Only machine that would start reliably, in the middle of winter on the Eastern front in WW2. The cold would also kill all the batteries in trucks etc......so the Bulldog would tow start them all after their engine sumps had been thawed out by fires built underneath.
Three gears in main and a Split selector for high and Low gear ratio makes 6 Gears in total and that equals 40 Km per hour speed needs double clutching to shift : It´s not easy to start but also not easy to drive
@@tvpoco8498 this one has a l fast Transmission for road use. It worked in Transport or showmans Industriy therefore it is faster than the avetage farm version

Exactly, They used to be able to haul the heavy artillery in all weathers. There are some great pictures.

A simple sliding Sleeve might have made Pulling the steering wheel safer .
They left factory that way in the thousands.
