Bob Palmer sends a letter to his mother postmarked Australia, but he is actually residing in a New York prison, serving a two year stretch for a crime that he did not commit! Upon his release, he returns home and renews his courtship with the daughter of a local financier who reinstates him at former position. However, an old rival has become vice president at the bank and is full of suspicions concerning Palmer's recent absence!
A nice addition to the amazing vault of amazing films. I love it!
The film was made by the short-lived Freuler Film Associates which existed from 1932-1934. This film is proof-positive as to why you've likely never heard of them. The jail is the only one in history where there is no punishment for trying to escape. And even more ludicrous, everyone in this "Australian" prison seems to be imported from Brooklyn!
A great featurette !
Porque ayer tenía subtitulos en español y hoy ya no los tiene ?
Ice man :43
Very dorky period acting... a bit sad as story lines go concerning human nature being ashamed of it's own attributes.
Regis Toomey was cute
