Late to this but I felt the need to comment.I am 62 and have been working out consistently for over a year now. Sal hit the nail on the head when he saidd so there is a separation from your peers. I am amazed at the number of people my age who have lost their independence.

Dudes, I'm 47 and I'm still putting on muscle. I do push and legs from Monday to Saturday for week 1 and then just do pull every 2 days from Monday to Saturday the next week before repeating week 1 and then week 2 after etc etc so that I give push/pull/leg groups a whole week off to recover.

In my late 40s now what I really notice is lack of sleep. And speed. But my strength feels better. The downward spiral for pure strength hasn't started yet.

In my teens and 20's I just wanted to be as big and strong as I could be same for my 30's, now I'm about to be 41 and I just wanna be in all around shape, I'm still hitting the weights but I've added calisthenics a few days a week and I'm really liking the results.

I started again at 38 (while having lifted a lot from 16-21, and then at 35 for half a year (so not that much), but now almost turning 39 and having trained, following a healthy protein rich diet, not have eating candy, drank soda, not a lot of alcohol etc, having good sleep, I definitely gained muscle, more than i ever had. Not that im have a bodybuilder physique, but im am blessed with an athletic v shape physique at a weight of approx 205 lbs standing at 6.0/6.1 that is now showing again and becoming better every month. I also see more definition every month, i become stronger every month, and that really provides so much satisfaction. Im am gaining muscle mass still (clothes size have changed, need smaller pants, bigger shirts), but i also think that even though i trained only for 5/6 years in the past, my body remembered it, and the quick results now are partly due to my past efforts.

I started by fitness journey at 20yo and at 44 just set new PRs across all basic lifts. I haven't been consistent through my life and had several years-long times when I did minimal lifting but every time I get back into it I get back to where I was pretty quickly. It's as if your muscles have a long-term memory of where they can be and as long as you achieve that every few years, you'll keep a great physique throughout your life.

Hi Mind Pump! It's my birthday in June and can I start out by saying I NEVER invest in workout programs from anywhere EVER!!! But this year I started listening to Mind Pump, followed your advice and starting lifting and taking breaks between sets as you suggest and although the scale hasn't really moved, I started to feel absolutely AMAZING! I knew it was making a difference despite the scales. With this in mind, I was listening to your mother's day episode and impulsively decided to buy the Fabulous 40s bundle. Did I mention that I NEVER invest in workout programs EVER?!! I did the first pre-phase foundational workout and I LOOOOOOOVE working out this way already.
I'm 45 and have always exercised and lifted weights (high weights lots of reps, very cardio based)but have struggled over the years with my relationship with food (very much been in a binge restrict cycle, which just led to more weight gain and HUGE frustration). Previously when I was working out, I would always end up hurting myself as there was a lot of emphasis on short breaks between sets which meant that my form was poor. I already LOVE my Fabulous 40s bundle!!! I literally can't thank you guys enough for how you've changed how I work out and how I feel about my body. Every woman needs you in their lives.
A million times thank you! p.s. I am going to copy this message and comment on all relevant videos😁

as a 20 year old the difference is non existent. By 40 the difference this 10 years 🙂

The chubby dude in the hat only lists the negatives to working out in your 40’s but negates all the positives. Maybe the dude’s kids are out of the house. Maybe the older dude is actually financially secure, maybe this older wise dude has shed the useless woman dragging him down.
The older folks can often properly prioritize and focus on health and the gym and afford to maintain a top notch diet. These dudes aren’t chasing girls and getting smashed every weekend so gains will be even better then the young cats even with a slightly lower test count.
    How bout dem apples?

If your just starting to lift and your over 35 there is no way u will build muscle , im talking good amount of muscle , like u wont look like u lift and thats because u dont have protein synthesis in your body , that means what your eating wont get absorbed to your muscles and instead will get stored as fat , and thats ofcurs thats because of lots of hormonal imbalance and specially testesteron . And if your over 40 50 and 60 it will be much much harder , getting the nutrition to your muscle is the most impirtant thing , it has nothing to do with adaptation and all the ball shit there talking about , im 41 years old and im a PT and i know what im talking about , if u haven't train in your 20's and build good amount of muscles its gonna be very hard to build new muscle , of curs there are exceptions for does who have great genetics whitch are 5% of the populations , if u want to build good amount of muscles after 35 u have to be on artificial testesteron and then trt to maintain your gains cause your current hormones will not support your gains and after u stop protein synthesis willl also stop and u will lose muscles . Most of youtube fitness influencers are on drugs and TRT jeff cavaliere included .
