I know this is is not a big deal, but I noticed that the iPhone 14 Pros don't come in the black box like previous Pro iPhones. Must be another cost saving decision by Apple even though the black box, I think, made the phone seem more premium.
I get your sentiment. As soon as I saw the box a sense of disappointment quickly sets in then I also swiftly realized that it's just a box. I like the slim black box in which iPhone 12 Pro Max was enclosed when I purchased it in 2020
I’ve had my deep purple 14 Pro Max 512 GB for a couple of days and honestly there’s no need to have AOD. Having it it off, really improves the battery and definitely lasts allll day. I’d use AOD if I’m ever in meetings. Otherwise you’re using a lot of battery already with that outdoor 2,000 peak brightness! Sooo sweet!

The 120hz refresh rate has such a modern feel to it, the peak brightness outdoors is helpful! The camera and video are superb! That’s me coming from the 12 pro. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do lol.

Hey I like the glossy sides they make it look more premium. Also if this helps anyone - don't pick a color just because it's a trend but pick a color you like! I'm getting space black after a year of sierra i've had enough even tho it's a beautiful color. I just got the midnight Macbook Air and a black Magic Mouse so the space black iPhone will be a perfect match.
I had the 7+ in Piano Black. It was gorgeous. Also terrible for finger prints. I like the green in this new line but not enough of a reason to shell out another $1100.
I agree- had a white and silver iPhone x and it's gorgeous but just want something different - but not purple (although it looks like a subtle shade). Space Black is my choice.

What doesn't make sense is people whining about fingerprints on daily use items. Then you show you use a case so your sides doesn't get fingerprints. It's like all the people who whine about notches and pill shaped taking SO MUCH space on their phones, but Dynamic Island that grows and takes way more screen is great. I have iPhone 13 so only thing I would like on the 14 is the always on display, but not enough to update to a iPhone 14.

I currently have an iPhone 11 and I have managed to save up some money to get the iPhone 14 Pro Max, I'm getting it primarily for cameras, bigger and brighter screen along with pro motion. I cannot wait to get it and see the real features of the "Dynamic Island."

I love purple myself and I wasn’t so sure that it would be a nice shade of purple because all the videos out there seem to make it look gray or blue, But after seeing it live today I can tell you this purple color is beautiful. Very classic and regal looking. This video also actually matches what the color looks like in real life.

This is probably about the only video out there that has been able to capture what this deep purple color looks like in real life lol. Don’t know why every other video has not been able to capture the exact purple hue.

Hmmm... stainless steel sides.... or aluminum sides... I’ll definitely take stainless steel since since it takes impacts from drops better then aluminum does. Plus the shiny in my opinion looks way better then the matte.

Not having a SIM tray slot is a deal breaker for me especially I do a lot of international travels. Hopefully they bring that back in the next iteration or else I’m going with another brand. I heard in Canada they still have the physical SIM tray slot. Disappointing!
Apple knows how to make their customer stay with them. For an example - I used all kind of Android phones in the past ( thats OnePlus Motorola, Samsung, LG, & Google) One day I was given a MacBook and iPhone at work - since then I started using Macs and iPhones even at home - Any way at that point most of my family was using iPhones - It became very convenient- Now the worst and the best part is - I use all apple products. That in my mind is crazy how with out my full awareness I became an apple consumer with in few years- In the past I was never a specific android band user.... Damn Apple....

I’ve have been using esim since launch. Now people will know there is even less of a point to stealing my phone. Your going to pry apart this watertight slab for what parts that won’t pair to another phone? I know right to repair etc but from a security standpoint I love it.
@@Shatiq XS max and later have esim and it can't be removed. Along with apples find my network. Basically it will use other apple devices near by to report location. Same tech thats in air tags. So with no removable sim and find my the phone is worthless to steal.

A removable sim would have been nice. But honestly, you can pick up a cheap burner phone for international travel where a wireless sim network is not available.
Huge comp. here matey; My parents still use 8+, never ever an issue, but ....between 8+ and 14 pro is a big gap. If you use your phone on a long shot, go for 14 plus, if you are on photo industry go for pro
I love the idea of no physical sim. They could break, scratch, bend, get lost... super easily. Plus, needing to keep track of the little pin is impossible. Pre ordered the 256 14 pro in gold. Arriving tomorrow!
That is the bad idea, because esim just like cdma phone with longtime ago all the networks using like verizon, sprint. Reason apple using esim mean they make iphone cheaper and still get money from you but you still thinking that is the good idea.

man i was anti apple for the longest time and found you 3 years ago and convinced me to make the switch. Now I got an Apple TV, Ipad pro with the magic keyboard and pen, Apple watch, Air Pod pros, and just upgraded from the 13pro Max in Green to the 14pro Max in Purple. I’m only a dog dad, but this is every day?!? Now all my friends clown on me cause I used to be so anti apple. So now I gotta be the resident Apple expert instead of resident Android expert and rebuild my reputation. I'm personally interested in apple adopting a native manual control but do it in such a way which is intuitive to aspiring photographers to get them interested in using it and more greatly dial in how they want things to look. I've seen the option on the likes of Sony and Samsung and it's hit or miss. I just think this needs an apple touch and is a but of an oversight considering how creative-centric they are generally which is odd considering something is absent on a pro device.

