Hello! The original of this song was created and performed in 1997 by the group N.EX.T (abbreviation for "New Experimental Team") for the soundtrack of the cartoon "Soul Frame Lazenca" and is part of the album entitled "Lazenca: A Space Rock Opera House". This cartoon is a masterpiece characterized by the magnificent sound of an orchestra, a choir and the brittle shouting voice of the great artist Shin Hae-chul himself.
Singer, songwriter and record producer, Shin Hae-chul was one of the most influential figures in modern Korean pop and rock music. Dead at the age of 46 (due to multiple medical malpractices), he was the one who wrote a new chapter in Korean pop history, expanding his musical world from rock 'n' roll to love songs, rap, music dance and techno and even a cappella.
Forestella performed this song on December 25, 2021 as contestants on "Immortal Songs 2". The imposing interpretation, the harmony of the voices, the powerful visual spectacle enhanced by the computerized effects today raise this song to a completely different level. Through top-notch artistic performance, Forestella establishes itself as one of the most appreciated groups in the Asian entertainment industry.

KBS Immortal Songs (I'll say IS) is a kind of remake rendition competition show for legendary musicians. Usually, someone living legend in Korean music is invited and 6~12 teams compete with a rendition of the songs related to the legend. But sometimes there are episodes inviting nobody and having specific themes. Now it's changed a little, the numbers of teams to 5~15. IS diversed the invited artists more like not only living legends but also popular young artists.
Each episode has a winner by audiences votes. At each half of the year, there's a King of the Kings episode (I'll say KoK). At the KoK episode, the winners from each episode through the period compete with each other with any cover they choose. So in KoK, no legend is invited.
This performance was from 2021 King of Kings episode in Immortal Songs. This song Lazenca Save us is a famous OST of Korean animation series Soulframe Lazenca a legendary band N.EX.T made. (The song was a big hit but the animation series was not that successful tho)

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.

Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.

Forestella made her official debut as a group called forestella in 2018, winning a crossover group audition program called JTBC Station Phantom Singer 2 in 2017.
Before the program aired, the four were vocal majors, musical actors, and researchers at Hwahwaksa.
They can sing in any genre such as vocal music, rock, dance, rap, ballad, pop, etc., and sing in any language such as English, Italian, Spanish, African Zulu and Russian.
The members' names are Go Woo-rim (base), Cho Min-kyu (resero tenor), Bae Doo-hoon (musical actor, tenor), and Kang Hyung-ho (counter tenor & soprano).

Great reaction video! Forestella is the best crossover quartet in the world. Those four men are so individually talented, but together they are fire. They literally cross over language and genre better than any group I’ve ever seen. How many times I’ve watched them perform a song and say, “Wow. I have goosebumps. INFO, the group you spotted was Ateez, they were on a show called Immortal songs, which has 6 singers going off against each other, with the audience being the judges. This was a king of king special which forestella have won about 4 times. They are considered a crossover group, they can interpret songs and make it their own, they do classical, korean pop but even songs like Shape of you which is a classic, scarborough fair which is breathtaking and lady gaga's bad romance. in mainstream songs.....EDITED** each episode of immortal songs has a theme or singer in which they can choose their own songs. Forestella on immortal songs have this thing, as someone described it on the show they dont just harmonise they bend notes. They have a sound that just captivates you.....

Yes, you are so right. FORESTELLA is incredible. They are considered one of the best vocal groups in the world and they are unclassifiable. Their genre is CROSSOVER and they are partly classically trained. (1 tenor and the bass are masters of vocal music). They mix in a uniquely skilful way rock/pop/opera, sometimes more or less strongly. One goal of FORESTELLA is to show that classical music in the form of classical singing and techniques and POP/Pock can go very well together. EACH member is an outstanding talent in his own right and together they are dynamite. This constellation of unusual voices, vocal ranges and incredible technical skills is unique and makes them unbeatable. I definitely recommend their version of "MAMA" (Original by EXO) and their version of "Legends Never Die" (from League of Legends). Both unbelievable performances. that sounds so damn great!!!

OST of Korean animation Soul Trooper Lazenka. Shin Hae-cheol(the vocal of 'N.EX.T whe passed away by very unfortunately wrong treatment and response of disperfect medical sergery') was in charge of writing, composing, and arranging the lyrics. It was released on November 7, 1997. It was first included in N.EX.T's 4th album 'Lazenca: A Space Rock Opera', and was re-arranged and included in , released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Shin Hae-cheol's debut. The genre is symphonic metal. It is often referred to as Korean symphonic metal.

Forestella is actually a classical crossover quartet group of 4. The four members formed in JTBC Phantom Singer, an audition survival program for classical singers, with 2 classically trained singers, 1 musical actor, and 1 'freak of nature' singer 😁
The bass, Ko Wo Rim, is a basso profondo opera singer classically trained at the Seoul National University. Bae Doohoon, the first started to sing, studied acting at Korea's National University of Arts and also a musical actor. Cho Mingyu, one of the tenors (the one with melodic harmony) is leggiero tenor opera singer also classically trained at the Seoul National University. Kang Hyungho, the second person started to sing, are the only one without any formal classical music training (but with a voice so powerful like a contra tenor, so he called a freak of nature) because he was a chemical engineering researcher and was the lead singer of a garage rock band as a hobby. He studied chemical engineering at Busan University and worked as a researcher after graduation at a quite big famous company before he resigned due to the more busy schedule of Forestella after their debut

I'm not quite sure, but Lazenca was the name of a giant robot to save the earth from the Korean animation which was released on TV a long time ago. Even though it was the animation for childrean, it was sung by one of the most famous rockers in Korea. That's why it has been famous so far.

They do the best cover of Bohemian Rhapsody ever and the cover of Legends Never Die is way better than the original. You can pretty much choose anything they have done and you will be surprised by how good it is. If you do any of their original songs then please do Save Our Lives before Utopia as they are part 1 and 2 of a trilogy. Looking forward to more Forestella reactions as they are the best vocal quartet in the world just now.
