.. most videos don’t really utilize ai or company policies. Most of the channels right now aren’t really corporate. Ai hasn’t been utilized very well because it’s not advanced yet

he did not really see the big picture though. he has great points, and overall, I agree with the video, but if you sht on one, then you have to be critical on the other too. Jaiden said quite a few bad things as well in podcasts, I literally turned away from watching the content. EVERY youtuber who blew up has something to hide and I think it's not an overexageration.

True, but I think Mr.Beast (who began his career filming the homeless for clout) was always bad. I think some people aim for fame and power because they were bad people already. I think their lack of morals helps them get ahead in those power structures. Power doesn't always change, sometimes they were always bad.
I think it really depends on a person and their moral code and if you betray your morals for becoming a brand and leaving your integrity behind then you never had a moral code anyway.

i would love to say that this video is actually super eye-opening.. Genuinely all my for you page rn is drama, commentary, food videos etc. Because these thumbnails and titles are so intriguing and it's purposely made that way. I opened RUclips with no account on a different device and it all had my interest. Art, diy, music, thrifting, alternative history and fashion!!! All made my RUclipsrs who aren't as popular as people who sit in front of a camera and talk about drama and controversies. Ty for making this! I will seek these people

Nobody can bring down Mr. Beast, especially other RUclipsrs. Mr. Beast is the face of RUclips, and can be considered RUclips. Mr. Beast single handily brings in more views and revenue to RUclips than the top 10 RUclipsr channels combined. At the end of the day in business it comes down to the “bottom line”, RUclips will always back their biggest creators.
8:53 you can sell way more units if you sell chocolate or gummies than if you sell a t-shirt. The average customer would only like a few shirts in a year (or more) but they’d likely buy way more food products or other consumables (since they’re consumables) The “healthy” marketing is just so parents are less hesitant to buy it for their screaming children

One thing about charlie is that he hates being called wrong on anything. Just look into Rust OTV shenanigans where he used excuses and detaching himself from all causality when he wrongfully insinuated someone being an asshole. Even his own viewers called it out on him because the person got sent death threats (a good number came from moist's own fanbase iirc). He already fell off for me some years ago and now he's drifting off.

There are so many unpopular opinions in this video that I was thinking for so long 1. MoistCritical literally not saying a word about this. Absolutely insane. 'im done with drama videos" Yet thats all he makes, reddit, youtube, etc. Like to this day he hasnt stopped with them, hes just trying to avoid the MrBeast drama 2. Ryan Trahan being unauthentic. I liked his older videos, but he quickly got way more fake. All of his shots where he acts like its his first time seeing it, I always know he first set up the camera, then faked it completely. Its disappointing. 3. MatPat feastables video where they just brush it off at the end.... I dont think I need to explain this. I was just surprised he brushed it off.

