We call it the dead sea. Keep going there lol. Honestly, unless you want kokanee, best to hit CO stocked reservoirs... I've caught larger trout in the ditch on the east side!
Hattie has a good shelf about 50 yards off the dam, running from the boat launch to the northeast corner of the lake. That’s where a lot of people pull Kokanee and big rainbows in the early summer. May be worth trying but beware of the undertow near the spillway at the south end of the dam.
@@TheWaterloggedWoodsman Probably not as turbid and windy though. It's worse than fishing the north Atlantic in terms of wind and turbidity on average.
Those boaters probably know what you’re doing and purposely did that. Some people have no respect for other people’s hobbies. That lake is full of nice fish and their quite large but super hard to locate. Thanks for showing the under water structure it was cool to see!
@@TheWaterloggedWoodsman We don't have that sort of licensure, or much other licensure in WY at all. Be careful out there man, my buddy went snorkeling to find fish for us off my boat there on your path and I watched over him because few would know what a flag means here.
Try diving the area 500 yards out from the boat ramp if you go again, very surprised you didn’t see anything. There’s a lot of big trout in there
Maybe I just picked the wrong spot. Huge reservoir and I swam a lot of coastline.

If you could spear trout in Colorado I would’ve. Unfortunately Colorado only allows trash fish unlike Wyoming.

You went out on A kayak? YOUR CRAZY! Lake hattie has drowned the most people ever!
Yeah I'm not worried about it. Lake Hattie is like a puddle compared to some of the stuff I've dove and surfed in.
I don't take my ice shack there anymore because it's dangerous AF.

Great vids! We are experienced ocean spearos - is there anywhere you'd recommend spearing during the Fall?
You gotta narrow it down a little. I've dove quite a few places around the country. Are you talking fresh or salt?

Yeah its hard to tell from satellite or the bank or even sonar. Swimming it always tells it best.
Put “Diver” on the flag
The flag means diver. And every boater license course teaches people about it.
But obviously people are not understanding if they pull on your line.. difficult to misinterpret the word “Diver”
Just trying to help 🤷♂️

Thanks for your videos.
