Osman show: Safiye killed my mother ( even if it was indirectly) but I will visit her she can be only good XD
Also. Safiye historical had great softness for her great grand childrens like Osman and Murad ( after all Murad named one of his daughters Safiye). Seems that she find in her own way a redemption and she know she would never be in power again, so the best thing to do is try to repair some of her mistakes.
Safiye show: Don't care that my era is finished. Would do any desperate plot that will only lead her to big trouble (and have a big plot armor like everyone else ). Would be ready to kill Osman.

@Leo Yes true. I'm mixed that Kosem (and Ahmed) didn't tell Osman. On the one hand it is not good at all for a child to be involved in political intrigues (you just have to see Dilruba) on the other hand he is the eldest son of the Sultan and therefore he is important that he knows early on who his enemies are in order to be well prepared for his task (and we have seen that the fact that he is inexperienced brought him an atrocious end).

I wish more appearance of Fatma and Ayse (just looking at Ayse's marriage records could have been interesting) and they forgot Hanzade.
Gulbahar must be a cursed name because everytime a concubine was named Gulabahar she was the least liked of the Sultan ( Gulbahar mother of Bayezid II even if she would
will become in a way a precursor of the Valide, Gulbahar the mother of Selim Yavuz, Mahidevran is sometimes called Gulbahar). It seems that having nicknamed them according to their appearances alone shows that the Sultans never sought to understand their personalities well (their favorites were often nicknamed for their personalities like Hurrem, Kosem). But then generally these women were nominated by those they had educated

I watched recently the mini series Fatih and Gulbahar gives me Turhan vibes(I'm glad how they portrayed her, thankfully not like Handan and Mahidevran-cry babies).
Cicek Hatun was mixed version of Halime and Hurrem.
The rivalry between Cicek and Gulbahar was actually interesting.
However,Mehmed prefered Mustafa(son of Gulshah Hatun)idk why they didn't included her, because she outlived her son historically.
They also didn't includ Mukrime Hatun,Helena Hatun,Ana Hatun and Hatice Hatun.
But anyway,i don't like how they made Bayezid and Gulbahar the villains(i mean it wasn't like that)and Mehmed was the good one there.
Also i think Mehmed II deserved also the title "worst" sutan in terms like Mehmed III and Suleiman I.
His favourite was Cicek Hatun, and he made the law, which meant death of their son.
      True about Gulbahar Hatun.
      What a coincidence.
She was also named as her mother in law.
Also Mihrishah Sultan was named after her mother in law too, and Bulbul Hatun(concubine of Sehzade Ahmed)after Sehzade Ahmed's mother and Gulnus Kadin(concubine of Ahmed III)after her mother in law.
But unlike her mother in law,Gulbahar Hatun(mother of Selim I)seemed like she had very strong personality and Selim had inherited that from her.
      Unfortunately, Gulbahar died early.
Not to be misundesrtand, i mean Gulbahar Hatun(mother of Bayezid II)was very powerful too,but Gulbahar Hatun(mother of Selim I)and Selim I seemed to me kinda similar as Kosem and Murad(based on their life in Trabzon).

@@drfhgs428 In fact the three Gulbahar( mother of Bayezid II, mother of Selim I and later Mahidevran) had a lot of parralels with Turhan. Especially Mahi and Turhan (they got a lot of commons except that Mustafa had a strong personnality and made his misfortunes with his father a strength, unlike Mehmed who relied too much on his mother ). For Gulbahar mother of Bayezid II I think she had a lot of strenght and personnality otherwise she won't be able to help her son, you can't be in her position and don't know to impose yourself.
Mehmed II was like Bayezid II ( he never let a chance to Selim who was in fact a ruler efficient and he wa sready to abdicate for Ahmed which provoke Selim and Korkut death) and later Suleiman I ( who surpassed them all except Mehmed III and the worst was Ibrahim I). It seems that Selim respected even womens who were not his favorite ( in fact it seems that he liked a lot Sah Hubban even if she was not the daughter of Hafsa, even if Hatice was his favorite) but on the other way he would be stupid if he disrepect Ayse who was a princess crimean.
Yes I wish a show on Gulbahar ( mother of Selim) if she had the same personnality than her son ( and it is probably because she learned him how to rule, bit imagine her as a stepmother XD. No we shoudn't judge her too much after all Turhan had a strong personnality too but was lenient to Gulnus)
it is that she should not let herself face Bayezid II ( I would be totally on her side).
I like Cicek Hatun too. She too had a strong personnality.
Mehmed II was one of the actor of rise of Ottoman Empire but he could be terrible ( for all the reasons you cited,
he diminished charity for more pay for the Jannisaries, carried out a massacre in Constantinople and seriously underestimated his son Bayezid (Bayezid will make the same mistake with Selim). But unlike Suleiman, he was not one of the actors in the fall of the Ottoman Empire.
Good about the show because it is frustrating to have a great historical characters and being butchered like that ( Gulbahar and Cicek)
P.S: Where did you see this show Fatih in egnlish subtitles? I search it but I don't find it

