The no gun war of '63 is merely glossed over in history classes everywhere, sadly.

"Old Navy"
That kills me every time.

Classic Winger.
Guile Britta'd his interview.
I guess he just wanted a Chang of direction in his life
i need you guys to stop making jokes and help me find this goddamn pen
His performance was streets ahead.

General Mills did a damn fine job of leading our boys of the Old Navy to victory.
In the Europe War?

You too huh? General Mike Mills, Colonel Sanders and Captain Crunch. All great men, we were lucky serve under them.
I donned a blue polo for the first time during the T-Day offensive in late November of 2013. For their failures many of our generals have been let go. God have mercy on their souls

Speaking as a decorated veteran of the 1980's cola wars I can empathize with him.
I'm sorry we didn't listen to you guys which resulted in the Nintendo/Sega war of the 90s, many lives lost
Thank you for your service.
I wish I could have been there fighting with you but during the 80s I got into a bad batch of pudding pops and can't recall much of what happened after that. It's all a bit of a fog.

Fun fact: Guile is born in 1960, that means he fought in the 1963 gun-less war of Europe as a baby, what a hero!

“I don’t believe you! But that’s what I’m gonna put...”

USA! USA! USA!
Finally!!!!!!!
I don't want to work in an office that won't start chanting USA if someone begins it.

There were no outtakes for this one because McHale came in and nailed it on one go. Consummate professional.
The new Bat-Canned videos reminded me that these gems exist
Did anyone else notice the flag tattoo on Guile's right arm is reversed exactly the same way his sprite in the old games is drawn when the character flips from facing left to right? Amazing detail...
that is because the flag must always move/face forward
Correct.
Capcom of Japan really did yheir research on our US military uniforms. So the American flag is supposed to fly forward.
-Phoenix
That´s how all the flags in american soldiers uniforms are, so they´re always facing forward...
@@ryanphoenix3205 Funny how we defeated the Japanese, and yet they show reverence to us with Guile. Thank you Japan.

General Mills
Hahahahahahahahaha
+SaintLucifer I do. eventhubs.com seems an interesting website.
Go to Boot Camp in Camp Boot
If it's the war of 63 BC it's plausible.
"I have heard of war" - "I dont believe You, but that's what we are gonna go with".
I am entertained by the dumb idiocy of the character
"I'm too fascinated to stop asking questions-"
These will be great until the end of time.
Thank you, Pete.
Love your You Made It Weird show.
Guile actually fly a plane right below enemy's plane, open the cockpit and flash kick to chop enemy's plane in half. That's why he doesn't worry about being shot by bullets.
I freakin' love this one... And all of them.
He fought in a war, the European one--the war of '63. He is in the Old Navy, under General (Mike) Mills, and he did bootcamp in Camp Boot.
"I'm too fascinated to stop asking you these questions you have to make up lies for."
Pete Holmes is awesome (and adorable).
Great, you watched the same video as the rest of us, whats with the recap? Are you assuming we're all deaf ?

Why do you, talk like, this
You need to understand, right after Guile joined the US Navy in 1963 he was selected to be the test subject for a time machine develooed by DARPA, as a result he was sent back in time in medieval Europe, where he ended up fighting in various wars there. He was then brought back in 1992, and the stress of time travel messed up his memory.
Guile is Air Force...
And very... very Merica!
Even though he seems more like Marine lol
while wearing Army colors
Isn't the big joke that Gulie is actually a foreigner?
If Guile was truly a major in the Air Force, hopefully he sued his tattoo artist for tattooing the flags the wrong way.

OH wow the outtakes on this one must be glorious. You can see a huge cut in the middle of it where they both probalbly cracked up. I am so happy they made Guile's character like this in real life.

To be fair the no gun war of 63 was bloody as hell
I remember fighting for the old Navy in 1963, I can confirm his story
Fun Fact:
Guile was born in the year 1960.
HOW GUILE CAN BE TELLING THE TRUTH
In 1963, Spanish workers chose to go on strike and protest work conditions in Asturian mines during the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco. Franco responded by using the police force to use extensive violence and brute force. Gun ownership is extremely restrictive and not at all a right in Spain and the police were not allowed to use guns to do so.
The miners declared themselves rebels and freedom fighters, claiming they were 'going to war' with Franco's dictatorship. If the U.S. were ever to send people in to support either side during this politically figurative "war" that did not use any guns in the year of 1963 and took place in the region of Europe geographically and politically recognized as the country of Spain, they would be forced to adhere to the no-gun rules.
Also, while a pilot, Guile could very easily have been either a Navy pilot or an Air Force pilot. As it happened in '63, he could have been with the Navy at the time. His stage in Street Fighter games does depict U.S. air force jets with the U.S. Air Force logo on the ground, however Joint Base Andrews has both Navy and Air Force aircraft but is still considered an AIR FORCE base.
There are multiple Generals with the last names Miles, Mills or Mils. One of them is bound to have the first name "Mike". If in the Street Fighter universe, one of the Joint Cheifs of Staff is an Army Generaly named Mike Mills and chose to work with him directly, it would explain the usage of an Army General in charge of a Navy/USAF Pilot.
BWAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Eat it, Petie! I love you but I can make ANY bullsnot you make up...into some form of TRUTH!! HAHAHAHAA!

