  • Lee Bowman stars as the famous sleuth. Great live kinescope originating from the DuMont Network. This entire series has fallen into the public domain from lack of copyright renewal.

This is very precious - imagine a now 65 year old kinescope from a live production. Very well done from the beginnings of television. I also enjoyed seeing the advertisements from Kaiser-Frazer.

Very interesting and thank you for the upload. Helene Hanff who later went on to write 84, Charing Cross Road - and many other books - wrote for this show. Coincidentally, she wrote this episode.

The most interesting parts are the car adverts.

I remember them on the road when I was a little kid. They were among the easiest cars to identify while playing "name that car" on a long drive with our parents.

Not much of a mystery, since we see whodunit, but an interesting relic from television's early days.
