Hi everyone! I know now that standing in front of my sideboard made the image really dark, I didn't realise when filming. I have since solved this issue in future videos and you no longer need to leave comments about it 😅 Thank you! xxx
Hi Adeline, I studied fashion design . The ribbed cardigan might pill so quickly because the thread is made from really short wool fibres (=lower quality wool). Thus the thread is less stable and falling apart quicker than one made from longer fibres.
I’m actually kind of glad to hear that the wide leg trousers are a bit more wide legged since I’m midsized (maybe a 31 inch waist). It sounds like they may fit me well!
Great review, Adeline! I had the same problem with the pleated wide trousers. I really wanted to love them since everyone’s been raving about them, but they were too wide for me too. I do like their merino pieces though! Not the most premium, but for the price, they’re hard to beat. Hope you feel better soon!
I don't know where Uniqlo she shops, but Unqlo caters to 5'2" people and petite shapes because that's the average Japanese body. Slim and short. Short legs and longer torso. The trousers looked ok
You’ll be pleased to know I just invested in better lights (ready for the next video!) and I have been looking at rugs 😂 this room I film in is sadly so dark!
Great video. I only wish you would show the outfits you're wearing against the white wall since some darker pieces are really hard to see when you standin front of the brown piece of furniture.
I'm so sorry! The room I film in is so dimly lit. But I just received new filming lights this week and I am on the hunt for a light coloured rug so that my floor is not so dark 🥰
Great video Adeline!! I love when you do comparison videos. Please keep them coming. Would love to know your go-to outfits this autumn ♥️and if you don't mind linking the shirt youre wearing, its gorgeous!
I've tried on their cashmere crew neck jumper and it wasn't softer than wool. I think their cashmere jumpers are preferable to their wool jumpers but I would stay away from Uniqlo nowadays for natural fibers as those items will break apart quickly. It used to be much better. I have yet to tey their heattech tops from this season, I hope those ones are still okay
Thanks Adeline. I shop at Uniglo in Adelaide when I visit from NZ. No Uniglo stores here unfortunately. Love their basics but agree you need to be selective with fabrics etc. Must check out the mens section next time!!
If you are still looking for the right black trousers, I highly recommend GU's trousers. GU is Uniqlo's sister brand, but I have found GU to be not only cheaper but fits so much nicer compared to Uniqlo. I feel like Uniqlo, in general, just doesn't work for petite. I'm also 5'2, and GU's pleated trousers is so flattering one me and comes in a thick fabric as well (no panty line even with light color!) I don't know if GU is available in the UK tho...
It’s funny you say that. The grey trousers I have on with the clips where I am showing the down vest is from GU. I got them when I was in Japan last March! Cant get them in the UK sadly. Maybe I can get my hands on a black pair the next time I go 🤭 but sadly they are still synthetic.. I wish they were wool or at least a wool blend!
This was super helpful thanks Adeline! I'm in Aus so won't see these pieces until next year, but it's good to know because I had my eye on the cashmere cardigan already. The comparison with COS was very helpful too! I hope you get well soon ❤
This was such a helpful video! You actually helped de-influence me from a couple of the merino items I was eyeing, so thanks for the thorough reviews! Just wondering what belt you're wearing in the video? It looks great!
I'm still discovering ins and outs of Uniqlo. If you'd stand in front of the white wall, rather than the darker piece of furniture, I feel like your lovely video would be more helpful. Thank you so much for the information!
I also have a hard time finding trousers that I like. I see many that I like on people on the street or pinterest, but never in stores!! I like the ones from Massimo dutti, many of them with wool but i am typically not comfortable in their clothes.
It’s very hard to see the dark clothes against the dark wood cabinet behind you. Maybe I suggest somewhere with better contrast for next time. Thanks for the video tho, it’s helpful!
Hello! So glad to see a review like this, thank you so much! I've been eyeing the Utility Short Blouson. Do you think that the material is fitting for temperatures from 15-5 C?
Hi Adeline. Thanks for the helpful video. I had my eye on most of the items you reviewed. I really like the brown denim/pants that you had on with the high V neck jumper (6:12). Where are they from?
are those merino pieces warm? I bought one but it ran big so I gave it to my mother. thinking about ordering a size down to use as a base layer. Thanks!
Good for autumn, for winter you will definitely need to layer. Excellent for base layers - it's what I used when I went to Finland earlier this year and it was -25c!!
I like Uniqlo very much and have a lot of their pieces, but I was disappointed about the C collection. Looks beautiful, but the quality and also the touch doesn’t correspond the normal Uniqlo quality standards. Most feel plasticky and the cashmere is too thin. For me a no go.
I have short legs and maybe longer torso? But I agree with you-the wide leg pants have such low crotch. It bunches up weird when sitting. My usual rise is around 11” so these might just be too much for my proportions. I appreciate I can have some pants hemmed since my inseam is 25”-26”, however I wish they made some improvements like keeping lining on pockets, and some more give at the waist.
Most honest review I have seen so far. I am hesitant to buy some cashmere pieces, I will keep your tips into consideration. I also like the fashionable body warmer. I am also looking for a cropped cardigan. Take care, hope you feel better soon 😘
I think that it depends on your budget. I think that for the price range the cashmere is good, however, if you have more to spend then you can find better quality at places such as COS. It’s also only worth it if you really like the design, for example I’m going to keep the cropped cardigan as I really like the cut and find it hard to find cardigans like that! I’ll continue wearing the pieces and report back on how they wear over time. Thank you for your well wishes! On the mend now ☺️ x

