You don't sound like her mom, but more like her elder sister or a friend. This is good you have a wonderful relationship with your daughter, but I still dont know how you can be so cool.
I have a question for your Mom,
1. If girls aged 17-19 years dressed in scanty or minimum clothing came to your home for a party and your daughter insisted parents must go out of the home during the party, you come back home to find out that your daughters female friend is completely passed out drunk and she has no idea about her clothes, she has no idea of her condition infact absolutely hopeless... how would you react. What would you do.
2. Now lets change the scenario, you come back home you find your daughter is in same situation and she has no idea who is touching her and where, how would you react. What would you do.
3. Imagine the same situation where there was no adult and this happened at a bar or night club, boys who only became friend same night take advantage of her condition and tell the other friends we will drop her home, your daughter tells them yes I will be dropped you guys carry on. How would you deal with the situation if your daughter came home alone next morning.
4. Would you recommend parents, to be as cool ;like you and accept everything like a cool mom. Or do you recommend parents to keep some boundaries for children. What advise would you give to parents with your experience. Would you be the same kind of cool mother if your daughter was extremely Sexy and beautiful in the worldly sense (ofcoarse for parents their children are beautiful, this is why added the word sexy). Would you be the same cool mother knowing your daughter is not exactly mature even at 20 years, someone could take advantage of her. Daughters these days have a craze about showing off their skin wearing minimum clothes, would you allow your daughter to go out at night with extremely liberal clothing, knowing there are arabs in the night clubs where they are visiting at late nights (understand you live in Dubai so this is a typical question, parents are faced with this situation, what must they do).
5. Another question, Daughter get married and goes to joint family house hold, now there in-laws are not as liberal as you, what do you think will happen. Will your daughter be able to live with them. Most Parent are too afraid to say NO to their children today, children think they are adults...there is no middle grounds...its either ours were backward times or today are modern times.
6. How does your husband react to your liberal ways. Like to see a video of your husband answering same questions.
7. 30 years ago when I was growing up, a 30 year old girl in the Neighborhood was very very pretty but she was not getting too many marriage proposals, she slept with almost 50 boys she married 4 times each time she got divorced, her mother would pay good dowry to get her married but she would divorce in a year and then continue sleeping with Boys in the neighborhood of all religions and all Ages without exception. It was difficult to find out who had not slept with her. She was not charging money for sleeping, she would instead gift the boys who slept with her. I wonder how her mother felt about her daughter, perhaps she was born in an era where she was a mis-fit.
It is quite obvious from my questions, I am a parent of grown up children. Your answer could help me. Am I too paranoid as a parent or are you too liberal.
The way you're describing a daughter/girl here is pathetic tbh it's like youre talking about a toy to be preserved and not a person with brains(even people without maturity have such common sense) I wonder why everything is a fault in a daughter for you, whether its her clothes, habits or attitude? Why these kind of hypothetical situations just for daughters? Its always about give respect and take respect. Trust your girls atleast they're family not an outsider.
20yr olds have enough sensibility to know when to drink and how much to drink when we are not in the safety of our homes. We don't go about wearing "inviting" clothes to clubs and girls never trust anybody the first time they meet them, so trusting boys who just became friends is out of the question. The society has created enough paranoia in our young minds that we know never to leave drinks unattended and never accept it from someone we don't know or don't trust. We girls always go out in groups and no matter where we go, we never leave our friends alone with anyone. Our safety is our responsibility. No matter what kind of a parent you are, daughters have the right to make their own decisions. They have their own individuality. You can teach your children whats right and whats wrong and then trust them to make their own right judgements. Keeping them under your shelter until they get married and then handing them over to her inlaws wont make her independent and self reliant.

These are real incidents I described and in all theses cases the girls described were from INDIA , and these incidents happened in Dubai in front of my eyes. Not only these are real incidents, I am witness to these incidents. In a night club this incident happened, but because there was a conservative & vigilant INDIAN mom all the while watching the INDIAN girl who from across the room and alert even in the night club darkness was saved from the group of PK boys. This mom came to accompany her own daughter to the night club, her conservative behavior saved another mothers daughter who she did not know from before. Drinking habit can become into a dangerous situation, this is why the conservative mother in this example always accompanied her daughter to night clubs even when she went with her friends. It is not a girls thing, Me and my wife even go to night clubs even where my boys are going just to ensure they are going with safe friends and in safe environments, we watch them at a distance without letting the kids know we are there. But I dont expect other parents to be like me. Hence I asked questions to another parent. I can understand for children it is difficult to understand these these things. Nobody can know what goes inside you till you become a parent yourself.

These are not hypothetical situations, they are real incidents they happened in front of my eyes. A INDIAN girl coming from rich Indian family was drunk and knocked out in a party, fortunately the boys in the party were very decent. After she came to her senses, we drove 2+ hours to leave her home, but her parents were too cool, did not even bother to say thank you or even did not ask how she was knocked out, they were so cool about it. Almost use to daughter being dropped home late night in this condition.
In another incident, Seen a young INDIAN pregnant mother at a private party hosted in a public place with mostly Indian guests, the drinks were on the house most guests did not know each other. This pregnant mother was having a baby who was on breast feeding. But mother was knocked out drunk she was flat sleeping for 40 mins on the public toilet floor, her husband completely sober thankfully was holding the crying baby in his hands waiting for drunk wife to return back from the toilet, she had gone inside the toilet almost 45 mins ago. Nobody was bothered to inform husband or help her. Atleast 25 liberal women seen her lying on the floor but done nothing, Until one not so liberal and conservative INDIAN mother carried her like her own daughter. She had to be lifted and carried outside by this lady, and then someone hold the baby till husband carried wife to the car and then came back for baby. The drunk lady was not in condition to even remember next morning what happened to her. This is not hypothetical situation either, we are witness to this incident and the complete party was full of Indians but nobody bothered to even touch the girl, all came out of the toilet leaving her on the floor.
So these incidents are real reflections of society, it is nothing to do with respect. If these conservative people were not there she would be lying on the floor.
We parent trust their children, but we cannot predict what will happen, it is our good or bad luck.

These are also not hypothetical cases, they are real victims.
