  • In this video Marc Richter takes us on a metal detecting dive the new Nokta Makro 8" coil for the PulseDive Scuba Detector.
    This is a longish video, but it is packed with excellent tips, advice as Marc explains his technique. If you are getting started or are looking to start underwater metal detecting, then this is a much watch video.
    Marc must be one of the most experienced underwater scuba metal detectorists worldwide. He has been underwater detecting all his adult life and dives five times a week even in winter as he hunts for black gold (sinkers), gold rings and treasure (which still eludes him).
    Take a look at the Nokta Makro PulseDive Scuba Detector and new 8: Coil here: bit.ly/MDSA-Pu...

    Is the PulseDive with the 8inch coil as good as the SeaHunter MK2 with it's 8inch coil as far as sensitivity is concerned ? I would image that the the cordless audio on the PulseDive is big plus factor.

    Thanks John. Only on very rare occassions will i use the 4inch,the 8Inch is my Goto Coil for Underwater Detecting.

      Thanks again to John and the MDSA Team,,, just to be clear when i said in the video i would prefer the handles on Hand-held detectors;especially underwater ones to be smaller. I ment 'Thinner in Width not length ,,,When a person uses a hand-held,especially an underwater one and MOSTLY WHEN YOU USE THICK GLOVES(Difficult to grip a larger object with thick gloves on):your palm hand muscles become strained from searching"moving" from side-to-side,because of the resistance of water. Im sure if the manufacturers can make the handle area thinner it would be better.(If a person has big hands maybe then just add to the handle"Type of Connection or Tennis-racket tape,foam,rubber etc...)
      I think its like if you play tennis and the racket handle is to big , hand fatigue sets in quicker.

      @@marcsmetaldetecting2477 I agree, I have found the same issue. Wish they would, or could, make the handles a little more ergonomic. It is tiring to the hand because they are so bulky. And its the same with Detectnix Scubatector as well. Otherwise, awesome products!!

    Anyone have issues with the mini USB receiver separating from the pulse dive?? The receiver came out with my charging cable and trying to figure out how to repair

    Nice video.
    Just a question. Can you change coils while the detector is wet? Or does that unseal it.

    • @marcsmetaldetecting2477
      @marcsmetaldetecting2477 3 года назад

      NO,, but just towel dry the coil area,,obviously dont get water by the 2 connections that are inside.

    Another question how deep are the hole you are fanning out?

    Do you think the 8 inch is stronger?

    • @MetalDetectingMDSA
      @MetalDetectingMDSA  4 года назад +1

      Yes, due to the larger size it does give extra depth and you cover a larger area faster 👌

    If they could only make a 10" with two or three tones...They would make a killing
    But it is a pulse and the tone thing would be harder to do

    Can you change coils under water?

    • @MetalDetectingMDSA
      @MetalDetectingMDSA  3 года назад

      Hi Danny, nope - that would drown the PulseDive. Also always make sure you have the waterproof cap on when going underwater. There are two caps one for land use (makes the audio louder) and the waterproof cap).

      @@MetalDetectingMDSA Thanks for the reply and info. I didn't see where I could buy it with just the 8" so ordered it with the 4" and a separate 8". Was hoping to have both available during a dive. Oh well.

      @@juanrissotto471 just played with it around the house, (finding things like drywall screws). Several videos say the larger coil is better as pinpointing isn't hard and the coil covers more ground.

      Yeh, Marc dives out sinkers and has a guy that buys the lead from him.

    Great video on a great product Marc, thank you! I already have a pulsedive (with the smaller coil) and I'm pretty impressed with my underwater finds so far (mainly coins, rings & sinkers)! I'm considering buying the larger 8'' coil also to gain some extra depth and coverage...Based on your experience, will the 8'' be more sensitive to "chain like" gold? I believe the smaller the coil the more the sensitivity to tiny targets but maybe I'm wrong....Since so far I'm only finding rings and no chains/crucifix with my small coil...is a small PI detector like this capable of finding chains and/or crucifix also? I know that chains and crucifix are very difficult targets...will the larger 8'' coil of the Pulsedive help finding at least the larger of them, or it will only provide more depth & coverage?

    • @marcsmetaldetecting2477
      @marcsmetaldetecting2477 3 года назад

      Only more depth and coverage,, PI does not always pick-up 'half c objects' eg. chain links,,but if the chain is bundled up it will...I have never found a gold chain before but plenty silver chains... So?
