Seconding Alexandre's wish to see what it might have looked like when newly painted. I'd also love a copy of that composite image showing all the different analysis techniques.
Very sad that well known Dutch painters were all very poor, f.i. Van Gogh, Rembrandt van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer, van Gogh got help from his brother Theo, when the financial support of Remrandt stopped, all his belongings came under the hammer and shortly after that he died. Vermeer had to take care of more then ten schildren , du to all the suffering he died very young.! It’s great that their paintings are world famous !
I have a print hanging on my wall, she's looking at me now. She's like a human Rorshach. I can see different emotions and thoughts each time. Of course, those are my projections, but that's Vermeer's point, I believe. And, of course, one can always go with the novel's projection, I love Chevalier's deep emotional immersion in this image. And yes, even the movie is evocative, where the cinematographer constructed and lit scenes to look like Vermeer paintings. So, yeah, okay, the first step in addiction recovery is admitting your addition. (Check.)
Thank you for sharing these details.
that would be amazing to try to photoshop a version that would look like as it was after it was painted! with the eyebrows and green back.

Great video! but the subtitles are distracting and cover part of the text/images :(
