The Power of Prayer - Rev. Barb Adams - February 2, 2025

My dear brothers and sisters,
Who taught you how to pray? What were you told to say when you prayed? When you bowed your head or closed your eyes…or looked out into the abundance of creation, were you pleading with God to answer your prayers? Or were you affirming what our Creator has already provided that might be just beyond your awareness?
Prayer is a very interesting topic, isn’t it? Unless you’ve been brought up with Unity teachings and Principles, you might still be carrying on the traditions of your childhood faith. And of course, there’s nothing wrong with this. May we never place blame or cast judgment on anyone who seeks to commune with our Divine Creator.
Unity teachings stress affirmative prayer. We reinforce abundance in all of its forms. We seek to raise our consciousness to the awareness of the Divine within and throughout. And the Five Unity Principles quite succinctly remind us of the Truth of the I AM, our oneness with this omnipresent Spirit, and ways that we may remember how to connect with God and bring out the good in our life.
