I don't think the food drops quicker than any others. I'm pretty sure it just starts to drop while it's wild when you start feeding it element, but since element doesn't refill it's food it ends up super hungry by the time it tames.
The Tek Wyvern breath does heavy damage to structures and because of this is primarily PvP based. For PvE its all bite :/ As for the Astrodelphis, you can actually find the saddles in White Drops
The drops arent about the quality more but instead it depends on what the space biome is for example white is mutagel and ambergris and the others i forgot but thats a way of knowing the biome without going out

I have a tough time finding them as well. They do not have a high spawn rate. It seems to have been increased since this last update, although they seem to be glitching a bit as well. Granted, this is all on unofficial servers, so not necessarily true on official. Pre-update, I only found 1 in about 16hrs of gameplay. Post-update, I have found over a dozen, although half of those were in some kind of spawn/death zone glitch.
And if you do the dolphin race that halves the resource respawn times, you can literally use a whip to pick up the big cluster of mutagel next to the pillar then boost to the big cluster under the 'water'fall and get that and by the time you have gotten that the cluster by the pillar will respawn, so you can go back and forth until the acid rises again. I can roughly get 600 mutagel every time the acid lowers on my 4x harvesting server, so 300 should be possible on official during those 2x events
Gen2 makes leveling chibis so easy, at the point where It might go insane. I literally found 4 Alpha rexes in like 20 minutes, not to mention other 3 Alpha carnos and 3 raptors. I got my unicorn chibi into level 6 in half hour

So 4 rexes, 3 carnos, and 3 raptors does NOT give you 6 chibi levels. I counted all the alpha rexes I killed and I was at about 50 and by the end my chibi was ONLY level 4

Hey syntac! I would like to share my method when I am gathering Mutagel: Instead of using any tools to harvest it I use the tek suit punch. The good thing about this is that you can double jump right after destroying the rock. Thereafter you can punch your way to the nearest stone again. This method is efficient and the most Mutagel I have gotten out of one stone is 9 Mutagel. Another good thing with this method is that you can have around 1500 weight on you before you have to drop some of your stuff!
If using S+, use your Stryders excavation rig and link the resource to a dedicated storage at your base, add the resources of burden to your S+ Inv Assistant. You should be able to gather that resource over the whole map, and return to base empty.
The Best way I got Mutagen was to go to Rockwells heart in Rockwells innards and if you wait, the acid below it will dissapear and you can grab a bunch of Mutagen before the acid returns
They do despawn at 1:30 but they respawn in roughly the same area with the same level. So if you’re in the middle of taming at 1:30 you’re screwed but if you saw a max level and you’re afraid it will be gone then don’t worry it will be back. From what I’ve tested they come back in about 30 in game minutes

Or just go into Rockwell's biome and under the boss terminal there a bunch of mutaGEL you can mine with a mining drill when acid drains. Everytime I go down I leave with over 100. It doesn't spawn anything. Only mutagen does.

The best way for mutagel in the ambergris space biome, or element (actual element) in the shard space biome is mantis with a pick, especially that you can tame them with rhino horns now
Wyrm is an old English term for dragon, originally from Proto-Germanic, and can also just be spelled Worm. Technically referring to a monstrous serpent without arms or legs (such as the legendary Lambton Worm), it's generally a "poetic" way of referring to a dragon. 'Dragon' encapsulates wyverns, worms/wyrms, basically any giant reptilian monster in old European mythology. Snakes were even considered to be little dragons.

1. He doesn’t have a dedicated storage nor will he get one anytime soon, especially when he doesn’t loot supply drops often 2. You can’t put ambergris in a dedicated storage… 3. You link it to extract element shards.
Syntac, for what i´ve seen you can get astrodelphis saddles by doing the maewing race in alpha, there's a chance of getting it as well as there was another mission which gave astrocetus saddle
Mutagel can also be picked up beneath Rockwells Beating heart. On my server every 30 minutes REAL time the liquid drains out allowing you to gather Mutagel. (Timing MAY be dependant of day/night cycle I have not altered mine to find out.) Best way to gather it is with a hand held mining drill.
