Happy Mother's Day ya'll. In celebration of the people who are responsible for us existing at all and to continue my promise of making a video of every Miyazaki film that is released for Ghibli Fest, this video was made to accomplish both of those things. Rewatching Ponyo in preparation for this video was such a real treat. Hope you all enjoy this video as much as I did making it!

Lisa heals my Mommy Issues 😂
This feminine characterization done Right! I love the strong feminine characters in Ghibli films, be they mothers or children. It's something lacking in modern cinema, where every female characters' strength needs to take on masculine traits to be valid.
You're amazing at what you do. Its special. Keep pushing forward with your channel.
Love this comment, really great way of how Miyazaki and Ghibli develop their female characters! Also thank you for the nice words you left at the end, I truly appreciate it!
When me and my family went to watch this for Ghibli Fest, there was another family that sat next to us who had two toddler boys around 4-5 years old. I was a bit worried that they’ll cause trouble but they actually behaved very well. They were clearly into the movie with occasional quiet expressions of excitement. Those young boys showed more restraint and maturity than most adult Marvel fans.
Glad to know that literal babies and weebs are more emotionally mature and socially capable than marvel fans
🙂
Solid points and the animation looks gorgeous.
Glad you agree man, definitely give it a watch
Literally I want to be Lisa as a father one day. I love her values as a mother ❤
hey man i think your breakdowns are absolutely fantastic man. Keep it up buddy
Thanks man, really appreciate the kind words!
Lmao I just saw Ponyo in theaters for Ghibli fest, Lisa is a great mother and hilarious (fyi Lisa is bad though 👀)
That’s awesome, I’m assuming you enjoyed it? And also im confused, Lisa is a great mother but also bad?
@@timjongunproductions oh yeah, Ponyo is one of my fav Ghibli films. And saying she’s bad is slang for she’s hot(Lisa was one of my first fictional crushes lmao)
Ahh, ok gotcha, that kind of bad 😂.
Just came across your channel! Love the videos, keep up the awesome work 👏
That’s great to hear! I’m glad you found my channel, and I’m even happier you like my stuff. Definitely stick around, more content will be coming soon
Uh buddy im sorry but i think that lisa is not sosuke's mom, she looks more like his Step Mother, sosuke's hair is more dark than her's hair, and he call her "lisa" unstead "Mom" But it's just a theory, Im from brazil, all the best to you 😊
No need to apologize man 😂. Many have pointed out to me that Lisa is sosuke’s step mom and not actual mom, which is my bad for not realizing. Still, my argument still stands
He calls his dad Koichi too so I don't think that's the reason.
It's Po-nyo, not Pon-yo. I wish they had named this film something else to avoid it being mispronounced constantly.
ok nerd
I just rewatched Ponyo and, yes, Lisa is best mom
Glad you agree man!
Lisa is My favorite Studio Ghibli's mother!!😃
Awesome, glad you agree!
Ponyo movie made me cry.😢😭
Waaah😭😭😭
I thought Lisa was a Step Mom which is why he called her Lisa.
Awesome video ! Love this character indeed
So we’re just gonna ignore how many times she’s put Sosuke in life threatening danger
She drives like a maniac but she’s got a good spirit and attitude
@@Ploist If she had as much spirit as she did common sense, she wouldn’t have left her 4 year old son home alone
@@christianaguiare544 that is true yeah
It's a goddamn kids movie dude with a talking fish why are you trying to find logic in it
@@Mcsnickers_7 I’m not talking about the movie, and what’s with you guys anyway? I see you everywhere! This IS me enjoying the movie!
