  • Today we’re launching the first episode of our series Women of the Rijksmuseum. Host Cathelijne Blok, founder of The Tittymag, is meeting curator Ilona van Tuinen in the Gallery of Honour to discuss the work of Judith Leyster, one of the few 17th century Dutch women master painters.

    Isn't it really cool!
    There was this woman who by willpower made her self to become a professional painter.
    This tale alone is reason enough to have this persons paintings hanging on the walls of museums.
    I envy any person who has this kind of drive. I wish I had the same.
    Plus, I've seen the painting live a couple of times, and liked it a lot.
