For those wondering, if any. Until the first service the engine is limited to 6500 rpm, that is why you see the flashing at 6000

Great getting your thoughts and feelings as an experienced rider on a bike associated with beginner riders.
I too have been riding motorcycles for 30 years yet was very impressed with this bike as I test rode it.
    Enjoy 🍻🍻

I think as you get older you appreciate the journey rather than getting to the destination at 120mph lol

Beautiful area and lake views around your area. I live in east Tennessee area with mountains and lakes too . I just got my first adventure bike myself too. A 2022 Kawasaki klr 650 and I also have a 2016 Yamaha fjr1300. But lately I have been watching alot of ktm 390 adventure videos. I'm a motovlogger channel myself and I just subscribed to you. Looking forward to seeing more ktm 390 videos.

Thanks man! I would love to get out to Tennessee someday, or move there lol. I hear it's very beautiful. Plus winter isn't as long like it is in NY. I had a 2016 Yamaha FZ09, it was an insane bike and I almost died on it a couple times and I got out of street bikes until I found out about adv bikes. It's more of a life is about the journey type riding which I enjoy.

So, how did the bike feel after ~600 miles when the rev limiter opened up to a full 10K? Having spent all my years in big bikes I fell in love with my 390 Adv. My Himalayan is amazing, but my 390 clicks every box. I'm off to hit some nice back roads this last weekend of 2022. It's nice and warm and the trails are calling. Heh-heh, how's the weather up there now for a wee ride?

Hmmm I never even noticed a REV limiter? Didn't really notice any difference after 600. I thought about the Himalayan as it looks fantastic, but not being able to do highway speeds is a hard no if I want to do adventure rides. Buffalo got hammered but we hardly have any snow, its supposed to be 50ish tomorrow so maybe I'll be able to get out. Winter sucks!

@@LCARSADV Winter? Oh yeah, winter. That's when I get to wear my cool jacket and the football season gets tense ... right?
      ;)
I'm giving my Himi to my son. Space is tight enough in my garage. There will be a super Himalayan coming out soon, better
for the highway probably, but maybe a much heavier twin.
Buffalo? Gawd, the snow capital of the world. When I was a kid, it was the greatest thing in the world. Now? Fehgitaboutit!
Yeah, there's a limiter on the bike. At ~600 you can wind that babe up to 10K. It really wakes up.

Not sure if you did your bar risers yet. You'll find your going to install a longer clutch cable. No matter how you route the stock one it's to tight. I have 1" risers so purchased a motion pro cable from eBay part number 02-0426 listing for Honda cbr 900 rr works perfect. Note you be putting a nut on each end of threads down where you install at clutch unlike ktm had both nuts together at front end of threaded rod. Live long ride safe. Scott

I am here in Irondequoit, and that's my Saturday morning run. Love running by the lake. What made you choose the Ktm over the Hondas. You and I seem to look at the same bikes.

@@brettresseguie2279 I chose the ktm for mote off-road capability, tech, and looks. I think the Honda is ugly honestly and I think the ktm is just a better bike for what I want to do. You ever go far on your ktm?

I've got an old KLR Tengai that I had forever, but if it hits the ground there are no body panels available. That's why I am in the market.

@@brettresseguie2279 I’m pretty happy with the ktm, it seems to be an all around good bike, but time will tell. I think the Honda probably would be better in the road though
