What was Candace wrong about?
Frankly, the panthers learned it from black culture. If no one on the block gave you anything else, they gave you food; shared their meal. That;s how it was done in the South and we carried that same etiquette North. Especially when it came to children-- no one was going to let a child go hungry. My grandparents were from the South and anyone who came over was welcomed to share whatever had been prepared for that day,
It was because the panthers were Marxist and Leninist. The breakfast programs were only supposed to be temporary pending revolution until the people rose up and overthrew this capitalist system and replaced it with socialism which obviously never happened.
This is how it was for my family in Jamaica and when they emigrated here we continued the same practice. Friends and their friends have a place to eat and stay when needed.

I think the problem is that we let the entertainment industry, which we don't control, define Black culture. Look at how the music industry promoted music that glorified dealing and k*lling and denigration over conscious hip hop in the 80's and 90's. Black culture is so much more than the music and images we see on tv, which are largely controlled by non-black people. Our history and culture don't get talked about enough in away that inspires pride, which is a shame because there is so much to be proud of, but we don't know it. There's too much focus on the negative. We don't talk about what Fred Hampton was able to accomplish at a young age. We don't celebrate what Black culture has created in terms of science, music, language, fashion, art, literature, and philosophy and the analogous movements Black Americans inspired in other countries. We don't teach it, so the masses don't know and that leads to denigrating images in the media defining Black culture.

Your only issue with Candace is that she holds black people accountable instead of letting you blame black problems on whitey. So you try to get people to ignore Candace by falsely calling her a grifter but black folks are waking up to your lies.
I feel there has been an imbalance in Black representation in media for a long time, but I don't think it's our down fall. I think we need to keep building and promoting how we want to represent ourselves instead of allowing everyone else to dictate that for us.
If the best we have to offer is candice owens someone who helped demonize breonna Taylor..we are in trouble.

I don't agree with the statement of ELDERS sold out, it seems as though it's the young people who sold out, and it's mostly due to social media and algorithms, they are also disrespectful to the Elders and blame BOOMERS for their economic demise. I hate the fact that growing up I would be subjected to ridiculed for being black because of other peoples art living in the suburbs growing up as a kid. Because they never saw black person all they could go by what they saw on TV or the music that was being made. And to break those stereotypes was a lot of work and a lot of battles that weren’t always won.
I concur Miss Hunter, many of our elders have sold out for the coin. I wonder if that's why some become acquiescent to the system and not speak out on things as they once did before they obtained the 'bag'.

Candace Owen's knows what she's talking about. She has made a positive statement to both black and white people. She tries to convey that black people(not all) have this mentality that they are "victims" and can't move forward. And that's not true. Blacks have every opportunity to have a full life. There is nothing holding you back. You have every opportunity that everyone else has. You can vote, hold public office, get an education, etc. Yet, you're always blaming white people for your problems. As for as the Black Panthers go, they are/were totally racist. They don't want equality or peace with the white race. They were in their day, violent and hateful. Also, BLM is not a group that wants to help black people. They are part of a Marxist group whose main goal is to cause dissention between the races.If you hate capitalism so much, then move to Russia, North Korea, or China. I tell people all the time who have problems with my politics that they wouldn’t even rock with the panthers if they were around today because that’s where my politics come from. People love to cherry pick and only talk about the breakfast programs but skip their ideology. They just breeze over the part of teaching the fundamentals of socialism and raising the contradictions of capitalism. The panthers were socialist and hated capitalist. These people claiming the panthers today would have never listened to Fred Hampton. Imagine telling these black bourgeoisie that “were not going to fight capitalism with black capitalism” like Fred Hampton said. They would’ve never listened to George Jackson and probably never even read blood in my eye. The panthers were in solidarity with Palestine and were anti Zionist but we got black people talking about Israels our ally at best they might straddle the fence. We do have young people out here saying the same things as the panthers but most aren’t listening because they worship at the cult of capitalism. That’s why most people listen to a Roland Martin rather than a dr Jared Ball. Right now we got panthers locked up and dying and I never hear none of these supposedly pro black channels mention our political prisoners other than dr ball and I give marc lamont hill credit for working with Mumia. Rip ruchelle McGee, mutulu shakur and free Mumia, h rap brown, peltier, and all the other freedom fighters/political prisoners who fought for against this capitalist, imperial empire. It hurts that most black people don’t know these people and only bring up these revolutionary organizations when convenient without understanding the politics and ideology.

We need a balance of Satan and his workings on one hand and a dose of God's Goodness on the other to balance things out? What??? What on earth? One thing we should know by now is that the lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes and our pride draws us to the left side and down as opposed to reaching for the higher heights in this life, which is what we should always be aiming for.
