I remember these beasts! The WG was always overshadowed by the WP which seemed to hog the place of interest as India's passenger locomotive. However, the WG soldiered on silently, or not too silently, shifting the goods that kept India afloat. They were tremendous locomotives, often used in tandem for heavy loads. India could not have got the job done without them.
Hello Sir, would you please make a video on WDS-8, not many images are available and just 1 image on Wikipedia. looking forward to more learning related tp India Railways from you !!
When ever you talk of historical locos, then please do not forget to mention where it was designed and built (both the factory and the country and the year) or if in collaboration, then with whom. As I understand a lot of early English steam locos were later replaced with more powerful USA made bullet nose cone steam locos (WP class). Were WP class ever built with collaboration in India? If WG is an offshoot if WP then it is also an American design, is that true? Then Tata started producing steam locos in India too but whom did they collaborate with and what kind of steam locos did they build, what class etc? How many separate steam loco factories were there in India besides Tata Jamshedpur and Chitranjan workshop etc.etc?
