I want to take the same controller for myself, but I don't understand the difference between a CDJ and a controller. All you know is that the controller controls the program, and the CDJ plays itself. What else is the difference?

A CDJ works on its own, whereas a controller needs a computer (or a phone, iPad...) to work. I'd advise you to get a controller, as CDJ are best reserved for fairly experienced DJs. I hope I've helped you! Enjoy your mix!
