Kuroko's voice actor actually sings the new opening! I also like how Akashi's words are why even to the present day, Kuroko always is super pokerface and reserved, it is all to play basketball.
Kuroko tripping at 20:50 is a fun callback to the Kaijo match where he tried to make Furihata less nervous when he gets subbed in for his first game where Kuroko tells him not to be nervous, and that "During my debut game, I tripped and got a nosebleed." It's funny to see the moment he referenced at the time brought to life here.
Great reaction as always! It would be very interesting to hear your opinion as a coach at the end of this mini arc like how would you manage this team or what do you think could be done differently. I feel like this arc does an amazing job showing group dynamics and psychological perspective, so I’ve been waiting for you to react to these episodes since the start of your KnB reactions :)
3:16 I like the piano cover to confuse the algorithm lol 21:30 Nijimura is the captain, while Akashi is the vice captain. It’s only the first year, so Akashi isn’t captain yet 27:31 they aren’t brothers, just friends from elementary school
When you said they should have just picked the players with coloured hair 😂 I remembered this interesting detail. The Generation of Miracles names are based on their hair colors: 1. Red - Aka - Akashi 2. Yellow - Kiiro - Kise 3. Green - Midori - Midorima 4. Blue - Ao - Aomine 5. Purple - Muraskai - Murasakibara
That black haired man is their former captain of Teiko before Akashi he's Shuuzo Nijimura but sadly he retired from basketball because he needs to take care of his father. He's like Aomine but with the teamwork and was the No.1 power forward 😊
Cool thing about generation of miracles is all of them are named after colors Aka(red)shi, Midori(green)ma, Murasaki(violet)bara, Ao(blue)mine, Ki(yellow)se, Momoi(Momoiro-pink), Kuro(black as for shadow)ko and meanwhile their captain is named Niji(Rainbow)mura so thoughtful of the author
this is the arc I wanted to see from the coach's perspective, because there are some things that are going to happen here that I really want to know from the perspective of an athlete and a coach how he would have seen things and handled players and situations because this arc is super cruel with the kids
It’s maybe hard to miss but they talk about how they won nationals but “it was close”. The 5 members of the generation of miracles were just really good players (better than others), but still not the ridiculous players they are now. Midorima was just a really good 3 point shooter, he wasn’t hitting mid or full court shots, akashi was good but didn’t have his emperor eye. Aomine was a fast forward but not unbeatable. That’s why akashi was worried and wanted to find someone like kuroko to improve the team (They show later how everybody has his breakthrough and kise also joins the team)
Exactly. Kuroko mentions a few times that each miracle bloomed sometime in middle school and became absolutely ridiculous. Right now in this episode they are just very skilled but not godlike
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 yeah when they first play against midorima kuroko had only seen him shooting half court shots. He was surprised to ser him hit full court shots with 100% accuracy
From what I heard, middle school sports is taken very seriously and they have regular seasonal tournaments, I suppose shows like Kuroko really make it seem veryy serious because we barely ever see these middle school kids doing "kid" stuff, studying, family life etc. Also Akashi isn't really a psycho - but you will see more on why he became the way he did.
I think you got it confused coach: The early drafts for the series made it so Kuroko and Akashi were supposedly siblings but they changed it before they released it hence why Kuroko and Akashi seem to have similar heights and visuals. The one Kuroko is texting/sending mail is actually his friend...
If you like that ed song then you should check some other knb songs, they have so many character songs for each character and you can hear them singing. I would recommend kuroko and akashi song "Answer" its just so beautiful and heart touching song, and you will get to hear akashi and kuroko singing together.
non-japanese speakers might not catch this, but akashi is speaking more politely, more respectfully to everyone with his choice of words. he also addresses his teammates by their first names. this is supposed to be jarring because we went from high school akashi who was speaking down to everyone, addressing them by their family names (it's a sign of superiority and distance) to this. at the end of the last episode we learnt from midorima and kuroko that there are "two akashis", so that was supposed to be the hook. easy to miss!
you got it the other way around. high school akashi addresses the others by their firstnames: daiki, tetsuya, etc. middle school akashi is polite and thus calls them by their familynames: kuroko, aomine, etc. japanese use lastname firstname when introducing: kuroko tetsuya (lastname firstname) the more polite you are the more respect you give to the name and you usually call them by their lastnames. if you are super close or as you say want to show superiority you call them by your firstname.
These episodes are like catching your breath after the intense match with Kise. But it won't be long now until the finals! Can we get some predictions for the final match coach?
Just some feedback for mister editor that the music at te very beginning of the video with coach doing the intro was way too loud compared to coach's voice. Looking forward to you seeing this backstory!

Hey coach, figured I'd dip in for clarifications/reminders this episode again and to leave some notes. Before I begin, I'd like to express gratitude for the content again though. Watching this series of yours is one of the first things I do in the day when I see that a new episode is out. During the intro the sound mix is a bit off. It's difficult to hear what you're saying, but otherwise the sound is fine. We are in fact in a flashback arc where we are going through Kuroko's time in Teiko and the time before they were known as the generation of miracles and what led up to that. The author of the letter at 6:00 is the person briefly mentioned in the last episode. Kuroko's friend who taught him how to play basketball and with whom he made a promise to play in matches against, Ogiwara. Kuroko also claimed that Ogiwara stopped playing basketball because of what Kuroko did. He's not Kuroko's brother, Kuroko doesn't have a brother. To clarify at 7:40 when they're reading up names. They're reading the names of the people joining the third string, which means the people furthest away from playing in official matches. So Kuroko is hoping that they don't read his name, which they end up doing. Which is why the people around him get happy to not have had their names read. Make note of Aomine's quote at 12:41, what it means for him to say that and keep it in mind for future episodes. As stated earlier in the series, Akashi does indeed become the captain of Teiko. But this is during their first year in Teiko at which point Nijimura, the player at 21:27, is the captain and Akashi is the vice captain. As for your question during the ending song, we haven't gotten to see Nijimura in the show up until now.
I'm surprised you weren't able to catch the animation at 2:36 where Kuroko starts to disappear, Coach. I guess Kuroko misdirected you too, since you're always so attentive to these details ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kuroko is just talking to one of his friends that goes to a different school.
I see. Thanks for the info.