When you go from a simple RUclipsr to corporate? It's usually 50/50 on the outcome. Genuinely one of the best video essays ive ever watched on this platform This is exactly why a lot of the people im subbed to are smaller channels like yours, who actually care about what they talk about and are genuinely passionate about YT. I have a cousin who literally *only* watches inauthentic slop like MrBeast and even LankyBox, and I honestly feel bad for him. He's only like 5 and all i see him watch are glorified advertisements only meant to keep your attention for as long as possible (and you cant even set a watch time limit on RUclips TV, which is really stupid)
For myself when it comes to uploading I just livestream the challenge runs I do to have a record of them. Do I expect to become a big youtuber? No as being even a small youtuber requires an astronomical amount of luck. Ultimately I'm just livestreaming it cause I'd be doing the challenge run anyway. Why not let other people see them if they find my channel
That’s the same philosophy I run my channel on. I like making no damage challenge content. I’m not in it for the money, I’m in it for the fun and passion. Money should never be the main focus. That’s what a job is for. Though being able to make a little bit of money on the side doing what you love is nice. Obviously not the main focus, but a nice little bonus nonetheless.
Pretty excellently made video! Tho for Pegasus, I'd recommend watching his video where he responds to his criticism. As it seems, his thumbnails are only really boring and generic because he uses the ABC testing feature on youtube. And the generic thumbnails are the ones that ended up getting the most clicks. And only made new videos when he found out something new about the topic of Mr. Beast, doing some coverage of the topic whenever something comes along.
Good video overall. Though your whole rant a lot Pegasus made no sense. Just because he is talking a lot about a situation means they are making low effort/meaningless videos. Pegasus’s videos are a good summary of the whole situation which is why they went viral and since people were interested he continued to talk about it. The news literally does the same thing when the Trump shooting happened news studio made multiple videos about the situation does it make it low effort? Well not all of them. Many were giving information that the people wanted to get. An artist or documentary creator could call your video low effort does it make it meaningless no because you are giving us the viewers an interesting take that we are interested of hearing. It is the same as Pegasus. He is giving his audience information they want to hear. It’s OK if you don’t like Pegasus, but your argument about him being meaningless was kind of stupid. It makes me feel that you just saw the thumbnails and thought all the video were bad. Also he can choose to read tweets if he wants to. Some viewers love that. Not everything need to have a “point” to make it meaningful to people. Some people might love a less organized type of video that has more human thoughts and feeling. Not everything needs to be like Sunnyv2, Internet Anarchist, or your style (though their video are great). Also Moist Critikal does not have to make a video. If you friend does something bad you might not want to publicly bash them but rather talk about it privately. If he made a video, it might have some biases which would make people hate it so he might not choose to make a video. At the end of the days he is a general commentary not really a drama channel. He has the right to make any video he pleases. Despite this the video was good.
yeah no I don't like Charlie at all so I think that was deserved; but inasuch as Pegasus is kinda milking it, the videos definitely aren't bad just because they have no editing, or are just him reading off tweets; people like me who don't have twitter and refuse to get it get quite a bit of value from channels just explaining what is even happening on that hellhole of a site. That being said he really could cool off with all the videos because it seems essentially like it goes over the smallest developments that could have very easily been a 5 minute video at max instead of 15 minutes
It's sad that I look up to Mr Beast when he helps the kids in Africa but it turns out that video was fake. Mr Beast reuse the same water containers. That fake smile of Jimmy has really shown his face.

something that really soured my image of charlie was actually ludwig's mogul mail on the mrbeast situation. ludwig had that dogshit stream "addressing" the drama and it was clear that he wasn't giving too much of a shit and was just stalling in hopes of not dealing with a massive drama like this. his proper response to everything in his mogul mail is exactly the kind of honesty that commentary youtubers that is uniquely close to mrbeast (in this case charlie and ludwig) should be showing.
I’m gonna say it. RUclips has never been a good platform. Before you witch hunt me, let me explain. Sure, MrBeast wasn’t as big as he was, people weren’t being in drama as much and RUclips didn’t feel corporate, but there was still some bad stuff happening. Like for example, Leafyishere still had a platform at this time and people who were fans of him did massive hate brigades and bigotry on anyone or anything that their Leafy god deemed as cringe and the victims of his bullying ranged from children to people with disabilities to everyone in between. There was also people who still remembered Chris Chan existed and that guy’s a walking rabbit hole who just so happened to be a Sonic fan which caused people to associate every sonic fan with Chris Chan and other infamous individuals who were Sonic fans. I could go into more but I don’t want to make more people upset than I probably already did.

I opened RUclips with no account on a different device and it all had my interest. Art, diy, music, thrifting, alternative history and fashion!!! Just look into Rust OTV shenanigans where he used excuses and detaching himself from all causality when he wrongfully insinuated someone being an asshole. Even his own viewers called it out on him because the person got sent death threats (a good number came from moist's own fanbase iirc). He already fell off for me some years ago and now he's drifting off.

I really like how you brought up that Penguinz0 hasn't brought up the controversy yet. And I'd like to bring up that AMP, one of the biggest twitch/youtube groups made a whole video WITH Mr Beast, and I'm positive they deleted comment's talking about the whole drama, but no one seems to talk about it.
Mr Beast is still growing, his drop in views is just normal part of RUclips views. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down.

1. MoistCritical literally not saying a word about this. Absolutely insane. 'im done with drama videos" Yet thats all he makes, reddit, youtube, etc. Like to this day he hasnt stopped with them, hes just trying to avoid the MrBeast drama
2. Ryan Trahan being unauthentic. I liked his older videos, but he quickly got way more fake. All of his shots where he acts like its his first time seeing it, I always know he first set up the camera, then faked it completely. Its disappointing.
3. MatPat feastables video where they just brush it off at the end.... I dont think I need to explain this. I was just surprised he brushed it off.