Go underneath Rockwells Heart with a good Mining drill, kill the tentacles and stuff around and start gathering the small wierd looking stuff on the ground and you get 1k+ Mutagel each run, just watch out for the acid tides ;) Also, Link your Strider to a dedicated Storage (Vanilla, S+ does not work ATM afaik) so you can get rid of all the ambergris, also a Mantis with a good pick, is the way to go for Mutagel in the Space Biom, HF! Still loving your channel, you do a great job and i enjoy you beeing here for so long, for the community and for ark, keep it up please, i would really miss you when ARK II hits us all :D
You can get the astrodelphis saddle from white drops, and I believe the chibis go to level 6 and give 15 levels. Also name suggestion for your voidwyrm: taser face from guardians of the galaxy. Also yes they do despawn when the biome changes but as long as you are within render of one it doesn’t seem to despawn
Hi Syntac (hopefully you see this), According to Dododex: Mantis are the best at harvesting mutagel. Magmasaur is second best but you can't get them in Genesis Pt 2. And in third place is the picaxe. I'm hoping this helps you and maybe you could experiment to see if this is correct 👍
I’m just dissatisfied it’s literally a rehash of a wyvern with a “new” breath that dosent do damage to Dinos no new abilities same sounds Just different look
Hey bud, you actually lost 2 levels, which is insane with a 99% tame effectiveness. 222×.5=111; 222+111=333. With that being said, you know you automatically lose one level even with a perfect 99.9% tame, so in reality you only lost 1 level.
Advice for Taming a Voidwyrm: Grind the Element and Ambergris Biomes until you have more than enough element and mutagel respectively to tame a nice Astrodelphis and Voidwyrm. (Grind extra element for Astro fuel) Note: Both biomes you should use a pick as hand harvesting gets more whole element and more mutagel. Complete missions as the Astrodelphis saddle is in the mission rewards loot table. You can also get them with the hexagons you earn from the top two loot crates.(I believe it's Velonsaur stalk but I could be wrong about this) Tame yourself an astrodelphis and put some levels into it's health. (They take element and pets to tame) Once you've done that fly out into space with a simple pistol and a few bullets, a riot shield in your off hand, element for your astro, and mutagen in your 0 slot. And look for a Voidwyrm (I recommend hunting around 2 am in game as it gives you plenty of time before the next ship jump. Also health potions are optional but very helpful) MAKE SURE YOUR ASTRO IS ON PASSIVE! If you can't find any wyverns commit dolphin genocide using the astro as this seems to promote spawns. After killing enough of them the wyverns will spawn on you like mad so rinse and repeat killing them and all the dolphins with your astro until you find a high level. Once you've found a high-level weaken it using the astro and once the blue trusters appear on the back of its wings hop off and shoot it once with your simple pistol (that way the wyvern will stunt and recognize your player as the one taming it) Shield equipped approach it and hop on then just focus on the text in the center of your screen and when it lights up hit e (again mutagen should be in your 0 slot) It will probably buck you off but if you stick with it all should go well. Side notes: If the wyvern heals above 10% it may not allow you to remount it, I have found that you can shoot it to weaken it again without losing taming effectiveness but this needs more testing The dolphin c attack doesn't seem to do anything to it The dolphin is fast enough to run them down and keep them in render in star fighter mode, also picking up bonuses will increase your damage and make the tame go faster This does work post dolphin nerf Good Luck!
Honestly the best way i found to get Mutagel from the ambergris rocks was the tek punch..... it only gives you one chance to get the mutagel but it seems that it drops like 75% of the time which was a little bit better than the pick. definitely between pick and tek punch though
I know this is a year later but, when your taking a voidwyrm next, and if you need to get down to the ground/trap. Do you super punch and then before it finishes, get out your map, worked for me very well!
