I find when doing stiletto shaping if I put my file pressure towards the free edge it thins there and I only file where the tip meets the nail like one stroke to remove any bits on sidewall. The rest I have my pressure at an angle toward free edge. Also. Stopping Looking down the barrel of the nail during filing helps. Like if your client was pointing at you. I lift their nails and point the tip toward my eye and look up the nail to the cuticle area. If the very tip aligns with the center of the cuticle then Ik I’m aiming my file correct or that I need to work more on the right side etc. if I explained that poorly lmk! 😂 side note…you did amazingly. I only mention what helps me cause you mentioned it. Any time I can help someone with something I learned along the way 🤷♀️ sometimes I feel like I sound like a “know it all” but I only mean to help! 😘😘😘
