I used to watch this show as a kid, and honestly it is way more different than pepa pig. The themes are definitely darker (in the earlier seasons of course), there was a episode about one of the characters trying to starve herself in order to lose weight and play with her friends on the sea saw, to the point where she passed out, or another time in the movie in which a kid dragon enslave his entire country just because his dad went missing. The writers definitely had some creativity and wiggle room in the production, and not just "brainless kid show"
It's a very violent show at the beginning. The wolf either gets blown up, stung by bees, burned alive, mauled my piranhas, and even got turned into a table once in one episode.
As a Chinese who have watch the show for a long time and now started to seeing and hearing about my childhood favorite show the pleasant goat and Big big wolf is a amazing and un unexplainable feel and emotion, seeing the show have grown so so MUCH though out the years from just a silly concept to something Epic is incredible, the last ever time I have watch the show is when the characters are turn mini and need trains to go around the bug/plant world all of this give so so much nostalgia and I'm so happy you talked about my childhood.

I can't be too sure of any reported numbers, but the potential is certainly there. The central premise (a bunch of goats outfox a bunch of wolves using all manner of cartoonish weaponry and hijinks) is easy to get into, the cast look suitably iconic and dynamic, it's had a load of great thematic settings and story ideas. How could it not do well? And for a show remarkably younger than most of the shows and properties it's being compared to (Mickey, Doraemon) to potentially have more longevity? I feel like I've just found manna in the desert...
I would also love watching that show and I've seen it and it was hilarious and cool and my favorite character is the happy goat and I love the cartoon I literally like it so much
I'm with you there. "Mighty Little Defenders" thus far feels to me like the first time I saw "MLP: FIM" in 2010 or "Mircaulous Ladybug" in 2015, a 'toon with fresh ideas and great energy that could easily break out once it found the right audience. Casual research reveals that Disney apparently had a block of 100 episodes licensed for US syndication on DXD in 2010, but never really followed through with that. Some episodes from that particular dub are apparently on the "Pleasant Goat" English YT channel, under the name "Great War in the Bizarre World." Wonder if they're any good?
The Simpsons and Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf's episode counts are still nothing compared to THE longest running animated show, Unser Sandmännchen. So old, it was created by EAST GERMANY in 1959. It's a stop-motion animated show featuring a character called the Sandman who helps German children go to bed. When East Germany was around, the goal was to show socialist achievements (or just DDR life in general) and win their hearts for socialism. It showed the character not just in East Germany but also visiting other socialist countries like Cuba and the USSR. It was so popular in the DDR that West Germany tried doing their own version called Das Sandmännchen but it just never reached the popularity of the East German version Because of its popularity, it was decided to keep the show running after reunification. It blows all other animated shows out of the water with over *TWENTY TWO THOUSAND* episodes and counting.
Quick question: does "Sandmannchen" have an official YT presence of any sort, preferably an English dub? I'm always on the lookout for long bingable runs I can fire up here on YT, and that would surely hit the spot.
It probably started as a ripoff, but seeing how well it did on its own it grew into it's own series. Growing it's audience by developing it's own unique identity and growing on it
wolfoo: ya Gaga goo goo this is a peppa pig ripoff whatcha gonna do about it Pleasnt goat: hey ya know how we were a peppa ripoff? Let’s make it epic and not a cheap ripoff
I remember this show. I used to go to a Chinese immersion school when I was younger and whenever we had parties we’d always watch the show. Yeah, it’s stupid but you can’t deny it had a fun charm to it. Theme song still SLAPS to this day!
I've been subscribed to the "Pleasant Goat" English YT channel for a little while, but had yet to actually watch any episodes. It was your enthusiasm for the "Mighty Little Defenders" season that won me over; I've binged the first six episodes of that over the past day and can't wait to polish off the other fifty-five. I'm amazed at the sheer speed of the gags and how lively the little lore dumps make the overall presentation. I'm almost afraid that the other seasons available will be a bit of a letdown after what I've seen from "MLD," but the gags stand up well with the best of "Looney Tunes" and "Tom and Jerry," so why not, I'll give those a go, too! Thanks for the nightmare fuel and excellent weekend binge marathon material!
