Falano says that the Central bank and the government can regulate and control the currency, he is absolutely right as they have been empowered by the constitution and central bank act to-do so but the question is, who are the people at the helm of the affairs? Let’s not be distracted by Big Men Problems. Our issues in Nigeria are much more fundamental than simply chasing dollars. Our economy is UNPRODUCTIVE because of poor physical (power, roads, rail, etc.) and social (schools, hospitals, security, etc.) infrastructure.
If Nigerian companies produced high (or even reasonable) quality goods at reasonable (or even cheap) prices, most Nigerians would not be importing toothpicks and virtually everything else. But Nigerian companies cannot do so if they have to spend 40% of their production cost on generating power.
Let’s not be distracted when our house is burning by chasing the escaping rats. Our FUNDAMENTAL issue is not the so-called ‘dollarisation’. There are myriad nations doing well that have pegged their national currencies to the dollar, and most of the economically well-off world trade in dollars.

@@Boggloo Falana is very close to the corridors of power. He’s well experienced and know how to put papers together. You don’t just talk to satisfy the public. We need him to structure his ideas in terms of problem identification, objective setting, mechanics to solving them, resources requirements, timeline and expected results.
When you come on air with a basket of issues, they tend to get lost immediately when the conversation ends. I’m sure the learned SAN knows how better to present his solutions. We need ideas from anyone that has but presented the right way

Femi Falana, I beg to disagree. The only way out of this is to ramp up our export, reduce our import, strengthen our schools and medical systems to attend to the needs of our people. Go after people with unearned assets and cash and recover immediately irrespective of their political alliance.
Honestly, the Eastern manufacturing economy and the Agricultural & Agroallied industries of South-west and Northern Nigeria should be our focus to reduce dependence on imports.
Aba, Nnewi , Onitsha, Lagos, Ota are areas we should investment in massively to help us

How can a country enmeshed in socioeconomic/financial crises ramp up export or production? Productivity is a function of socioeconomic/financial stability? Can a family or an individual afflicted with poverty be productive? increased Productivity which in turn will precipitate export is a function of an enabling environment! To engender productivity/export, there must be an enabling environment first. No matter how genetically productive a mango or orange seed is, it can never grow into a productive mango or orange tree in a desert environment. Nigeria being a net importer currently, expensive dollars is tantamount to a desert environment because virtually all factors of production are imported. The Nigerian currency must first be stabilized before productivity/export can even take place. The most practical solution is to ramp up our oil production from the 1.2m barrels currently being strugglingly produced to the 2.1m barrels that we are allocated to supply in OPEC. Corruption among top government officials and especially the Nigerian military is responsible for this shortfall.

All you've said are true. We're just handicapped in terms of leadership. Our leaders lack foresight, superiority mindsets, patriotism, love etcetera. We need reorientation and national consciousness awareness. Is like we Nigerians had overlooked so many things that led our leaders to become puppet and errand slaves to the interest of the west while its own people languish in abject poverty and sufferings.

Seems to me that people who are elected or appointed to run the affairs of this country need to be educated on the things Mr. Falana has been talking about in this program. Quite eductive and enlightening. We need to get it right now.

Many Nigerians thought when Gani Fawhemi passed, Nigerians thought that was it but lo and behold a Daniel has come to judgement. Yes government of impunity both state, federal and local govt, but as they bulldoze their way, they always know they have to contend with the people's advocate Mr Femi Falana (SAN). May our God continue to bless you and your generation including the young Falana who protests thru his music.

Exactly echoing What Obi is saying . Now even the Bench is also feeling the pinch . Please let the Judiciary save Nigeria . Time all Nigerians realize to do away with religious and tribal sentiment during elections and go for people that will salvage Nigeria . With Tinubu in the helm of affairs I wonder for how much longer this Country can hold out to the " Punches " . The Ship is sinking very fast .

Nigeria is a capitalist nation and the naira should be floated. President buhari did exactly what mr Falana is talking about. As a result of that policy, naira was crashed and created underground economy for some people.
The market forces should determine the value of the currency. Mr Falana is a TRUE patriotic Nigeria and he’s very passionate about Nigeria cause.