Apple kinda get away with tmbeing a bit behind as they don't actualy own manufacturing processes and outsource contracts to other companies. This can be cost effective and a good solution until you factor in the cost and additional costs to do so from brands like Samsung for new 1Hz - 120Hz screens. Anyway, that wasn't really the point here but just to entertain it for a sec, I'll just outright state the facts: being too ambitious and making big technological leaps is not within big tech companies financial interests as far as profit margins go, especially when small, iterative updates can rake it in and they can get away with drip feeding features over the span of years, despite being something they could implement that already exists - even though they could recoup costs by bot making a phone every year and at least decided to go for a 2 year redresh. Besides, the other argument is that innovation has really just become a platitude these days and people are more concerned with having a phone that does what it's supposed for nearly 2k as opposed to being too concered with feature fodder that bogs down the core experience as new things introduce new problems - as to do something well is an achievement in of itself these days. The problem with innovation is the blury line between something game changing and something that is an overhyped gimmick - something most brands are familiar with, especially samsung and chinese OEMs. I mean, a lot of what I said above means nothing if you're the type of person to hold off for about 2-3 years anyway but it's hard to define what innovation is when 90% of the things we have are mature, long established technologies just put into a phone. The reality is nothing implemented realistically will fundamentally change how we use a phone and hence why the 'innovation' rhetoric is tired and meaningless.
I got the 14 pro max ordered, I have the 13 pro and upgrading as I want the max model mainly for the extra juice in the tank now the world is open again for getting out travelling more and this reason only as I do like the 13 pro still and the best iPhone I have owned so far.

I think they should make the option to have a SIM card tray when purchasing an iPhone. Some people want it and some people don’t mind whether or not the sim tray is available. Also I’m hoping they make an iPhone with all the glass other than the screen have a matte finish. The fingerprints really ruin the “pro” feel of the phone in my opinion

I’ve have been using esim since launch. Now people will know there is even less of a point to stealing my phone. Your going to pry apart this watertight slab for what parts that won’t pair to another phone? I know right to repair etc but from a security standpoint I love it.

@@Shatiq XS max and later have esim and it can't be removed. Along with apples find my network. Basically it will use other apple devices near by to report location. Same tech thats in air tags. So with no removable sim and find my the phone is worthless to steal.

Huge comp. here matey; My parents still use 8+, never ever an issue, but ....between 8+ and 14 pro is a big gap. If you use your phone on a long shot, go for 14 plus, if you are on photo industry go for pro

I love the idea of no physical sim. They could break, scratch, bend, get lost... super easily. Plus, needing to keep track of the little pin is impossible.

I'm personally interested in apple adopting a native manual control but do it in such a way which is intuitive to aspiring photographers to get them interested in using it and more greatly dial in how they want things to look. I've seen the option on the likes of Sony and Samsung and it's hit or miss. I just think this needs an apple touch and is a but of an oversight considering how creative-centric they are generally which is odd considering something is absent on a pro device.
I hate to break it to you but Apple is no longer doing innovation.

Apple kinda get away with tmbeing a bit behind as they don't actualy own manufacturing processes and outsource contracts to other companies. This can be cost effective and a good solution until you factor in the cost and additional costs to do so from brands like Samsung for new 1Hz - 120Hz screens. Anyway, that wasn't really the point here but just to entertain it for a sec, I'll just outright state the facts: being too ambitious and making big technological leaps is not within big tech companies financial interests as far as profit margins go, especially when small, iterative updates can rake it in and they can get away with drip feeding features over the span of years, despite being something they could implement that already exists - even though they could recoup costs by bot making a phone every year and at least decided to go for a 2 year redresh. Besides, the other argument is that innovation has really just become a platitude these days and people are more concerned with having a phone that does what it's supposed for nearly 2k as opposed to being too concered with feature fodder that bogs down the core experience as new things introduce new problems - as to do something well is an achievement in of itself these days. The problem with innovation is the blury line between something game changing and something that is an overhyped gimmick - something most brands are familiar with, especially samsung and chinese OEMs. I mean, a lot of what I said above means nothing if you're the type of person to hold off for about 2-3 years anyway but it's hard to define what innovation is when 90% of the things we have are mature, long established technologies just put into a phone. The reality is nothing implemented realistically will fundamentally change how we use a phone and hence why the 'innovation' rhetoric is tired and meaningless.

I got the 14 pro max ordered, I have the 13 pro and upgrading as I want the max model mainly for the extra juice in the tank now the world is open again for getting out travelling more and this reason only as I do like the 13 pro still and the best iPhone I have owned so far.

I think they should make the option to have a SIM card tray when purchasing an iPhone. Some people want it and some people don’t mind whether or not the sim tray is available. Also I’m hoping they make an iPhone with all the glass other than the screen have a matte finish. The fingerprints really ruin the “pro” feel of the phone in my opinion