Man, didn't know Pleasant Goat was THAT popular... thanks bootleg video game hack! It's pronounced "when", not "yuen", btw. (Also, the original title for the video before it being changed is "Peppa Pig's CHINESE RIP OFF! - ConnerTheWaffle". For histories sake, you know?)
Sees a second "Peppa Pig" ripoff video, expects it to be "Our Friend Xiong Xiao Mi". I call false advertising! Jokes aside, I also wanted to point out that "Mighty Little Defenders" isn't a continuity reboot; it's a season of the original series. "Pleasant Goat" never had a reboot. "Mighty Little Defenders" trails off a previous season called "War of Invention".
I just wanted to say that I watched the movies (yes there are movies that came from this show, multiple of them, hell I just found out one of them came out this year) from the same franchise a LOT as a kid. Both of my parents are chinese immigrants so I can only assume this show is more well known in china.
Holy shit. I'd never thought I would ever see this show again. I remember watching it a lot on one of the local TV channels and loving it as a kid, but I've long since forgot it's name. What a blast from the past.
i remember seeing this show when i was younger, i never thought it was like peppa pig at all but i can see it lol, it's like peppa pig crossed with tom and jerry

After giving the show such high praise and seemingly enjoying its later iterations... I don't fully understand why the video is titled "The WORST Peppa Pig RIP OFF #2."
This show is nothing like Peppa Pig, in that being within 5 feet of it doesn't make me wanna die. This actually looks...good?! Shame it wasn't around when my kids were little. Thankfully they hated the OG Peppa Pig when it first aired on CN back in 2005. Talk about dodging a bullet! The latest 3D version actually reminds me of Paw Patrol. Not a rip off, just similar colors and theme.
I feel like Pleasant Goat and Big Wolf has improved so much (in terms of animation quality), 😊that it’s been trouncing even recent Tom and Jerry instalments for a long while now.
0:56 wait I think I used to have something like that when I was young I think it was table me and my sibling have that one with a clock in it yeah but it was a long time ago so we don't have that table anymore
It's actually really good! Hell, I recommend every season of _Xi Yang Yang_ after Mighty Little Defenders! Not every is especially easy to access since the subs/dubs aren't the show's priority, but every episode _is_ still on RUclips for free, and pretty much all of the newest seasons have been this good (and some even better!).
It's strange to see something that is so popular from another country yet you've never seen it before. Really makes you think what extremely popular things we know about that other countries have never heard of.
OH MY GOD, I used to watch pleasant goat as a kid but didnt thought much of it... until your video. it was a eye opening experience as i have now watched all 6 seasons of mighty little defender and it was AMAZING! I could have never dreamed of this show with the most basic of plot, prey vs. predietor to a action series with many different, interesting, fun plots like can goat and wolves truly make live in peace and harmony and, an alien come to earth looking for a goat child to unlock ultimate power and the newest season released, they explore a fantasy setting with there being 5 kingdoms 4 based on the the 4 seasons and the last one being where the demon king resides, its really cool.
omg I actually watched this show before, I even once had a study table with the characters on them. (note: I am not Chinese, I am from the Philippines and watched a Filipino dub of the show on the now defunct free TV kids channel 'YeY'.)
LOOKS LIKE TEAM WOLFY IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN Also if I had a nickel for every time Peppa got a Asian ripoff with a wolf charecter, I would have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice!
I remember watching this in some Filipino kids channel called "Yey". It was dubbed in Tagalog and I could understand it since I was pinoy. Sadly Yey channel isnt in televisions anymore
I was never a fan of when cartoons like Tom and Jerry depicted a particular character as the villain for no other reason than being hungry. I just wanted the predator's hard work to pay off, and felt bad for them when it didn't. Especially when it would happen time and time again.
