      Absolutely 👍 It’s a great can and a fantastic mount on top of that. Y’all hit it out of the park!
      The Checkmate HD video should drop this Saturday 😉
      And thank you guys for making solid products 🤙

    I love my HRT. Its probably the best duty can on the market. I also have the DL5/7. Griffin is such a dark horse in the industry. More people need to know about them and how great their products are. Their Sn-atch charging handle is also the best I've tried. My buddies sierra 5 turned into a maraca. It's been over 4 months since he sent it in. Griffin is finishing a 60,000sqft manufacturing plant. They invested millions in tech like robotic arms for precision laser welds and Autospray. They make everything in house. After the DA debacle, people should see how important that is.

      I agree with you totally on your 'Dark Horse' comment. I still get those feelings of not wanting other people to find out about them, like it was a band I was into or something. I am super impressed with the stuff I've read and seen about their barrels, as well.
      I'm putting together a portfolio featuring a line of custom camo as well as some other really cool ideas and they are definitely one of the companies I'm going to be showing it off to and trying to work with.
      Griffin Armament RULES!!!.

      I might be getting a DL5 to demo for y’all 😉
      I was told that the DL5 will have less backpressure than the HRT.

      @goawaybaizuo 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@CalebDowning The DL5 is really nice! Gets hot quick, but that's always a tradeoff of tubeless vs tubed. It also cools down faster. A bit more flashy under nods, too. I consider them for different purposes. I would take an HRT as a "Go to war/Duty" can and a DL5 for range day all day. Now that my cans are starting to get out of the grips of our evil government I'm going to make some reviews as well. I want as many people as possible to know how awesome GA is!

    • @EDC_All_Day
      @EDC_All_Day 11 месяцев назад +1

      The HRT is a little bit more gassy. Not nuch though. Its absolutely better at signature reduction (flash). I have their new Recce5k coming too. If I wanted a tubeless can from them today, I would go with the new m4sd-l. They reworked the flash baffle and endcap. It's also stupid quite. Theres a fantastic review on ar15cm between flow556k, sierra 5, and Dual-lok 5. The Dual-lok smoked them both. I would take the HRT over Dual-lok 5 if I had to pick one, but be aware. The HRT doesn't take their long muzzle devices. So you can't use their device to p&w a 13.7. You can easily p&w a 14.5 with the hrt

    Love Griffin Armament. I'm so glad I held off on buying my cans till I did. Bought the HRT and DL-7 (S/N below 100) soon as they came in, ordered the DL HRT 762 s/n 7 and plan on getting more..love the mount and believe there slept on as a company. Been so excited for this review... Still hoping for you to show that custom G29 one day lol

    So it’s marketed as a balanced suppressor for flash/Sound, nice!
    How is the gas to the face compared to YHM Turbo? I’d hope at least 50% better😅.
    Didn’t know about the mounting system either, looks like it’s keymo but refined and simplified..I dig it😎.

    • @CalebDowning
      @CalebDowning  Год назад +3

      I’m going to do another 5.56 can comparison here shortly. The HRT does a better job of mitigating back pressure than most traditional cans. The modern cans designed to reduce that back blast are all getting better.
      There are one or two main applications the KeyMo mount beats out the Dual-Lok, but the vast maturity of the time the Dual-Lok wins out. That’s another video coming 😉

    I’ve been watching this can since it came out right after I ordered a Sierra 5. Seems like such a good can, wish I’d gone that route since Dead air has now had my Sierra 5 back for over 3 months and still can’t get me an ETA.

      @@CalebDowning brother they have my mask too. It blew up on 5.7. If you have one, you know that first thin triangle cut baffle spacer thing? That part just broke apart. As far as the Sierra it’s embarrassing man, I was a huge DA supporter and now I’m left with a sandman that has screwed up endcap threads. My other two are at DA and last update when I got fairly upset and said listen guys, I just need a realistic timeframe since you told me 50-60 days 90 days ago was “we’re still waiting on parts”. Just completely ignored the time frame part on multiple emails. Really sucks. Live and learn!

      In my experience, 12.5” is as short you’ll want to go without ear protection on. You will notice a bigger difference if you have something like a 14.5” and up to 20”. But if you are shooting a short 7.5” or 10.5” then I’d say you should wear some ear protection.

    There is one aspect of this review with which I disagree. Getting free stuff from a company does introduce bias. It always will. If you give a bad review, you may not receive free stuff in the future. If you give a good review the company is incentivized to send you more free product. Thus a bias is always present.
    The only way to elimiate bias is to receive products from a 3rd party distributor unrelated to any particular company.
    That being said, I personally have several Griffin cans and absolutely love them and really wish they were more popular... and that they had fewer gov contracts.... but c'est la vie.