Dan Krolikowski What do you expect he got that strong being in camp boot boot camp.
Joel is so underrated.
I wish it were John Cena instead.
Guile is STREETS AHEAD!
The mirror flipped flag on one shoulder, ha ha! :)
+Brad Smith Actually the way it's displayed on him is correct. The flag should always be assaulting in a forward direction. And being that the flag is hung with the stars closest to the pole, they should always be in front
+Kevin Kehres I've heard this before, and it's pretty interesting. In the game, though, I'm pretty sure it was really just because all the characters had to be symmetrical. Do you think they would have known it was really correct, or would they thought of it as a compromise they were accepting to keep the memory budget down?
+Brad Smith They knew it was correct, but you're right that they had to work around memory limitations. Notice that DeeJay's pants say "MAXIMUM" down the side? Every one of those letters is horizontally symmetrical. Same deal. They knew that they were going to flip the sprite around.
+thevoxdeus but sometimes they didn't bother. Like how Vega's claw keeps switching hands.
+Bill Volk Or Sagat's eye patch switches eyes.

Colonial Guile has always been a very discipline leader; a very hard meaning figure. A man with one mission; style and attitude. In deals; in the arts of fighting on Air Force Bases. Where people are loading dangerous packages...

No employee may ask what war you fought in. All they can ask for is your DD214 to verify veteran status. Only the member 1 (short form) is required. Member 4 (long) is required if obtaining veteran services though government programs.
Probably the funniest one yet. Keep up the great work Pete!
Jeff's salary in Greendale is so low that he needs to play Guile in internet sketches.

Season 6 of community begins with Jeff and Britta enlisting in the army to try to find purpose. He first goes to camp boot where his boot camp instructor gets on his ass about always standing and texting, but luckily Drill Instructor Dean Pelton has a soft spot for Winger and gives him one more chance. (Many don't ask don't tell jokes are made this season.) With the help of evil Jeff he learns to become a soldier and his troop is the best the camp has ever produce.
Season 7 of community: War breaks out in Europe, but the countries have agreed to not use nuclear weapons or lethal weapons of any kind. Jeff's troop being the top new reqruits are sent to win the war for the allies armed only with paint balls, which was the international agreed upon method of fighting. Reenter Troy and Abad who must defeat the evil Axis powers lead by none other than General Pierce Hawthorne. Spoilers: Things look bad for Jeff and the Allies until Sergent Chang reveals that he has been a double agent and rejoins Jeff's side of the fight. Using Changs aquired knowledge about the enemy defenses, they are able to take on the entire remaining Axis troops after enlisting the help of two mercenaries that swore they would never fight again, Shirley Bennett and Annie Edison. General Mills couldn't have been prouder.
Then at the end of the season. In a twist reveal, it turns out that Jeff was a soldier who died in Iraq. The entire series of community was him seeing his life flash before his eyes as he took the IED blast meant for his squadmates. What a man that Winger was. God bless General Mills for his enstoolment (Not the word I intended, but no bullshit, that's what it autocorrected to and I'll be damned if I change it.) of honor and discipline, in the once man child-like, Jeff Winger.
He is survived by his "Preggers GF" (as quoted from the Greendale Alumni Obituaries), Britta. Who will name their child Jeff Winger II even though it is a girl. Because, feminism!
Man I miss community
I would watch series upon series of a show featuring Joel McGuile.
I was laughing so hard at this one, I couldn't breath.
How did RUclips know I'm re-watching Community on Hulu and suddenly stick this into my recommendations after 6 years?
From the Wiki: "Early Street Fighter II sketches and notes suggest that Guile was developed specifically to appeal to American fans. "
Also, he's apparently a Commander in the Air Force. So I guess he flew in real close to Flash Kick everyone.
Him fighting at an Airforce Base was kinda a clue to that.
It's better when you realize his story technically checks out in SF Alpha canon.
