- Today we are back in one of the most beautiful areas in Switzerland, Lavaux!
Spoilt by nature, Lavaux is one of Switzerland’s most beautiful regions among other historic, scientific, sport, winetouristic and even artistic attractions.
The period of the drive is during the harvest.
Before being recognized by UNESCO in 2007, this harmony between man and nature already enchanted contemplative walkers and inspired artists.
Sit back and enjoy this scenic drive.

Such a beautiful place. Such great views at the top and at the lower slopes. Picking a place to live might be a challenge
with so many options of great views.
It’s a UNESCO heritage spot. The views are absolutely incredible!!!! Difficult to find better hahaha

I only recently realised how much wine comes from Switzerland (4 times as much as from Canada, though Canadian wines are mostly terrible, except ice wines!). I try wines from all over the world but don't recall ever seeing, let alone drinking, any Swiss wines.
Thanks for your message. Some approximate numbers related to Swiss wine:
1. **Vineyard Area:** Switzerland has around 15,000 hectares of vineyards.
2. **Annual Production:** The annual wine production in Switzerland is typically around 1.1 to 1.3 million hectoliters.
3. **Per Capita Consumption:** Swiss people are known for their appreciation of local wines. The per capita wine consumption in Switzerland is roughly 35 liters per year.
4. **Grape Varieties:** Chasselas is a prominent white grape variety, covering about one-third of the total vineyard area. Pinot Noir is a significant red grape variety.
5. **Number of Wineries:** There are over 3,000 wineries in Switzerland, reflecting the importance of small-scale and family-owned operations in the Swiss wine industry.
Keep in mind that these figures can vary slightly from year to year and may have changed since.
