OH MY GOSH!.. My heart aches. I am a retired grief counselor. I encourage you to go slow and be gentle. Watch out for well-meaning people. They mean well yet sometimes it doesn't help. As a couple and family, grief hits everyone differently. Moods can change and give distance. I don't mean to intrude. You don't let go,,, you take them with you it's just the transition period, or that is my experience. May the Lord Bless you and Keep you!

My heart aches for your loss of beloved Abigail. I lost my Son a week after his 20th birthday. It's the most pain you can ever endure making the decision, standing next to your child of whether you can save them or not. Your mind says save them, your heart says let them go in peace. Then the reality of the service hits you like a ton of lead. I know for myself I questioned if I made the right choice. The emotional Rollercoaster is exhausting, but in some form you will find peace. I still feel the pain, but I know he is my guardian Angel. Abigail is your shinning light, & your guardian Angel now. Do not despair as Abigail rests in the arms of the lord .She will not be forgotten as she is in our hearts and, rejoice in the knowledge that her name will carry on the wind and the sea will speak her name and will make you smile with the love of a mother and father. A sound a word a noise and you will swear Abigail has spoken. It's a sad and lonely time but she is and will always be with you.

May she rest peacefully. Having lost my wife four months ago my advice is. one. Accept all the help offered from those close to you. Two, do not make any decisions about the future for the next two months.

I’ve followed your family since we were neighbors on the hard at house of boats in rock port and while I knew storms lay in your path I could not imagine this one. I’m sad for you and your family. Boat life may not be over, but it will be different and well met by strong people like you guys.

That's one of the hardest things - for parents to lose their child. Being a father myself I can't even imagine what you've been through..The only thing left is to keep living.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my Son in July of ‘21. I believe your daughter came to you and talked to you in your head. My Son did the same to me. I told a couple family members but I know they just wanted to chalk it up to grief. I was asking him questions but when I asked him a certain question he gave me an answer that I would have never in a million years thought up in my mind. It could have only came from my son, I’m certain. I believe I will see my son again too. Hugs and prayers.

I have lost a brother, mother and father, nothing can compare to loss of your daughter. Today is the anniversary of my mother's death. We as a family remind each other to take note but in reality it is the small remembered times we have each day that matter. You know what I'm saying, you'll never forget so she will always be with you.

My dearest Tammy and Todd I lost my mother, my lifelong best friend and one of my 10 year old twins this year. Sometimes it's just about breaking grief waves down into minutes. A while back, I made a comment, to you, about a problem you talked about. You all had just finished painting the hull sides that turquoise blue, the boat was in the water, and it scraped on something, You seemed so upset. I sent a comment saying that was such a small thing and I told you it didn't matter. Now I'm sure you see, paint means nothing but a loss of a loved one puts life in a more accurate perspective. I too will miss hearing the teenage responses to your requests to her, I used to laff out loud, my children are all out of the house, so you made me remember that time. You seem like a wonderful family, seems Todd still has a vision, and your support/leadership will guide him. Thanks for the insite to your family and the joy you all live with. I will keep watching if you keep posting.

We're so incredibly sorry for your loss. When our son was beginning to slip away, I asked myself, my wife, and his care team. "Are we fighting to give him another day, or are we fighting to give ourselves another day?" I quickly realized that it was the latter, and the decision to stop became very clear. You two have been so strong throughout this, but it's okay to not be okay, too. As a guy, I felt that I had to be a rock for my wife and our other 9 kiddos, so I didn't really let myself process as much as I should have. It's been a year now, and I still struggle with it at times. So, I don't know if Todd is like most of us guys, but if so, it's really important to know that it's okay to not be okay for a while. Continued prayers for your family's healing 🙏

Dear Tammy and Todd,
I cry with you and know what you are going through. See many similarities and despite we know where our children are. in a place that we cannot imagine together. There is a hole in our hearts and it literally hurts physically. Share your faith and I hope that you can experience God's love, even in this sad time.
Through all of this we have become part of your family and let us share in it and, especially when the time comes, do things that you loved to do again because that is certainly what Abegail would want. If you would like more contact, I am certainly open to it and invite you, but there is no expectation for you. only then preferably via a different medium.