Thank you for sharing. I thought that might be the reason, but didn't want to mention it just in case I wasn't right. xxx
I’m actually kind of glad to hear that the wide leg trousers are a bit more wide legged since I’m midsized (maybe a 31 inch waist). It sounds like they may fit me well!
Heatech!!! That’s the best of the best from Uniqlo ✨

Agreed, I prefer the merino wool items too ♥️
I also purchased pleated trousers and it does not work on my 5’1” height. I think we shorties need a slimmer fit.
@@sandimcdougall2909 actually I am relatively tall (1.73cm) and they are still too wide for me 😅
Same

Uniqlo has large size (170 cm) and extra large size clothes
Interesting. I'm 5'3" and their pants are too long for me.
Hi Adeline. Always looking forward to seeing your videos. Please think of getting a white rug to contrast the floor and help with lighting.
You’ll be pleased to know I just invested in better lights (ready for the next video!) and I have been looking at rugs 😂 this room I film in is sadly so dark!

I agree; it was hard to see the clothes definition with the black background.

@@AdelineLoke sounds great! You don't need to be sorry :)

Thank you! I’ll do an autumn lookbook soon ♥️
Here is the shirt, I’m wearing a size UK 8

A very useful informative video Adeline, well done. I like your new hairstyle 🤩
Aw you noticed! Thank you. I probably could have styled it better in this video but I wasn't feeling 100% and just wanted to get the filming done! 🤭

You're welcome. I bought it from a market in Italy. Sorry!
@@AdelineLoke No worries! That was a great find!
Would love if you can do Quince next! They seem to have a lot of quality basic pieces.
Unfortunately they don’t ship outside the US 😔
@@AdelineLokethat’s a bummer! Hopefully they do soon and I can see your review!

I was about to comment that too!
Hello! So glad to see a review like this, thank you so much! I've been eyeing the Utility Short Blouson. Do you think that the material is fitting for temperatures from 15-5 C?
I think 15c you’re good, anything under you need to layer with a jumper. The jacket is only cotton so it’s not that warm. X
Hi Adeline. Thanks for the helpful video. I had my eye on most of the items you reviewed.
I really like the brown denim/pants that you had on with the high V neck jumper (6:12). Where are they from?
I thrifted them in Japan, sorry 🥺🥺 the brand is Lee though, they are brown corduroy xx
Thank you for your honest review 😊
You're welcome xx
I was looking at that cashmere cardigan. I like mine short too. May be my next purchase. Get well soon!
Isn’t it so hard to find cropped cardigans!

Great great great reviews, so useful for a petite. Please, next time do the try on a white background because I can't see anything about the trousers😢

When fitting dark clothings, better to have a white background wall. So we can clearly see the details.
Your dark brown cupboard is not a nice background.
I’m working on it 🤗

Six more months of cropped styles??? A year?? Loved that you weighed cardigans!!
Best buy at Uniqlo would be the Heattech technology tops. thin but keeps you warm❤
I love long sleeve t shirts also!
I love the look of uniqlo knits, but their wool and cashmere is too itchy for my skin. Am i the only one who can not wear it?:)
It could be that the fibres are shorter as it is a lower grade that they use. Maybe it's not the best quality for you 😔
I have a few Uniqlo cashmere’s from a few years ago, it’s super thin and I just use for layering, I don’t rate Uniqlo for quality xx
It’s definitely not the best on the high street. Thank you for sharing x
Please could you stand in front of the white wall Adelene, when showing dark trousers. The details would show up more clearly. Thanks.
Lighting will be better in the next video 🥰
Why are we bring ripost off in The uk ! Please say again ?
Uniqlo is Japanese so I guess that's why it's cheaper over there. But yeah, I hear ya!
My older uniglo cashmere is significantly better quality than current uniglo cashmere. I returned all the cashmere pieces from my recent uniglo order.
Some of their stuff are made in bangladish😮
Adeline I love you but I just spent a fortune in Uniqlo men's section 😅
Oops, sorry! 🤪
Thank you, Adeline. This is a great video.