@@nesiacha3659 Yes,that's why i wrote not to be misunderstood,i agree about Gulbahar(Bayazid's mother)and Turhan-they had a lot of strength and very strong personality too.
But they were also kind hearted too, patient, and lenient too, while for the other Gulbahar idk really.
I actually agree about Gulbahar(Selim's mother),i also wonder how was her relationship with Gulbahar(her mother in law)and Hafsa(her daughter in law).
What i meant was based on her personality and her influence in Trabzon,i don't think that she would be very kind and lenient, like the Turhan and Gulbahar(her mother in law),but you are right since she never become Valide Hatun,we can only assumed that and speculate it.
Yes Selim respected women, even his daughter Shah who wasn't Hafsa's daughter and Hatice who was his favourite daughter. But i also think that he loved Suleiman too. And that their relationship is underrated.Selim saw Suleiman as his heir, and the biggest credit goes to Hafsa here(how she handled it that situation).
I also like Cicek Hatun. She had strong personality too(it's sad that she outlived her son Cem).
Suleiman later will execute her grandson and great grandsons(I think they showed it in the series MC but not exactly as how it was).
Agree about Mehmed II and Bayezid II.
Honestly, Mehmed II, Bayezid II and Suleiman I were bad fathers.
But yes Suleiman I, Murad III, Mehmed III and Ibrahim I surprassed them in that mater.
About the series,i watched in Turkish as i understand the language, even though i don't speak it fluently.
It is in dailymotion and it's also in RUclips, but idk if there are english subtitles.

@@drfhgs428 Agreed about Suleiman I Murad III and Mehmed III ( but Ibrahim surpassed them all).
The show Fatih has spanish subtitles but only for four episodes :(
If you see this show with subtitles english told me please :)
Wish we could have a translator.
I search mini serie on Murad IV who dates on 1981 hope I will find it someday and with translations
Yes Selim saw Suleiman as his heir ( but Suleiman was lucky to the only heir alive , even if I don't buy to the legend that Selim killed all his sons for let Suleiman be heir , but I think that if he had suspicions about Suleiman he could killed him. Kudos to Hafsa for managed to be his favorite).
Yes agree about Gulbahar mother of Selim but we could only speculate.
I wish that Gulbahar was alive for seeing her son Selim to be on the throne ( and have revenge on Bayezid II ) so that's why I am glad that Ibrahim see Turhan became Valide after he mistreat her badly ( Suleiman , Murad III and Mehmed III won't unfortunately have theirs punishments).

      @@nesiacha3659 Agree about Hafsa,Gulbahar and Ibrahim I.
Yes I'm also glad that Ibrahim saw Turhan become Valide Sultan.
I also don't get the legend that Selim killed all his sons for Suleiman to be the only heir.
They died probably of natural causes.
The show Fatih had 5 episodes actually, but it's interesting.Yes if i found english subtitles i will tell.
I didn't know about the mini series of Murad IV.
I watched the movie Mahpeyker Kosem from 2010,and it was very bad.
In the begining only Kosem,Ahmed,Mahfiruze,Handan and Safiye were shown.
And only Murad and Ibrahim as the only children of Ahmed and Kosem.
      There weren't Halime,Mustafa,Osman,Kasim and others.
The movie was focuse more on the rivalry between Kosem and Turhan.
Later they showed adult Ibrahim,Turhan and Dilashub and childreen Mehmed and Suleiman.
Turhan there gave the order to Janissaries to kill Kosem,it was just really bad movie.
MCK is more better than that movie.
And that Roxelana show is also worse than MC.
I also tried to find the movie Intimate Power it's about Naksidil Sultan from 80's,based on the legend that she was cousin of French Empress Joséphine, but i can't find it.There is only trailer in youtube.
It's seems interesting to me,even now that is confirmed that Naksidil was concubine of Georgian origin.
