This is the first TED Talk in a long while that actually gives you a recipe for doing what the topic is meant to teach. A lot of the other talks that I have seen just talk in general philosophical terms with no real substance.

      Start small (build moment first)
      Focus on only 1 thing
Find few people who will hold you accountable

I‘m incredibly awed about how openly he speaks about his addiction. So happy he managed to turn his life around and that he is trying to help others do the same.

Brilliant talk!!! Straight to the point and the content is pure gold. I just don't understand why RUclips doesn't promote such amazing talks to everyone and instead I see as suggestions videos I would never want to watch a second of.

It's easy to start with small. Though it's very hard to make integral part of our life that small changes, succeeding in that task is based upon persistence. For that getting help and support from anyone and anywhere is great way to be persistent.

I specifically searched for this topic or else I never would have seen this and then would have been the poorer for it. This was very clear. It reminds me of a talk by Jordan Peterson based on work by James Clear and he called it "the aggregate of marginal gains". The idea being that if you aimed to improve yourself by only 1% through all tasks and areas of your life each day, you WOULD see successes in many areas at the end of the year, just by striving to do a little more, or a little better each day.

Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. Change your behavior all you want but if you continue to rely on your own strength apart from Christ your living a vain life headed for disaster.

    • @OrthodoxChristian809

On the contrary. Religious belief is the ultimate vanity because it teaches that mankind are God's special beings, whereas, in reality, we're merely another type of animal. This mindset requires humility.

Marie, you are 100% correct. Anyone who trusts in God and His Word is doomed to failure and eternal separation from God. Thank you for taking a strong for the Lord Jesus!
