when he starts reading greek small case letters upside down and calls zeta (ζ) a weird upside down s. Oh well, I guess to him all of the words and letters on the cube might as well have been martian. Also Theseus is not a part of Homer's epic poems. Theseus is a founding hero of the city of Athens. Plutarch wrote his biography. Still, a nice video Mr Ramsay.

I love how he doesn't know these Greek letters and he's calling the symbols XD I also love how they throw random Greek letters to seem like they made a word XD
@@deadmanwalking6709 Well it literally has to do with the fact that every Greek letter has a corresponding English letter. So what happened there is that whoever made the cube disregarded that correspondance in favour of "what letter looks more like this letter". So they wrote Sςrιρτμπ Cμβε which is wrong on 2 levels: the first is that it's not written in Greek but in "latin" (only "Scriptum" is latin, "Cube" is just english) with Greek letters, which like never happened in the history of languages; the second problem is that, even if we ignore the first problem, the letters used do not match the corresponding letters that you should use to write "Scriptum Cube", which should be written like this -> "Σκριπτυμ Κυβε". The way they have wrote it, it literally reads as "Ssrirtmp Cmbe" or "Ssgirtmp Smbe" depending if they used the capital letters and shrunk them down or just straight used some normal letters, because the "S", the "r" and the "C" are very strange

I can't believe this for the first time ever I figured it out before you did on the first part about lining up the slides to the middle image on each of the sliders with was printed on the backside of the sliders. Great video and awesome puzzle.
not gonna lie, for a second I thought that Chris was trying to solve an acient dwarven artifact from the dwemer ruins of Skyrim. And he seems that he was well equipt! I mean, look at that armor! I wonder how many Intelligence points he put on his build in order to solve that monster of a puzzle.
That puzzle was very straightforward and simple. The moment he shifted the panels up and found greek letters corresponding to shapes that were all over the sides in the same repeated pattern should have made the solution obvious. It was so plain to see that when he opened the box and there was nothing left to really solve that I was very disappointed. Nearly 20 minutes on his timer to figure out something so simple? I'm going to say that he put no "intelligence points" anywhere to solve this and his tendency to overthink things got in the way completely.
The ultimate puzzle: a guy is smart enough to solve The Scriptum in about 15 minutes, knows the ancient story of Theseus and the Minotaur, even wears a (anachronistic) Greek armour and helmet, BUT is unable to name a single letter from the Greek alphabet, which was around for the last 2,800 years and is still widely used in maths and science.
That's a Absolutely Fantastic! No no no.. WAY better than a simple fantastic Intro!! Loved the puzzle, loved it all! 😎😎 Thank you guy's because this was Epic!! *Absolutely* loved it! 🤗

That intro was Amazing keep up the great work loving the intros you make for these intricate puzzles and Great Editing!
the math geek in me is dead, yelling "It's not an 'n' it's mu". LOL, LMAO, HAHAHAHAHA!!!
He didn't even know what theta was... he should have known that even with the box upside down, it's kinda the exact same either way.
It's funny. I understand some of the symbols, but only in math terms. So I don't really know what letters they correspond to. I just know what some of them are used for in math and physics lol
@@anna3354 a=α,b=Β,c=γ,d=δ,e=ε......
I'm also bothered by the fact that he called a line segment a side lol
When you said "Fils d'Ariane" I was like, "wait I recognize that accent". Cheers from Montreal dude.
18:23 Did it bother anyone else when he didn't put the Minotaur piece back in with its Styrofoam base?

Anyone from Greece?? I am Greek and I cringed my life when he called like that the Greek alphabet 😅😂. Και επειδή κάποιοι δεν θα με πιστεύουν επειδή είναι πρωταπριλιά γράφω αυτό εδώ.
Love your vids !

Can we just appreciate the fact that he likes to decorate his background and not be like the other RUclipsrs
I'm not hating what so ever as I know people love them, just wanted to say that I personally skip the intros. But maybe I'm old school - I'm here for the puzzle! Haha
But it's obviously working for the subs/likes so keep it up!
I can't believe this for the first time ever I figured it out before you did on the first part about lining up the slides to the middle image on each of the sliders with was printed on the backside of the sliders. Great video and awesome puzzle.
The production value on all these intros...amazing. ❤️
not gonna lie, for a second I thought that Chris was trying to solve an acient dwarven artifact from the dwemer ruins of Skyrim. And he seems that he was well equipt! I mean, look at that armor! I wonder how many Intelligence points he put on his build in order to solve that monster of a puzzle.
Judging by the comments by those that understand Greek? Uhhhh.....
Me: looking at comments
Comment: it is April first
Me: oh yeah
Also me: goes to prank my brother
The ultimate puzzle: a guy is smart enough to solve The Scriptum in about 15 minutes, knows the ancient story of Theseus and the Minotaur, even wears a (anachronistic) Greek armour and helmet, BUT is unable to name a single letter from the Greek alphabet, which was around for the last 2,800 years and is still widely used in maths and science.
I'm not even Greek, or have much knowledge of the Greek language, but I was screaming "Thats GAMMA! GAMMA FFS!" at the screen!
"and is still widely used in maths and science" and the Greek language XD
I thought the same.
If you went to a regular school, anywhere in the globe, you would remember at least one of the Greek letters' name.
What a shame.
That was the coolest puzzle! Seen you do lots of them over the year but this is my fav and the opening was AMAZING! Thanks Chris
Best Intro by Far, the production quality is superb.
3:30 "listen to me... i need your help... now" DID ANYONE CATCH THAT whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Saw it, in the previous video as well, what's that?..
It was a buildup add for the techy puzzle box
Lol I realized that
Figured as much lol
Did anyone else see the glitch in at 3:27? What’s it about!! I’m sooo confused!
I saw that too
3:30.. Chris what does this mean?! I'm hoping it's leading to something else 🤔
Just remember its April's 1
Might mean nothing
I slowed down the video and I am trying to get every frame to see if there is anything but it is April fools but it could be something
Peter M just uploaded a bag video, there is a part 2 in that video. "Tell Chris to open the box now".
the only reason im here haha there must be more, what other youtubers could be in on it?
That's a Absolutely Fantastic! No no no.. WAY better than a simple fantastic Intro!! Loved the puzzle, loved it all! 😎😎

When he knows the greek mythology but doesn't even know ANY of thee greek letters whatsoever...(Not even theta?) Also how he was holding it upside down the entire time... But like, alpha, beta, gamma, delta, theta, mu, lambda, sigma are all heavily used in highschool level math and physics, not to mention college level.
From years of engineering physics and calculus I was shouting "It's Mu not "N"!" At my phone
He doesn't even know the mythology. He said at around 1:25 that Theseus saved the people of Athens from the Minotaur when the Labyrinth and the Minotaur were both on the island of Crete, some 330 km from Athens.
@@dawndeather9553 oh nice catch, I didn't pay too much attention to the accuracy of that part. I guess he found some faulty sources.
@@dawndeather9553 And if I'm not mistaken Theseus has nothing to do with Homer's Odyssey...
Hi Chris - Really enjoyed this video - in fact I recently bought and assembled this puzzles' smaller and less complicated cousin called "Silver City" and after your video I am definitely going to buy the self assembly Scriptum Cube kit.
Keep up the excellent work
Cheers Andy (from the UK)
Your intros for your puzzle videos are F-ing amazing. So damn good.
