The episode features a relaxing day at the lake, a delicious fish fry, as well as the adventure and importance of campfire safety and proper fire-building techniques. This episode invites you to enjoy the natural beauty of the state park with us as we highlight the many activities and amenities available to campers with diverse experiences. The video promotes the joys of camping and encourages more people to explore the outdoors and connect with nature.
Located in Columbus County 40 miles west of Wilmington, Lake Waccamaw State Park sits on the shores of the largest Carolina bay. There are 500,000 of these mysterious craters, and the lake is one of the few that contains open water instead of vegetation. A limestone bluff reduces the lake's acidity, making it an ideal home for several aquatic species found nowhere else in the world. A pedestrian bridge over Waccamaw Dam allows visitors to travel the lake's entire 14-mile shoreline.
Black Folks Camp Too’s mission is to remove fear, add knowledge, and invite MORE folks to camp and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle with any and everyone. At the center of BFCT’s logo and featured in each episode is the Unity Blaze, which means “Treat Everyone, Everywhere, Equally.” Your race, age, and gender do not matter. We all have something to say around the campfire.