WAIT there’s a 3rd way to get it! You can pick up Mut with your hands, they look like blue orbs at the bottom of heart acid pool. Can use strider to harvest them.
My issue with the voidwyrms is I wish it was like the tek stego Diff colors for different modes But with the breath attack Orange for fire Red for blood White for ice Blue for water Purple for lighting Green for poison
Voidwyrm breath damage is actually not that bad damage wise, the breath ticks at an incredible rate (like the mana's before a few adjustments) so it shows a low number when its roughly 100 dps ish or so, sadly it doesn't seem to scale with melee at all so it will always be at that 100 dps but the electrify on it makes it still worth using in pve for the attack reduction and slow. But as you said, it is definitely a pvp tame over pve(especially since that breath dismounts).
The special thing about the Voidwyrm is that it can damage tek structures with its breath. So useful for pvp, but its downside is that it needs to be within breath range of the structures to do damage. And that is on top of it having the same max level of wyverns and being tamable.
For getting Mutagen to get Mutagel when the space biome is Ambergris and you are playing on official or a non-modded server without hte S+ Omni tool, you can use the Stryder that is linked to a dedicated storage bin set to Ambergris and when the Ambergris goes into the Stryder's inventory it will transport to the bin right away freeing up weight. Stryder can only be linked to one box at a time. FYI the Stryder wont link to S+ or other mod created dedicated storage....yet.
Another good place to get mutagel is in innards, below the heart. When the stomach acid goes down, they are on the ground and you can use a whip to gather them.
Syntac if you read this please respond. If you go for the astrodelphis after taming their food drops with insane speed. Knocking them out, or getting them cryosick is the only way to fix them. (I got mine's cryosick, gave them meat and when they woke up they were fine.)
The best method ive found for mutagel is to do the dolphin race that halfs resource respawn times, then get a whip with materials to repair that whip, then go to rockwell's heart then below that to the rising/lowering acid chamber and when it lowers there are these little blue rocks of pure mutagel in clusters, the two biggest clusters is the one below the heart piller adjacent to the waterfall, the second is below the waterfall itself, because of the dolphin race boosting the resource respawns, when you gather one of those clusters with the whip, the other one will have respawned, so you can literally hover slightly off the ground with the whip and boost between the clusters until the acid rises again, on my 4x harvesting server I'm able to get roughly 600 mutagel before the acid rises again and it only takes like 30 seconds before its safe to collect again. Bring food and water of course and if the gel gets too heavy fly up to the Rockwell terminal and upload all of the gel you got and contenue collecting to your hearts content, and if you run out of materials for the whip they can be bought from H-NLA for cheap.
Can also get it from the element dust. What we have found to be the best way is do the mission for resources to replenish faster and under Rockwells heart you can gather it with a whip and use the tek suit to avoid the acid water as it rises and falls
If you scan the voidwyrm's health you can put the correct amount of ammo in a turrent to get it to low health without killing it, also I heard all this stuff about despawning at midnight but i tamed my space dolphin during the biome change and it didn't despawn
two words....dedicated. Storage. it holds almost limitless ambergris/mats. just collect with stryder, and resources auto transfer to the designated storage. farming anything becomes easy if you know where to find it.
For mutagel, considering the pick seems to be the best for you, I would try and tame a mantis. Mantis use the pick and may be able to get a significantly higher amount. Just a thought.
That would significantly decrease the timing. The reason he puts the mutagel in his hot at is because it stacks there instead of in his inventory, and that way he is free to quickly dump his inventory while maintaining all the mutagen that has stacked in his hot bar
Use a Stryder with the bed to respawn in case of death and place it in one of the tunnels and I suggest using your Shadowmane because the invisibility makes it easier to grab your stuff considering the voidwyrm has a very long Agro distance they get their buff and is able to move very quickly with their jump. This is specifically for vanilla Ark players because doing it without mods is actually very hard.
Ctrl, shift, C + Down is the best way to go down in space actually. And yes, they do despawn after the warp jump. So do astrocetus. Not sure about delphis, but I'd imagine so.
