The movie was only out 4 years ago. Bandai could’ve at least made their shma king ghidorah, in fact all their Monsterverse action figures way better and accurate.

Absolutely amazing job Hiya did with this figure, the details are very on point and captured Ghidorah's look from the film greatly. I also did not expect to add that the folds sections on his wings can separate re-creating his roar in front of the cross scene from the film, that is just going above and beyond. I'm very happy I pre-ordered this figure and can't wait to get it.
It's a shame that Bandai didn't offer us such amazing figure especially with their crazy price

As a Chinese, I can read his subtitles and he seems like a really good reviewer. He mentions some specifics as well without being too long winded. For instance he demonstrates that one of the ankle joints only clicks into 2 fixed positions.

He also mentioned that attaching the tails took a lot of effort and he used a hairdryer.

Do you think the ankle joints have fixed positions so he can more easily stand up on his own without the weight of the figure pushing them into a different position, causing it to topple over?

That figure looks amazing. I couldn't help but think how cool a Smaug figure would look if this company made one.

Its actually not half the price. Everyone thinks SHMA is ridiculously priced but what you're seeing is retailers adding on ridiculous import fees (around 40% on just about every figure). The SHMA Ghidorah retailed in Japan for roughly the same price as this.
@@cfighter95 but that's the thing, that's only in Japan. Take away fees and potentially paying for shipping and this figure is still MUCH cheaper in price in America or maybe China (where it comes from) in comparison. This is the most expensive hiya figure to date sure, but only a fraction of a price compared to sh monsterarts's most ridiculously expensive figures (looking at you iris)
@@Kaiju-bm4ts I don't know what Hiya charges in China, so maybe it's cheaper. All I know is Hiya directly sells worldwide for the prices they set, and Bandai sets the MSRP for SHMA figures FAR cheaper than international retailers charge. I'm just pointing out that the prices people refer to with SHMA isn't the actual MSRP. It's the retailer drastically inflating the price.
Even Iris had an MSRP of 29700 yen, or just under $200. Yet retailers bumped that up to 300.

I'm sitting there amazed at how the thing is standing without the use of any of the three stands and Heisenberg is saying how "you're not going to be able to get away from the stands" the entire time. LoL.
This figure is so much more detailed and better painted than the SHMA. I also noticed that none of the joints popped off easily when he was articulating them.
HOLY JESUS!!!!!!!!!! Hiya toys is Killing it, makes me wonder how Mechagodzilla will look.
The MechaGodzilla SH is almost unbeatable (but emphasis on Almost XD)
The ways Hiya could unseat the MechaSH would be in Paint, Accessories or some extra body function (like the rear rockets that SH didn't put in)
But if we only go to Articulation and Sculpting, then it could only tie it but not surpass it

Look, if there’s anyone who actually likes SHMA’s Ghidorah, it’s me. I PREORDERED the SCV and I love it to death, it’s basically my prized possession.
SO BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY that this is absolutely the better choice. The detail and paint is truthfully remarkable and the price point is also ludicrously low. The stiff wings were not a dealbreaker for me on the SHMA (honestly, I didn’t really care) but the articulated wings here are masterfully done and look gorgeous. I truly have no idea how this was done at this pricepoint, but I am here for it because it means BANDAI might have to start trying.
And people would still say Hiya is NOT Shm killer. I guess we'll wait until Hiya makes all the Heisei to compare it. Beating Shm's MV is a much easier task as Bandai seems to hate MV to its very core with every single releases in every shape and form. Heisei would be the true battleground. I also hope they'll get license for SJHU. I want Exquisite Basic Shin Goji along with the Awakening and Frozen ver. too. Throw in Shin Ultraman as well, in Hiya Exquisite Mini as it is a tiny figure line, perfect to scale with MV from Basic as Lipiyah is around half Goji's height.
I don't think Hiya is going to kill SHMA considering how deep most godzilla collectors are into that line. They'll render SH's monsterverse figures worthless at most because Hiya is actually doing other monsterverse titans like the skullcrawler and MUTO, and Bandai never bothered with expanding their monsterverse line outside of the Toho licensed monsters besides Kong...and that's only because Kong is a title character. But as far as classic Godzilla figures? SHMA is just too far ahead for anyone that was already invested in the line to drop it for Hiya.
@@bretbuckley704Yeah, until Hiya offers figures from every single era of the Godzilla franchise, as well as Gamera, and have all of those figures be good, they won’t render SHMA obsolete nor worthless anytime soon. They’re another player in the game, nothing more.
I own both the SH G19 and the Hiya G19, and despite them based off of the same character, they’re different enough from one another and have their respective strengths, that they can both easily share a shelf space.
@@danieldickerson4838Hiya toys has the license now to make all Godzillas, and Ehhh unless Sh Monsterarts does an actual good job this go round on Minus One Godzilla, hate to say it but there isn't much hope for them compared to Hiya toys, Minus One Godzilla is the only SHMA I'm waiting on, after that I'm done with the line, they just ain't as good as they was few years back.

Yo Luminous! Great update on the hiya Ghidorah and boy it is a *BEAST!!!* Hiya really outdid themselves and to see it support it's own weight with those massive wing is very impressive and to see the wings separate in segments is quite the feature to recreate scenes from the film. Well done Hiya!!!

With their rising prices and dwindling quality, this proves just how much Bandai of Japan has been taking advantage of Godzilla fans. Having Hiya and Super7 as options is a great thing.
What I like to is that his stand is poseable. The chest stand for the SHMA was a single nonmovable piece, but having a poseable pole like here is a smart idea.

They went all in with this one, probably because is the most expensive figure that they have made. I'm so happy with the result, best Monsterverse figure for sure.

Yes you can avoid the stands , XPLUS accomplished this and made Ghidorah 1 piece, a brilliant engineering feat for the collecting community, I know because I have the RIC light-up version.

Kind of random but with their treatment of the monsterverse, Id love to see Hiya do a Smaug… apparently theres never been a decent smaug figure which is shocking to me. Just one limited release that was pretty small.

If you look at godzilla and ghidorah (count wings) he is 2 godzilla in size
Ghidorah's skull in GVK also wasnt that big, so the heads are the right size, also, full mouth articulation as oppose to the miniscule one the SHMA had
If they can keep that quality up I'd love for them to do classic Godzilla figures. That's honestly a lot better than what Monsterarts is putting out.

Great review! The fact that it exists is encouraging, in terms of a December US date. I preordered the Mezco "Ultimate Godzilla" (over 31 inches long) from BBTS a couple years ago. He is more than a year overdue now with no sightings yet of the actual product having been produced.

I’ve wanted to collect the major MonsterVerse characters for a while and Hiya Toys is finally making quality figures of them! And the one I want the most (Ghidorah) is sold out on Amazon which sucks because they have free shipping. And Kong Rodan and Mothra all release in January while Godzilla is coming in July

Could have been done better they should have taken some stretch cloth and put in between the wings that can be added and removed this way when you bring the wings apart you hide those gaps and it doesn't look like the wing is split.
Still a amazing looking piece tho.

The heads are correctly sized on this figure it just that we've gotten used to the massive heads on the dumpster fire that is the sh monster arts Ghidorah
I mean all previous Ghidorah iterations had a larger head to body/neck ratio, so for most ppl thats kinda the default impression regardless of the SHMA figure. Buy yeah to the MV it's scaled correctly
