- this one might have been my longest recording ever....... if i didnt lose a chunk of it. it really took forever due to all the hybrids but i think these guys came out so good
(also in the recording i thought i had lost a lot more footage than i actually did, so thats why i reacted so badly ghfjsj in truth it was really only the pinkieford that i lose the recording for which still sucks but its not as bad as i thought!)

Explicit Content yes, just because of the extra add-ons like the horn, scales and fluff. if i have to change or add onto the basic pony anatomy (not counting things like hooves or eye shape changes) then its a hybrid.
(i will say i was and still am very disappointed with the way kirins are portrayed in the show :-/ its just the basic pony shape with extra stuff slapped onto it with no changes to the base silhouette. kinda seems like a fan creation or something)

Umbreon The great okay, i can see that you might have been trying to be helpful - like MAYYYBE i didnt know this already. but i do have dozens of these videos on my channel that ive been posting for a year and a half, so i've already gotten that same suggestion many times.
so what i mean is, im not saying that you were trying to be rude, but that maybe you should think about if what youre pointing out is obvious already. like, i dont think anyone titling their base edits "speedpaint" isnt already aware that people will get up in arms about it. its kind of a common thing for people to get mad about.
and also my point still kinda stands, like why do people care that much?

dragonairlover Well that can go either way since you have videos titled “speedpaint” for a year and a half, it might seem like you’re unaware of how it’s called “base edit”. People also might care a lot about the title because saying “speedpaint” may make people think it’s all original and drawn exclusively by yourself so calling it a base edit will give people a heads up. :p (of course I’m not forcing you to rename it, it’s your video)

Max_ Isn't_Mad i dont actually take straight-up mane 6 base commissions. this commission was attached to the designs i made (the ones in the ref, i made that). the base edit and video are both freebies i give to whoever commissions me to design a mane 6/7. also, my commissions arent open right now but i plan on having them open hopefully by the end of the year.

Vixen Amber it used to be $15 but i think i'll probably be upping it to $20 when i re-open commissions (since theyre closed at the moment).

Vixen Amber so the commission is for the reference sheet where i draw everything from scratch, and then as an added bonus i also make these speedpaints on the base.

Vixen Amber i take them via the commission widget on deviantart, so it converts points to money that i can take out. i also take paypal if someone doesn't have points - i kinda prefer the commission widget since it saves the commission details in a list, but either is fine since i do have a list in my phone notes too.

Hey I understand that she may copy bases from the internet but most of them are for free and she doesn’t just colour them in and add detail I’ve done this myself and I think it’s amazing cause you need to get exactly the right colours and deatails and the hair you could see she drew by herself and I think she could draw ponies with her own style but don’t be mean about it at least she trying cause I bet she can be better than you

Why just why
That was not a speed paint, all you did was trace add accessories or change the colours. And you claim this as your art? Your a tracer and you know it.
Who spit in your bean curd? They used a base, which yes, isnt the same as drawing from scratch, but you don't have to act like a dick when adressing it. Also, it's "You're" not "Your".

hey, listen. It's a free base which is allowed. They are using it for what it was created for and the show also uses bases that they created. They 're a tracer either such they drew on elements from reference. I would have agreed with you if it was a straight up recolour but it's not. It's their art so it's cool. There's nothing wrong with using free bases, using them doesn't make anyone less of an artist.