100% agree Hardest tame I have been able to tame, some are so hard I won't ever tame, like titanosaur with canons. But voidwyrm with the serversave spikes of official, that's hard as nails
For anyone who goes to the Rockwell heart area for Mutagel as it is a great place for it, although very dangerous. Extra danger, but be careful of your jet pack. I found that when you're too close to the gas & accidentally use it, it tends to light you on fire.. Makes sense, but also not something you tend to think about..
They do disappear when the biome changes. Like they’ll blip out of existence even if you’re interacting with them BUT they do come back for some reason. They don’t actually despawn. I think it’s a bug
I use a Mantis with a decent pick and always get tons of Mutagel. Mantis is pretty easy to move around the space biome and just use a couple astro's following behind to carry the extra weight.
What a grindy tame! Worth it though?

Syntac, for what i´ve seen you can get astrodelphis saddles by doing the maewing race in alpha, there's a chance of getting it as well as there was another mission which gave astrocetus saddle
day 9 of asking syntac to tame a r reaper
Mutagel can also be picked up beneath Rockwells Beating heart. On my server every 30 minutes REAL time the liquid drains out allowing you to gather Mutagel. (Timing MAY be dependant of day/night cycle I have not altered mine to find out.) Best way to gather it is with a hand held mining drill.
The level 66 voidwyrm has a 12,000 square foot mansion in Syntac’s head
Now to wait patiently for the 'fully mutated Voidwyrm' video.
Please Name the Voidwyrm “SteelWing”
Well I know im namin one-a mine that!
Go underneath Rockwells Heart with a good Mining drill, kill the tentacles and stuff around and start gathering the small wierd looking stuff on the ground and you get 1k+ Mutagel each run, just watch out for the acid tides ;)
Also, Link your Strider to a dedicated Storage (Vanilla, S+ does not work ATM afaik) so you can get rid of all the ambergris, also a Mantis with a good pick, is the way to go for Mutagel in the Space Biom, HF!
Still loving your channel, you do a great job and i enjoy you beeing here for so long, for the community and for ark, keep it up please, i would really miss you when ARK II hits us all :D
I find the tek punch gets even more than i pick might be wrong
You can get the astrodelphis saddle from white drops, and I believe the chibis go to level 6 and give 15 levels. Also name suggestion for your voidwyrm: taser face from guardians of the galaxy. Also yes they do despawn when the biome changes but as long as you are within render of one it doesn’t seem to despawn
They don’t give 15 levels I think they give 5 so one per level
Epic gamers would use a mantis to get mutogel smh
Get this man to the top of the comment section.
Yes
Yess these things are so cool! I’ve been wanting you to tame one of these for so long!!
Hi Syntac (hopefully you see this),
According to Dododex:
Mantis are the best at harvesting mutagel.
Magmasaur is second best but you can't get them in Genesis Pt 2.
And in third place is the picaxe.
I'm hoping this helps you and maybe you could experiment to see if this is correct 👍
"its coming back!!!!" this is why his vids are funny
I’m just dissatisfied it’s literally a rehash of a wyvern with a “new” breath that dosent do damage to Dinos no new abilities same sounds Just different look
it does do damage ive killed brontos with it
It does do damage to dinos just not worth it over other wyverns and it is much more suited for pvp. But yeah definitely disappointed in it...
Reminds me of u trying to trap the apex griffin in the Dox series
Hey bud, you actually lost 2 levels, which is insane with a 99% tame effectiveness. 222×.5=111; 222+111=333. With that being said, you know you automatically lose one level even with a perfect 99.9% tame, so in reality you only lost 1 level.
Advice for Taming a Voidwyrm:
Grind the Element and Ambergris Biomes until you have more than enough element and mutagel respectively to tame a nice Astrodelphis and Voidwyrm. (Grind extra element for Astro fuel)
Note: Both biomes you should use a pick as hand harvesting gets more whole element and more mutagel.
