I use lots of different kinds of pencils, for this drawing I used a 4b which is a soft lead and gives a darker color. Glad I could help! :) thank you for watching!

I'm so glad to see a left handed artist showing how to draw. I've drawn since childhood, now a senior citizen, but I've never see anyone explain drawing horses so thoroughly before. Thanks...

When drawing the first lines, use very little pressure on the pencil... this will make it easier to erase the lines later.

I am glad you tried it! Twice even! That is AWESOME!!!! If this is something you really want to learn how to draw, don't give even after two tries. Draw somethings that are a bit easier, maybe another animal and then come back to drawing a horse head. Horses are pretty tough but with enough practice, you'll get it!

I have been drawing for many years, mine came out like cartoons for a long time. :) Just keep at it and don't give up. Use tracing paper and trace pictures of horses to help you see how the lines flow then try it again on your own. God bless you!

I don't have a "Brand" that I recommend rather choose a softer lead to shade with. Like a 4B. It will blend nicly... but they also smear too. Any local art store would be able to show you a good brand of pencil! Hope that helps!:)

Thank you! Drawing has always been a skill that I do not share. You make it look so easy. Well, in time I guess the talent gets better... I do not know about 'horse breath' scented perfume though...LOL! Can you imagine an actress like Charlize Theron being the spokesperson? "When I want HIM to notice, a little spritz of Horse Breath perfume makes my man want to horse around! Nay means yay!" 🤣

No I live in the USA. I used google translate to reply to the flemish comment. But that is great that you are learning another language! I was in Cambodia for a few weeks and learns a few words. It is fun to learn something new!!!
Sorry it goes too fast. The pause button helps to slow things down. That is what I do when I am following along with a video. Keep drawing and God bless

Don't give up! Keep trying and you will get it. I looked at a lot of pictures of horse eyes when I was learning.

This is such an old video,when I was a bit younger like 8,I watched this video and it really helped.Sometimes I show the horse drawings to my friends and they say,"how did you draw that?",and I told them that it's from this video,thank you for your help. :D

I am a total horse FREAK!! I love them so much but I used to suck at drawing them but after this.... oh my gosh. I totally surprised myself! And u are soooooo right horse breath smells great and they make horse breath perfume ;)

Note back to self: This only works if you practice. Art is something anyone can learn and be good at. Somepeople just get it easier then others... we call those people "Artistic people" Others have to really work at it and it can be very hard but anyone can learn to draw. Don't give up, if you want to draw this bad enough, and you work hard enough, you will be able to draw this and anything! :)

hi, this was a great video. It really helped me a lot. However, I had to redraw the bottom of the horses head because the original circles were too far apart, and when I erased the lines, it looked like a unicorn gone wrong. However, it was a great tutorial! thanks so much!
You are NOT wired. I LOVE the smell of horses. Sadly I don't get to be around them much at all which is why I thank you for helping me learn how to draw them.
While I wouldn't spray it ON myself. Around my room maybe. Setting out a few of my horse toys that way, I can PRETEND I'm at the stable.

Study artists who you enjoy their work, keep practings and pushing yourself to be better. If art is something you really want to pursue, you have to put in a lot of time. I would love to see some of your work.

horses were always hard for me but you taught me the real good way i just looked at the shapes as gears.

You're drawing is amazing! I've been drawing horse head since i was little and they come out rather cartoon/Anime style instead of realistic haha. I've been trying to make them look more real but i seem to mess the mane/Forlock up or the shading goes terribly wrong haha! Could you possibly give me a few tips on how to improve those points? I have two horses ou in a feild in front of my house, I love them so much. Your video was vey helpful and after drawing a spent an hour or so just being near my horse and hugging them. fun fact: marwaris are a very skinny but yet strong horses, they ears are curved inside, they are really tall, and they are from india, they are really special horses, and the horse she drew looks like a quarter horse to me idk why