This is exactly why a lot of the people im subbed to are smaller channels like yours, who actually care about what they talk about and are genuinely passionate about YT. I have a cousin who literally *only* watches inauthentic slop like MrBeast and even LankyBox, and I honestly feel bad for him. He's only like 5 and all i see him watch are glorified advertisements only meant to keep your attention for as long as possible (and you cant even set a watch time limit on RUclips TV, which is really stupid)
For myself when it comes to uploading I just livestream the challenge runs I do to have a record of them. Do I expect to become a big youtuber? No as being even a small youtuber requires an astronomical amount of luck.
Ultimately I'm just livestreaming it cause I'd be doing the challenge run anyway. Why not let other people see them if they find my channel
That’s the same philosophy I run my channel on. I like making no damage challenge content. I’m not in it for the money, I’m in it for the fun and passion. Money should never be the main focus. That’s what a job is for. Though being able to make a little bit of money on the side doing what you love is nice. Obviously not the main focus, but a nice little bonus nonetheless.
Pretty excellently made video! Tho for Pegasus, I'd recommend watching his video where he responds to his criticism. As it seems, his thumbnails are only really boring and generic because he uses the ABC testing feature on youtube. And the generic thumbnails are the ones that ended up getting the most clicks. And only made new videos when he found out something new about the topic of Mr. Beast, doing some coverage of the topic whenever something comes along.

Though your whole rant a lot Pegasus made no sense. Just because he is talking a lot about a situation means they are making low effort/meaningless videos. Pegasus’s videos are a good summary of the whole situation which is why they went viral and since people were interested he continued to talk about it. The news literally does the same thing when the Trump shooting happened news studio made multiple videos about the situation does it make it low effort? Well not all of them. Many were giving information that the people wanted to get. An artist or documentary creator could call your video low effort does it make it meaningless no because you are giving us the viewers an interesting take that we are interested of hearing. It is the same as Pegasus. He is giving his audience information they want to hear. It’s OK if you don’t like Pegasus, but your argument about him being meaningless was kind of stupid. It makes me feel that you just saw the thumbnails and thought all the video were bad. Also he can choose to read tweets if he wants to. Some viewers love that. Not everything need to have a “point” to make it meaningful to people. Some people might love a less organized type of video that has more human thoughts and feeling. Not everything needs to be like Sunnyv2, Internet Anarchist, or your style (though their video are great).
Also Moist Critikal does not have to make a video. If you friend does something bad you might not want to publicly bash them but rather talk about it privately. If he made a video, it might have some biases which would make people hate it so he might not choose to make a video. At the end of the days he is a general commentary not really a drama channel. He has the right to make any video he pleases.

yeah no I don't like Charlie at all so I think that was deserved; but inasuch as Pegasus is kinda milking it, the videos definitely aren't bad just because they have no editing, or are just him reading off tweets; people like me who don't have twitter and refuse to get it get quite a bit of value from channels just explaining what is even happening on that hellhole of a site. That being said he really could cool off with all the videos because it seems essentially like it goes over the smallest developments that could have very easily been a 5 minute video at max instead of 15 minutes

something that really soured my image of charlie was actually ludwig's mogul mail on the mrbeast situation.

RUclips has never been a good platform. Before you witch hunt me, let me explain.
Sure, MrBeast wasn’t as big as he was, people weren’t being in drama as much and RUclips didn’t feel corporate, but there was still some bad stuff happening. Like for example, Leafyishere still had a platform at this time and people who were fans of him did massive hate brigades and bigotry on anyone or anything that their Leafy god deemed as cringe and the victims of his bullying ranged from children to people with disabilities to everyone in between. There was also people who still remembered Chris Chan existed and that guy’s a walking rabbit hole who just so happened to be a Sonic fan which caused people to associate every sonic fan with Chris Chan and other infamous individuals who were Sonic fans. I could go into more but I don’t want to make more people upset than I probably already did.
RUclips has always had it's problems the difference is that it keeps getting more and more corporate every year and makes out of touch decisions like removing the dislike count