Wow, I'm surprised I missed this video, as someone who's arguably one of the bigger fans of _Xi Yang Yang_ here in the west, where it remains pretty underrated despite its mass popularity in China! Although I admittedly feel somewhat conflicted about this video, mostly for even containing the insinuation that _Xi Yang Yang_ ripped off _Peppa Pig._ It wasn't even a huge focus of the video, yet that almost makes the claim even more awkward, since it feels unnecessary to add it at all. I mean, obviously I understand the concept of RUclips clickbait, but it does bother me because it isn't fact. And as you said in the beginning of your video, China _was_ known for bootlegs, since it was once more of a closed-off nation (for various historical reasons from colonization leading to it completely overturning its system to force itself to modernize, but that's not relevant at the moment). That's why it's a little frustrating as a donghua (Chinese animation) fan that these sorts of claims are still being thrown around despite China now having its own thriving animation industry, filled with hidden gems such as _Link Click_ or _Fog Hill of Five Elements_ or _Scissor Seven_ or _Nezha_ (2019) or _New Gods: Yang Jian_ etc. *With that being said, to those curious and who want to check out more of Xi Yang Yang and his friends, I can happily recommend every season after the Mighty Little Defenders season as being really good! That means Mighty Little Defenders -> Rescue Across Time -> The Intriguing Alien Guests -> Against the Dark Force -> Dunk for Victories (plus the movie, **_Dunk for Future_** (2022)) -> Ultimate Battle: The Next Generation -> The Great Rescue -> The Season Towns (the newest, yet-to-be-released season)!* *While not every season has English subs or a dub yet, they're all up for free on RUclips on the official 喜羊羊与灰太狼 RUclips channel, and if you ever want more content, there are tons of talented, passionate fans on the Chinese streaming site Bilibili!* *Oh, and just for fun, here's some of the theme songs for each of the newest seasons:* *Mighty Little Defenders:* ruclips.net/video/uwKZlJ05E6A/видео.html *Rescue Across Time:* ruclips.net/video/07SdTkiF9A4/видео.html *The Intriguing Alien Guests:* ruclips.net/video/W1Gy2x7QKXA/видео.html *Against the Dark Force:* ruclips.net/video/e4cCheBQh38/видео.html *Dunk for Victories:* ruclips.net/video/C9OFhUBvBJ0/видео.html (MV unavailable, but full song is available) *Movie: **_Dunk for Future_** (2022):* ruclips.net/video/eEmzxOGXR_A/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/fK0fpdOh8C0/видео.html *Ultimate Battle: The Next Generation:* ruclips.net/video/FAyerSbaYEI/видео.html *The Great Rescue:* ruclips.net/video/2LbCczprmfg/видео.html *And here's a few AMVs from Bilibili that showcases some of the later seasons' fight scenes~:* www.bilibili.com/video/BV17b4y177Bi/ www.bilibili.com/video/BV1WK4y1v7hn/?spm_id_from=333.337.search-card.all.click www.bilibili.com/video/BV17Z4y1K7rY/?spm_id_from=333.337.search-card.all.click www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Wy4y1j7SQ/?spm_id_from=333.788.recommend_more_video.4 It's genuinely really good in terms of fun fight scenes and action, lessons, but even character development. Also hell, Xi Yang Yang himself nearly _dies_ multiple times throughout the show as the action gets more intense... For example, the season Rescue Across Time involves time travel and we learn more about Xi Yang Yang (Pleasant/Happy Goat aka Weslie)'s past, but also especially about Hui Tai Lang (Wolffy)'s past and his complex relationship with his dad. Then in Intriguing Alien Guests we get more story about Xi Yang Yang's family, and Against the Dark Force has the cast brainwashed into fun villain versions of themselves with opposite personalities, where Lan Yang Yang (Lazy Goat/Paddi) gets development. And within Ultimate Battle: The Next Generation, we get more time travel and roboticization, where Xi Yang Yang and Hui Tai Lang are transported 15 years into the future while chasing a baddie, leading to heartfelt reunions with their friends and family, who thought they lost them forever (as well as complex relationships following the 15-year disappearance, such as with Hui Tai Lang struggling to re-bond with his son after so long of the son feeling abandoned). Now to the other things I wanted to note in regards to this video specifically: I basically just wanted to say that I can be nearly 100% confident in claiming that _Xi Yang