- Key to the Highway is a blues standard first recorded by Charlie Segar in 1940. The original was a 12-bar, medium tempo blues. In 1941, Big Bill Broonzy recorded the song as an 8-bar, creating the most famous of all early versions of the song. Another important version is by Eric Clapton. And here we are: have fun!