Complete missions as the Astrodelphis saddle is in the mission rewards loot table. You can also get them with the hexagons you earn from the top two loot crates.(I believe it's Velonsaur stalk but I could be wrong about this)
Tame yourself an astrodelphis and put some levels into it's health. (They take element and pets to tame)
Once you've done that fly out into space with a simple pistol and a few bullets, a riot shield in your off hand, element for your astro, and mutagen in your 0 slot. And look for a Voidwyrm (I recommend hunting around 2 am in game as it gives you plenty of time before the next ship jump. Also health potions are optional but very helpful)
MAKE SURE YOUR ASTRO IS ON PASSIVE!
If you can't find any wyverns commit dolphin genocide using the astro as this seems to promote spawns.
After killing enough of them the wyverns will spawn on you like mad so rinse and repeat killing them and all the dolphins with your astro until you find a high level.
Once you've found a high-level weaken it using the astro and once the blue trusters appear on the back of its wings hop off and shoot it once with your simple pistol (that way the wyvern will stunt and recognize your player as the one taming it)
Shield equipped approach it and hop on then just focus on the text in the center of your screen and when it lights up hit e (again mutagen should be in your 0 slot)
It will probably buck you off but if you stick with it all should go well.
Side notes: If the wyvern heals above 10% it may not allow you to remount it, I have found that you can shoot it to weaken it again without losing taming effectiveness but this needs more testing
The dolphin c attack doesn't seem to do anything to it
The dolphin is fast enough to run them down and keep them in render in star fighter mode, also picking up bonuses will increase your damage and make the tame go faster
This does work post dolphin nerf
Good Luck!
Honestly the best way i found to get Mutagel from the ambergris rocks was the tek punch..... it only gives you one chance to get the mutagel but it seems that it drops like 75% of the time which was a little bit better than the pick. definitely between pick and tek punch though
Yeah I normally get 7-15 gel every time I punch one of the rocks with tek punch
Name idea for the voidwrym, Nova
I can't even imagine taming this on an official server with official rates. Like wow props to anyone who takes the time to do that lol
I always use the Stryder and the s+ inventory tool to auto drop stone, metal and ambergris.
If Neebs Doraleous Thick and Appsro ever come to Genesis, i cannot wait to hear Appsro rage at trying to tame this thing lol
It is because they are tek variant’s that is why they have a higher excrement
I know this is a year later but, when your taking a voidwyrm next, and if you need to get down to the ground/trap. Do you super punch and then before it finishes, get out your map, worked for me very well!
Mantis with a high quality pick is the best method I've found.
35:01 “Let me take on these two guys here.” nice
WAIT there’s a 3rd way to get it! You can pick up Mut with your hands, they look like blue orbs at the bottom of heart acid pool. Can use strider to harvest them.
25:38 Laughs in Managarmr
My issue with the voidwyrms is
I wish it was like the tek stego
Diff colors for different modes
But with the breath attack
Orange for fire
Red for blood
White for ice
Blue for water
Purple for lighting
Green for poison
I'm so new to the channel I downloaded ark the other day and your such an idle syntnac 👏
Voidwyrms and the other space creatures do indeed despawn and new creatures respawn when the new asteroid arrives
17:10 ya that's how i tamed mine... it work prety well after some practice, whit that tek run and the right timing it's relatively safe
Flame Arros and a Crossbow works fine, shooting, flying straight away while reloading
Voidwyrms have a Nasty habit of continuously flying straight until they fly off of the map :)
3:21 yes, metal pick seems to be the best way to harvest in space for element and mutagel n stuff
Syn, You can go under the heart in rockwells innards and there is pure mutagel down there.
you can farm it with the stryder or just a mining laser.
@snytac you can gather it underneath Rockwells heart, the acid water goes away every now and then, place is filled with Mutagel nodes...
100% agree
Hardest tame I have been able to tame, some are so hard I won't ever tame, like titanosaur with canons.