Yang_ didn't pull _any_ inspiration from _Peppa Pig._ For one, _Peppa Pig_ didn't become popular in China until the 2010s, and as you mentioned, _Xi Yang Yang_ was released in 2005. Even though _Peppa Pig_ was released one year earlier in 2004, that's still not enough time for a show from another nation to get any kind of footing in China, especially when the nation still didn't have as many imported content from other countries (besides Japan). In fact, as you mentioned, the earlier seasons are way more like _Tom and Jerry_ than the toddler-appeasing, innocent, lesson-teaching domesticity of _Peppa Pig._ In fact, _Xi Yang Yang_ has gotten in trouble before for inspiring violence in children due to its more violent/slapstick comedy, so if it had to be a rip-off of anything, it would probably be _Tom and Jerry._ But even then, I've always seen it as more "inspired by" _Tom and Jerry_ (as in, it's T&J-esque). Because after all, not everything that is similar to something else _has_ to be labelled a rip-off. Like, even the brief claim that the live-action costume _Xi Yang Yang_ show just does _Sesame Street_ rip-off content is a bit eyebrow-raising, because does that mean every costume/puppet show that educates children count as a rip-off of _Sesame Street_ (eg _Bear in the Big Blue House_ or _Between the Lions_ etc)? Despite all of my gripes with some of the assertions made in this video, I am admittedly glad it showcased _Xi Yang Yang_ more for a western audience, and that more fans can get into it as a result! That's why I mentioned feeling conflicted lol. But yeah, here's to more fans enjoying _Xi Yang Yang,_ since it definitely deserves the love!
I used to watch Pleasant Goat and the Big Wolf when I was a kid in Hong Kong but I never knew any Chinese so I could only go with the visuals to process what's happening. I remember watching one of the movies with English subtitles, most likely the 2nd movie, since it was on a DVD my parents borrowed from the library. It had a song by Flower Goat, Lazy Goat was stuck with the child of Wolffy and Wolnie, and Happy Goat was stuck with Wolffy. It's like Tom and Jerry or the Smurfs with the slapstick and the eating the other main character premise.
The Goats look like sheeps. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought they were sheep, sheeps also have horns. Their white wool made them look like sheep more than Goats.

I loved watching that show 😍 as a kid, literally my childhood! I have a few of their movies!
Oh man this is hey like Tom and Jerry mixed with dragon Ball z!
I used to watch this show in china and this is the first time I'm hearing it's a peppa ripoff
Were do i wacht it?
6:02 honestly this is the best scene
Well, the Series (Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf) has gotten quite the glow up! The wonders of having the world’s largest production crew!
I’m getting nostalgia somehow cause I was watching this 24/7 as a kid
surprised this has more episodes than the simpsons started later than the simpsons yet is still good quality for a bootleg
“Hey, Stupid. We’re not Rabbits” Was a joke💀
That means Mighty Little Defenders -> Rescue Across Time -> The Intriguing Alien Guests -> Against the Dark Force -> Dunk for Victories (plus the movie, **_Dunk for Future_** (2022)) -> Ultimate Battle: The Next Generation -> The Great Rescue -> The Season Towns (the newest, yet-to-be-released season)!*
*While not every season has English subs or a dub yet, they're all up for free on RUclips on the official 喜羊羊与灰太狼 RUclips channel, and if you ever want more content, there are tons of talented, passionate fans on the Chinese streaming site Bilibili!*
*Oh, and just for fun, here's some of the theme songs for each of the newest seasons:*

It's genuinely really good in terms of fun fight scenes and action, lessons, but even character development.
Is this a cartoon or a anime?
Both i guess
Cartoon
This sounds more like a rip off of Tom-and-jerry
Ya i guess?
Wait.
They translate them as a sheep in my country. THEY ARE NOT!?
"Mighty goat squad" Me: Ah crap a Deer squad ripoff
I had a umbrella of this show

Next time you see a kid flossing blame it on Pleasant Goat
I think that there was a where's my water spin off based on this show
Found out the channel years ago happy I did
The cooler Peppa Pig
The bad peppa pig
I don't see the resemblance to Peppa Pig at all. Clickbait.
Oh yes, that Chinese cartoon is also popular some countries from Southeast Asia like Malaysia.
